I used IYOGI for a problem last year. Since my service has expired, I receive several calls a day to renew the service. One day, I counted 6 phone calls. I have talked to them and requested no further calls and the calls started up again today. I am contacting the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint regarding harrassment.

My mother-in-law paid them $300 for support on two computers. The first time she used them to set up a HP wireless printer/scanner over the network. They told her that the model didn't support wireless scanning so she bought a more expensive model that does and gave me the old one. I had the old one set up to scan wirelessly at my house in ten minutes....

The second time she used them because her her keyboard was flipping out and whenever she clicked in a text box it typed spaces over and over. After 2 hours on the phone with them they told her she had a brand new virus and was the first to get it and that there was nothing to do about it. Never once did they ask her to simply try a different keyboard.

Fail...

No order number, because I was not the one on the call.

It was an awesome thing to watch your techs go through my system and bit by bit, fix issue after issue. I had to listen hard to understand some of the things that they were saying because they speak differently but I couldnt care less coz they got me back online.

Don't fall for it!

So I sent my laptop in for a repair that was still covered in the warranty. When I got it back I had to reinstall all of my programs...iTunes, Microsoft Office...so on. Well I had purchased Microsoft Office in 2009 and when I reinstalled it it needed my confirmation key code. Of course I had no clue where the paper was that had this on it, but at the bottom of the pop-up it said already purchased and need a key? So I clicked it and it brought me straight to iyogi's website. This was all at 1 am and I didnt figrure they had 24 hour service but I was surprised to see they did. I called and on the first ring someone answered I explained the situation and they just kept going in circles trying to get me to buy a new version of windows because "i could never get the key code back" or "it expires after one year" even though I have had it since 2009. So anyways he talked me into just buying it with a one year subscription to there service. Mind you all I needed was Microsoft Office but he began clicking on all of this stuff "that was making my computer run slow" and saying it all needed to be cleaned up and they could do that too. So I agreed to the 169.99. He then begins signing into his windows live account where he has every download you can imagine stored along with key codes. He starts installing the wrong Office and I had to correct him on that. By now Im getting a little suspicious so while Im on the phone I look these guys up. Turns out its a scam! So 3 hours later and him having access to all of my personal information I said just give me my money back. My computer completely crashed while he was trying to install "Office" and I thought I'd basically been screwed but the second I said I want to get a refund he took the stuff he'd managed to install off and my computer was right back to normal. They tried to continuously get me to "give them another chance" as they put it and I declined. I Just dont want someone else to fall for it because it really seems legit. We'll see if I get my money back. Order number 201109213826355. West Lafayette, IN

they will do the job which takes only 5 minutes for 3 hours, and sell you unneeded service! be careful
When I was unable to install a NETGEAR wireless adapter, I called the service telephone number listed on the NETGEAR site. iYogi answered and I began what ended up as a 3.5 hour marathon session with a service technician. The problem was ultimately solved - I am now able to use the wireless adapter and the fix did appear to be complicated. However, it was clear the repair and consultation was needlessly prolonged and during the remote access session I authorized (in order to allow the technician to scrutinize my computer and assist in the repair - pretty standard these days), he spent a lot of time looking at what webpages I browsed, eventually telling me my problem was a result of a very deeply infected computer with details offered by iYogi's diagnostic software. How convenient, eh? Again, my problem was ultimately solved, but I spent at least an hour fending of a VERY hard-sell of the $169 iYogi service. Interestingly, the tech mentioned that his repair was only temporary and that my computer desperately needed iYogi's attention. He agreed to call me back in 48 hours to talk about iYogi's year-long protection/service - after I've had a chance to confirm that his repair worked. Based on the other reviews/complaints above, I'm now seriously worried that I've got a couple of time bombs in my house (both of the computers the iYogi tech insisted on scanning). I'm really stunned that NETGEAR allows its customers to be exploited - scammed - this way by its own technical assistance partner.

Someone hacked my computer the other day. In the past it's taken weeks to fix it and was very costly. I happened yo find iyogi online and took my chances - I'm very glad I did. They fixed my computer within an hour - got rid of the virus and the tech couldn't have been nicer. I've called them twice since I signed up with them and both times the tech's have been wonderful to deal with.

I found iyogi through google and called them. I was scared to give them access but they assured me my information would be safe. They restored everything and gave me this tool thats supposed to save energy.

    IYOGI- THE SCAM

    Order Number ...1819, Athens GA:

Iyogi is supposedly the technical support for my anti-virus provider. I had a problem with my program accepting my renewed subscription so I called tech support. A tech rep accessed my computer, then kept me on the phone for 45 minutes trying to sell more services.

On the basis my issue was with multiple computers, he "brought in his senior technician to assist" and tried to steer me to move from one computer to another while the senior tech worked on the 1st computer. Because I have some computer knowledge, I was listening closely and caught a hint as to where my conflict was. I asked him to go ahead and address the issue one computer at a time. He continued to stall saying it would take a long time to do it that way. I disconnected and corrected our issues in under a minute.

