Highly NOT recommended tour

Lousy tour guide, packed itinerary that is very rushing, keep changing buses which means u have to bring your luggage to and fro.

If you take a long tour like me who took a 11-day tour, be prepared as you are allocated into those different 1-day, 3-days and 4-day tours to make up the 11-day tour. It was a terrible experience. Don't book this unless you have no other choice.

  • The tour is cheap compared to driving on your own.
  • Cons:
  • You have to suffer under the lousy tour guides. They just want to clear the itinerary and do not seem to care whether you enjoy the trip at all.

    Lousy tour too many hidden costs that have to be paid in cash. They do not follow through with the itenary. Not allowed to use bus washroom and the have to que and wait at times over half hour.
    If you go to San Francisco be prepared to stay in Silicon Valkey which is an hour away.
    Tour guides a very rude, don't care and very intimidating if you do want to pay.

    Worst Tour Guide Ever

    We took a 7 day/6 night trip from Chicago to Atlanta purchased on Taketours.com, provided by L&L Travel.

    On the third day of the trip, the air conditioning of the bus broke down on the way to Memphis, and we were sitting in the bus that had a heat index of 115 degrees F for over 2 hours. That was after a delay of over 2 hours before the decision was made to continue without AC. This was despite the fact that one passenger complained that he couldn't stand the heat because he has heart issues. There was zero compensation for what happened even though we lost valuable tour time that day, and had to suffer through extreme heat inside a bus without AC for 2 hours. I had complained about the AC to the tour guide the day before that the AC was not working well, but he did not do anything about it, and the next day it broke.

    The tour guide, Peter Gao/Guo, was very rude to us and others. On the final day, on the bus, he got into a heated argument with us demanding that we pay him for 3 bottles of water that the bus driver GAVE us on day 3 during the ride in extreme heat without air conditioning. We gave him the $2.25 ($0.75 per bottle) which was not a big deal, but we were shocked and appalled by how he was yelling at us in front of all the other passengers. This guy is a complete liar since he told everyone at the beginning that the bus driver was the one selling the water.

    Peter even threatened to call the police, which he backed off from doing after we encouraged him to go ahead and do so. We have a video of the argument to support our claim.

    Later an elderly lady told us that during that unacceptably hot bus ride, she felt ill and asked Peter the tour guide for something where she can vomit in. Peter just said no and walked away.

    I sent in my complaint to Taketours.com nearly a week ago, but never got a reply. I would be steering clear of both this agency and L&L Travel in the future.

    terrible tour

    booked 4 day tour of new york boston and niagra falls and it was a nightmare

    Rude tour guide did not see much in new york except boat tour and a big war ship but did not stop at time square or ground zero.

    Boston was a nightmare as all we saw was city tour but no stopping of the bus

    Falls boat cruise was great but they (L and L Tours would not let us go into a public park as they charged passangers for it what a rip off.tHE TOUR ENDED AND 32 PEOPLE WERE DUMPED AT A PUBLIC BUS STATION TO THE TRIP BACK TO Washington.

    Bus was dirty and the driver was a dangerous. L suspect that Take tours and L and L Tours are in some type of partnership as when i rang Take Tours they defended L and L Tours and said put your complaints in a email which i have and guess what no reply .Well Take tours I'm not going away and will continue to protest until i get a result.

    BE WARNED IF YOU TAKE A TOUR WITH THIS COMPANY YOU WILL BE DISAPOINTED.

    Do not take tour

    Please do not take any tour package from take tour.They might cheat you.They will not allow you to enjoy the places. They will make you run all the time just to get done the places in the itinerary. Indians would find it very difficult to understand there language and you might be left alone at some destination if you misunderstood the time told by them to return to the bus. They also changed the itinerary at the last moment without informing. And we did not get any refunds for that.

    Worst Tour Co. ever dealt with. Forget most of the optional tours, they are rushed and expensive. Tour guide invents stories about sights seen. 75% of commentary is in Chinese and 25% in English. Complaints to Co. are not addressed. Bus used was old, dirty and roof leaked. Service very poor. Co. inconsiderate. Written responses are in very poor English. English speaking people had difficulty understanding guide - non English and Chinese speaking people had no hope. The only real "efficient" process was the collection of the Mandatory "Service Fee" and after it was collected not another word of commentary. Check everything Co. says as there are many lies

    Worse Tour Ever!!!

