Win98 Performance issues

Well, that's Windows 9x/Me for ya . What gives you the sign that you have to reboot? Does it freeze the computer or just bogs down completely? Try going to Windows Update (windowsupdate.microsoft.com) and download all the latest patches, including upgrading to IE 6. Also try unloading unnecessary stuff running in the background that start up automatically. The best way to do that is to run "msconfig".

I have three win98 boxes and one win2k box all running the same POS software. The win98 boxes typically have to be restarted after having approximately 48 to 72 hours of uptime. I have run the windows resource meter against the POS program and have not found evidence of a memory leak. However, the win2k box runs fine without any rebooting needed.