I do not know if they were trying to create a service bill, create a need for more service, or merely trying to access confidential data on my computer but based on the quick fix that I needed but failed to be promptly steered to, I have zero doubt that I was being scammed. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL!

I was having issues with my Mcafee yesterday, called support at Mcafee. The tech asked if he could access my comp to fix my problems, he asked for my phone # in case we got disconnected and in fact we did.He called me back so thankfully I have his number. He was all the time just in the process of selling me a software program called Iyogi for $299. He told me a whole list of things wrong with my computer and I had to have it to fix it or my computer might become locked up and do permanent damage. He told me I have 35 viruses and many other things. However with this Iyogi software he could fix it all in 45 mins. He had me lay the phone down while I went to the bank to deposit the money. On my way there I realized I was stupid and was talking to a hacker. Forty mins later I returned and he was still on the phone and asked if I depostited the money and I said yes but I am not going to buy it as I do not have enough money afterall. He asked how much I did have that I could be on a payment plan. I told him no thank you. Today I got a call from my banks fraud dept. I have been hacked and so far had 12 charges today done internationally. I am in NY state and my CSR was from India. I called the number this morning that was on my caller ID and it was Iyogi, not Mcafee. This is being investigated at this time and I am not sure how I got this young man at Iyogi when I called Mcafee. I called Iyogi and I did get the mans name that called me yesterday. Word to the wise, be careful.

I had contacted Iyogi and they fixed the problem for which I paid $139.99 that was last year 12-8-2010. I did go to them for a check-up but all they would was try to sell me another first 3-year then 2-year then-one year contract. I tried to tell them my computer was slow and wanted it checked,as I had more time on the contract I already had but all they did was try

to sell me again this was about two months before

my contract ends. I finially hang up on them.

They called me back still trying to sell me another year. Just as their year ended I have a problem which seems like someone is stopping me from doing anything, if I try to do anything the

curser dissapears or moves randomly over the screen. This makes me believe someone has hacked

into it. Order number #6111140255 Case #200991209464674 Transattion ID #11881182R95527246

I was so impressed with their GREAT customer service and ability to solve every problem, that I bought an additional 2 years (3 years total) at a discount! I can't say enough how great of a company this is! They truly understand the definition of customer service ("meet and exceed...") and have done this for me each time I contact them! Thank you iyogi!

    To,

    iYogi Customers

I do not know what all issues you people have faced! but let me clear one thing, I work for the company, If I do not help you and close your case as anything except Resolved it gets cut off from my salary, so We have to get your issues resolved anyhow, If you people think that your not getting help, just tell the agent every thing is fine and working and disconnect the call and then if you get a chance to fill up survey please fill it as all 5 means full marks, because if you fill even 4 marks we get less salary and a warning letter from the company saying you will have to quit soon if anymore surveys are failed,

Now after disconnecting the call please call back using the same number so that the other technicain can help you

This can happen if your running out of luck and reaching technicians who are new to the organisation and can't help you

I've just had the exact same problem with most others on here. I recently ordered Microsoft office 2010 through the post but couldn't find the product key. Like an idiot, instead of turning the packaging over I typed "Microsoft Office helpline" into Google and spoke to someone from iYogi in seconds. She ran through a list of "errors" too and told me I needed to spend $189.99 to fix my computer. Being I student, I told her that I couldn't afford that and she said that she would speak to her manager! That's right, I haggled with a scam artist. When I asked if she could tell me how much I needed to pay in Great British pounds sterling she paused for a while and then told me that both the dollar and sterling were equal. I know the economy's bad but... geez. Really? This is where I got suspicious and my suspicions only increased when she asked if I could send her my name and e-mail address for purposes involving the informing of how much money I would need to spend.

"Didn't you just tell me that over the phone?"

    This is a huge con.

I hope that people see this website first before attempting to contact iYogi.

It's a scam. They figured out a way to milk us here. All are very friendly and very very incompetent. I asked one if he even had computer training and his silence said it all. They bumbled and stumbled through a simple pdf file conversion problem for more than 7 hours, at the end my scanner didn't work any more. Do not let them take control of your computer, they will certainly mess it up worse than it was before. I requested a refund and then the phone was hung up on me. order number 20110128191.....

IYogi is unethical, cheaters, no customer service and they do not provide the services they promise! I attempted to purchase an antivirus for my laptop computer. As I tried to install, the website directed me to IYogi for set up assistance (free of charge). When i was connected to IYogi's tech support they connected to my computer and said my computer was already infected with viruses and the McAfee antivirus could not help. They offered to fix this problem if I signed on for 1 year of tech support for $140, which would include unlimited tech support for any computer related issues. I naively belived what they were offering little did I know they were scamming me. The next time I turned on my computer all my files where gone. Family pictures, personal documents, music, everything saved on my computer was gone. If that was not bad enough, my computer now is infected with a virus and it crashed. When I tried to call their tech support they hung up the phone on me twice, then they put me directly to hold music which ended by disconnection. At the end of the day I'm short $179.99 (yes they charged me $39.99 more I don't know for what!), my laptop is useless, and all of my important documents and pictures are gone. I would never recommend this company, do not use their services, if I could have given them a rating less than 1 they would receive from me a 0.