    For beginners the Tour Guy speaks broken English and translated only in Chinese(felt bad for the Hispanic people being that they didn't understand jack). The 1st day of the trip we made stops in Princeton,Lancaster. Those 2 1st stops were boring and a complete waste of money to take A tour in the Amish house. The only good thing about this trip was being able to take pictures in Lincoln Memorial. 2 day trip was for $76 if you buy 2 tickets they give you a 3rd one Free. FREE my ass!! At the end of the trip they charge you $16 per person for additional BS fees. Something you aren't aware of unless you really look carefully on there website. I went with a group of 5 and spent more then I would of liked to. I don't recommend TakeTour to anyone. Hidden fees and you are rushed from beginning to the end!!!thumbs down!!! Worse Company Ever!!!

    Take tours niagara review

    Very rude & arrogant tour guide. Bus driver is no help at all. Forcing us to pay for All optional tours. Cannot bring coffee on bus, insults those who are late. Sub contracted to E world tours catering to Chinese tourists. Very poor service because very cheap.

    Treat customers poorly plus garbage attitude

    I am writing a letter of complain regarding one of your employee. Her name is Alice (long hair, skinny, has on terrible eyeliner) and she was our tour guide for the 3 days in San Francisco. My first impression of Alice was okay, my family was very excited to see San Francisco, we flew all the way from Alabama to visit the famous city that everyone raves so much about. The second day of the tour, her attitude got a whole lot worst because she rushed everybody, I understand there is a timeframe, but she refuse to give us the time until the day of, which I can get behind. However, she did not acknowledge the fact that there are children and elders who are also riding along, so whenever we do walk, it’s a little difficult for them to keep up the pace. She kept rushing us and saying we cannot be late again because of some bus policy. Which I understand, but she was unpleasant throughout the whole trip. And to make matters worst, she even threatened to leave us in the middle of the road if we don’t comply with her demands. The people are all upset towards her attitude, myself included. I’ve never had such a terrible experience with anyone, ever. You know it’s bad when a majority of the bus are angry at her and her attitude. Highly unprofessional, let me ask you as a consumers, are you happy to pay in full a fee that promise you a good time? But then not get that as promised? Personally I would be upset, compensation or not. Our tour guide Alice, made it even worst on herself on our very last day of the trip, the people was excited to see Yosemite National Park and be with Mother Nature. We started off with a pleasant morning, and on our first stop, we took pictures (15 minutes) to you it might be a little long for pictures but you have to realize that the park has so many amazing site, we comply and did not complained. We went back to the bus on time. As we make our way onto the next stop around 8:25 the bus tire blew out and smokes was blowing, even the smells was in the bus, which was bound to happen. Then we waited in the bus until she gives us an update. We finally decided to get down and make the best of the situation by taking some more pictures with the time we have while waiting for the bus to be fixed. Then about an hour or two later, the people was getting a little antsy and wanted to know what’s gonna happen but we were patient, knowing it was not anyone fault, things happen. The bus driver and Alice decided its best to move the bus to a different part so it won’t be so dangerous. We tried to see how far we can go, turns out not that far. But the people got down and took some more pictures because again, we still have time on our hands. But the more we waited and got no updates the more upset we became because she kept saying we’re waiting on the mechanics to arrive which was true for the records. But my problem here is Alice need to personally come and make sure that every family was okay and tell them that all the mechanics are still working and she’ll soon come back with an update, but instead we had to come and talk to her to get the updates. The people was hungry and tired and some are even angry that they did not get what they were promised. The people decided to make a petition which concludes of the refunds on the last day of the tour, I will insert it below if I know how lol. But the gist of it was to be compensate the money that day. Everyone came to a conclusion and that’s what I wrote on the paper, and agreement that everyone vote on. We had a majority that signed and wanted our “leader” aka Alice to sign, just as a witness to the situation, she read the petition and even promised to sign the paper, as long as we get on the bus. (This was after the bus was fixed, approximately 4 hours later). The people were reluctant to get on because they felt like she was lying, she came out and basically yelled at them saying that we need to get on the bus because they have a specific schedule, which they do. But the problem I have here is that, if she wants the people to get on the bus, why did she not sign the paper, basically saying she’s a witness to it all. We were all witnesses, so why was she reluctant to sign it? We placed no blame on her in the petition, we didn’t even want to mention her name but to make the paper legitimate, a member of the tour must read and sign it, so we don’t all look like liars. She even made the almost exact same paper and asked us to sign it. But let me point something out, why did she refuse to sign our paper but basically demand her paper to be sign with our signatures? What is she hiding? What is this company hiding? (Btw it’s Taketour, that’s where we booked our tickets). This is where she basically said she’ll be more than happy to drop us off at the side of any road we desire, we just need to say it. She kept snapping back at the elders who refuse to get on the bus. I’ll stop right here, and please keep in mind majority of review above only focuses on today (6/5/2019). Her attitude is just garbage, she can’t crack a smile, tell a joke, or even be the easiest thing, nice. She can’t even be nice, do you want to associate with anyone like that? I would refuse profusely. So please have careful consideration for the very next time you’ll book a tour through this company, I’m not saying that all the employees would be as bad as Alice here but just take it into careful consideration. Thank you for reading this very, very long review. You made it to the end, that is all I had to say, thank you for your time and hopefully careful considerations.

    DO NOT BOOK WITH TAKE TOURS OR LL TOURS

    The bus driver was the driver and tour guide. He had little background knowledge of all of the sites: Detroit, Toronto, Niagara Fall, and Cleveland! The driver and the mini bus had no visible identification! The mini bus had seats that could not adjust to the adults on board! A two year old child was never in a child seat! What kind of safety is that? Optional sites were not optional. We felt pressured to attend the sites. The bus driver was Asian and stopped twice at Chinese food locations to please the three Asians on board. When we asked specific questions about location of our hotels and restaurants, the bus driver could not give us a clear answer to the locations until the last minute. These matters are very unprofessional! The planning of the trip was very last minute! The driver asked for $10.00 gratuity from all of the passengers per day. A polite driver would never ask for money. We, the clients, will give the money at the end if we think that we had a suitable experience!

    We felt that the bus driver did not truly enjoy his job description by the manner of his shortness of topics and his fast-paced driving skills. We will never book with this company

    again.

    NEVER BOOK A TOUR FROM TAKETOURS!!!!

    Since Taketours doesn't post my review, I'll post it here. NEVER BOOK A TOUR ON THIS SITE!!!

    I booked this Tour "1-Day Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend Tour from Las Vegas" on 5/23/18 and my ticket said the bus would pick us up at 5am at Excalibur and we had to wake up super early to prepare.

    I got notified by email the day before that the bus would pick us up no later than 5am. However, when we got to the bus pick up area at 4:45am, we saw no one! so my boyfriend called the bus driver twice which went to voicemail, and texted him (his number was provided in the email). He replied he would be there at 6am. So we went inside the Excalibur hotel and came back out at 5:45am.

    We asked every single bus arriving but he was not there. There was a small bus came after 6:10am and the bus driver stood in 1 place next to the bus and called out something but no one could understand what he said. The Rotunda at the Excalibur is quite big and can fit 4 super big buses. There were a lot of people standing around waiting for buses. And then because the driver of the small bus parked so stupid he blocked all traffic and other buses couldn't move and started beeping at him while he was trying to make a phone call. But since he was blocking traffic he ran back to the bus and so I thought he went to move his bus but he left. I didn't have a chance to ask that small bus before it left. Other bus drivers made great efforts to shout out the destination multiple times and walked around asking everyone who was waiting. I looked on my phone and saw a missed call. I only had ONE missed call. He didn't even call my boyfriend who had called and texted him before. I called back 4 minutes after receiving the missed call. It was the bus driver, He said he called our names several times and called my phone several times, said we were late so he left us behind. We asked if he could turn around and pick us up but he said no and we should have been on time. He also said that if we wanted to go on the tour we needed to take an Uber to the next stop and he only gave us 5mins to get there or else he would leave us behind. It took us 8mins minutes to get an uber, and the driver called back at the request of my boyfriend before leaving and said he was going to leave us behind again he cannot wait. My boyfriend explained we got an Uber because he told us to and asked him several times to please wait 10mins as that is how long it would take to get from Excalibur to the next stop. When we got there, it was that small bus that I did not have a chance to ask. That bus stopped at Excalibur well after 6am so technically he was the one who was late. And despite that he told us that we were late even though we were standing outside waiting for him. There were 6 people in the bus and our group had 5 people. So we literally contributed almost 50% of the people on that bus. And he couldn't turn around 4mins after leaving Excalibur and pick us up? He literally said he had to leave us behind. It was only 2 miles between the 2 bus stops (Excalibur and Treasure Island). it was a very frantic and stressful ordeal for us your tip went to the Uber payment. You're welcome Bin.

    Additionally the driver forced us to pay a service fee in addition to our $60 Lower antelope tour Entrance fee and a permit fee. Each fee was per person in our group. The Driver could not explain or tell us what the service fee was for and we had to pay him in cash. We also got no receipt for our payment. He charged the other Tour guests $25 and $33 each person for the tour and also requested cash from them but charged us $75 per person.

    all in all our Trip was very displeasing. The total cost of $300+ just to book this tour plus pay an additional $375 to actually take the tour around the canyon is just scandalous. I don't recommend the tour from here to anyone! It would have been a lot cheaper just to drive ourselves up there and pay only $60 entrance fee per person to have the locals give us the tour and it would have been 100% better!

    US East Coast 6 days tour from Washington

    TakeTour is basically catering to Chinese. Other nationals are strongly warned to book at their own risk. Behaviour of Chinese in group is completely different so is of the tour guide. Other nationals....not to spoil their tour just for saving few bugs. Will keep on struggling for basic needs throughout the tour.

    Terrible is an understatement

    Please save your money and opt to go alone or with some other tour. I am currently on a 4 day Seattle to San Francisco tour. Day 1: we did nothing. Literally nothing! Just the pick up from airport to hotel.

    Day 2: international rose garden that had 0 roses. Japanese garden which require at least 1 to 1.5 hours. He have us 30 min for rose garden and Japanese garden combined. Japanese garden had a $15 entrance fee BTW! Not gonna give my dollars for 10 min of that garden. PORTLAND city tour: he left us in the rain for 2 days ans said EXPLORE THE city on your own. HAWTHRONE BRIDGE: never went there! Day 3: supposed to be crater lake if the weather is fine as told by their representatives as well as website. The tour guide said that they NEVER do the crater lake in winter. A horrible horrible company that is established to lie, cheat and steal money from people like us.

    BEWARE!!! don't go for the low price.. you ll end up spending more money and paying their mandatory tips without getting anything in return.

    ITS A NEVER AGAIN TOUR FOR ME!

    Bad hotels locations, Chinese restaurants, tight itinerary, impr

    The 3-day tour to San Fransisco is not recommended at all as the LA to SFO distance is high, and you spend two full tiring days to and fro in the journey. They took us to Stanford University at 6 in the morning when it was still dark and everyone was sleeping. No point seeing an university like that.

    There is only one organizer per van/bus, who generally are very busy. There is no one to answer basic questions/queries. I took the 7-day tour to SFO and Vegas from LA, Our day 2 itinerary was to go to Vegas. We got ready, sat in the car. We started driving and they tell us we are doing SFO first. We said that we were not informed about this, but the guide knew nothing about it. There is no one place / manger to call, help or complain.

    They start the day early morning at 5 or 6. You need to be ready by then, all packed as you will have to check out and be in the van/bus. This made us feel tired and sleepy throughout the day.

    The tour is more preferable for Chinese people as they only stop at Chinese restaurants. If you don’t like Chinese food, you have to survive on vending machine food.

    The stop at hotels which is generally very far from the city , at outskirts where you cannot step out or even get decent dinner.

    7 days Santa Monica-LV-SFO tour

    I have taken the 7 days Santa Monica-Las Vegas-SFO tour. Though the West coast tour agency people managed the trip well but take tour site mentioned many things which are no longer appropriate for the package. It was really misleading. Please don't spend mony on first day Santa Monica tour in LA. It is a waste of money and over priced.

    Rocky Mountain Tour

    We took a Take Tour of the Rockies only because it was the only one available that fitted our schedule following the death of our friend in Vancouver which disrupted our travel plans. We were aware that these tours mainly cater for Chinese travellers but we took the risk. After signing up we asked to be met off our cruise ship rather than at an airport and after several telephone calls we were provided with a DETAILED itinerary showing that the tour ended in Seattle.We received an email from Take Tours confirming that they agreed to meet us at the cruise terminal and to drop us at a hotel in Seattle which we had previously booked. We replied directly to this email in the usual way as the reply site they requested could not be accessed by us. We were then on tour in Japan and on a cruise so we had almost no access to telephone. We had several more emails asking for our flight details even though Take knew that we were not coming or going by air. On arrival at the pier we were not picked up until over two hours later and only after telephone calls to find that Super Vacations was the tour operator. They gave us an itinerary which showed that we were not going to Seattle at all! Telephone calls to Take Tours were firstly answered and when we advised of our problem with the itinerary not being as promised there was a delay and then the line went dead. Follow up calls were not answered. We then had to book our own bus tickets to Seattle.

    The tour itself was OK, the bus was fine, the scenery was as expected, (we had been there before) and the hotels were good. Thank goodness we did not take up the meal package as all the restaurants served Chinese food. The tour guide was substandard. His organisation was OK but just about all that he said in Chinese and English was repeated several times and there was not much interesting information provided, just that we were in a National Park etc with little of the flora and fauna and continual statements that ..... was the best or the most beautiful in the world.Not among the best, but the best.At Lake Louise my patience ran out and I asked if he had been to New Zealand or Switzerland. He replied in the negative so I asked how he could say unequivocally that Lake Louise was the most beautiful in the world. He gave no answer. Later in the tour he came around to collect his "service charges". We said no as we did not consider that he deserved anything and we pointed out that the tour documents referred to gratuities. He became very agitated and quite abusive, pointing his finger at my wife and creating a scene in front of all the passengers. This alone convinced us not to pay him and we did not.

    We have since had a number of email contacts with Take Tours but they will not acknowledge any fault. We are disgusted.

    DO NOT USE TAKE TOURS even if you speak Chinese as they are cheap and nasty and guests are being delivered misleading information.

    Nightmare trip with taketours.com

    ITAKETOURS.COM? obsulutely try every cost to avoid use their service.actually NO SERVICE AT ALL. Wanted to give 0 star couldn't post,had to choose 1 which is flattering them .after they collect money,they do whatever because on their one-way contract they CAN.but you can't because you will have to pay 100% penalty for change or cancel...Horrible traveling experience, unreasonable and rude conduct.They provided 1 day for 2-days tour.made woke up at 4am waiting 5.5 hours in the airport for driver come pick up for 1 hour flight.and gave wrong information.when you ask question,they say always"look up the website""there is nothing we can do".no customer service ,no problem solving.its a below 0 star.under standard service at all.dont go with them.never again!(unless you want to experience and feel to be abused and ripped off)

    take tours

    Just done a 1 day Marthas Vineyard trip with them from Boston. Almost 30 mins late pickup. On our 15 seater minibus there were 12 Chinese, plus a Chinese tour guide of course who was very poor. Forced to take optional trip and the day tour was rushed and nearly 2 hours shoeter than indicated on their web site.

    Tour experience

    I would like to point out that this tour is more oriented towards chinese people. The tour guide have limited knowledge of the sites and though we pay 8 dollars per day as tip to the driver and guide the service is horrible. The baggages are not loaded on to the bus by them or taken out. The english of the guide is poor that makes people who are not chinese very difficult to understand. I had a bad experience as a whole.

    Pilots/Guide from Mayi Tours Mr Kevin and Stanley are excellent, perfect, good mannered, having indent knowledge, information of the area. In total tour arrangements were excellent. Please carry on the same. All arrangements were to our satisfaction. No shortfalls observed.

    We are from India. on a vacation to US. Contents, hospitality, arrangements, timings are excellent.

    Affordable tour and Highly recommended

    I came across this website while looking for vacation packages on the west coast. It is so expensive to travel to the west coast.

    I took a 3 day tour to grand canyon and 3 day tour to SFO from los Angeles. I highly recommend to visit the west coast. The views are amazing.