Hi Guys I read it all, I am a former employee of the same company (IYOGI), I feel terrible after reading it all because even I was in the sales team. I always tried to abide to the company policies which are ofcourse not to cheat people. I woould like to mention that this company has its main branch in Delhi and it has outsourced its business to IBM and Ventura in Pune.... Like dell, Microsoft and others.... these companies do not want to loose their clients and thats the reason there is a lot of pressure on the People who are depending on these companies for their bread and butter, I know there are business ethics which are suppose to be followed but there managers are suppose to be one who should make sure that customers are sold what they need instead of pressurising the executives for sales and terminating them from the company if they don't achieve there targets.... they are suppose to make 1 sale per 5 calls... there are big and rich People who are suppose to be blamed, I am an engineer and I never wanted to sell, they hires us saying that we are just doing to do the technical job but they asked us to sell later on... Dont spend your money in this company.... every month there are employees who are leaving the company every month last month 80 guys left the company.... the company will shut down soon is my prediction. lets see.....

IYogi is definitely a scam. I too Googled "microsoft support" and was provided with their number. Only at the end of the call after I had paid $190 and given access to my computer, did they say they were IYogi. Since subscribing with them my system was immediately infected with viruses, and as I run a call centre off VOIP, they had hacked into my phones and crashed my whole system. They also informed me that the payment would only be taken after resolution of the complaint or 3 days, yet the money was taken immediately. Then they took the same amount out of my credit card again 3 days later! When I called to complain I was told this was impossible as they do not have access to my card details. I have the bank statement to prove it. IF YOU PAID THEM BY CREDIT CARD, GO TO YOUR BANK AND DO A "CHARGEBACK". IF THEY GET ENOUGH OF THESE THEIR FACILITIES TO ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS WILL BE STOPPED AND THIS WILL BE REPORTED TO ALL BANKS. THIS SHOULD STOP THEM TRADING EVENTUALLY. I WILL NOT LEAVE A WHOLE JOB NUMBER AS THEY MAY RETALIATE. EMILY, COBURG VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA ORDER NUMBER 611200965X

I just had the most bizarre "tech support" experience of my life with iyogi and I'm a long time pc owner (30 years) so, believe me, I've had a lot of them.

I renewed and reinstalled avast... error messages came up with no indication of how to fix them so I called the tech support number and reached an iyogi person, whom I thought was a tech guy.

I gave him access to my computer and watched as he perused my desktop for a while... then the program list... then the log files... continually making comments about how inefficient my computer is... and never addressing the problem with the avast installation. I was patient for a while expecting him to address the issue any moment... he asked where I lived, commented on my name, etc. etc. then after about 10 minutes of poking around and chatting like this, he launched into a pitch for a subscription to "infinite" software and computer support for $399 (3 years) to $169 for one year... After 5 minutes or so of his pitch, I said that all sounds good, but I'm here to get avast installed... let's deal with that and I'll decide about your offer later.. reluctantly (more pitch) he went offline for a while and then said someone else would have to help me with that and after another delay he passed me off to someone else... I expected a swift resolution and some explanation of what the problem was... but this guy (who also was offline for quite a while), he reinstalled avast and changed some settings and rebooted the computer... all in all this took an hour or so.

This is NOT the sort of experience I expected. In fact I would have appreciated the initial contact doing the reinstall... this could/should have been a 15-minute tech call... Afterward I did some searches on "iyogi" and see many, many complaints about them.

Order number: n/a - was referred to iyogi from avast sity

Iyogi popped up on my computer screen when I was looking for help with a printer problem. I called the number and was offered help on the spot for "forty dollars". The problem was solved but when my credit card bill came it was one hundrend and forty dollars. I complained, without success but now, year later, they called and wanted me to subscribe for another 3 years at a discount. i declined. A day later I found: - all my printer pilots deleted - error message "printer installation not possible: spooler disabled" - another attempt: "The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it...." Stay away from iyogi!

Iyogi so far seems to be a scam. I signed up on 02-18-11, next day virus in hard drive and documents. Called for service, problem fixed; i thought. Next day computer locked up and would not allow me to access the internet. Called for service and after 2 hours of attempts by the tech i was told i need to reload windows xp. They could not fix the issue, so now i have to go purchase a copy of xp. Asked for refund and now have documented 4 seperate attempts to get refund to no avail. Feel like i'm just getting the run around. Bad karma from iyogi.

I am suspicious of iyogi. I was actually pressured into accepting their services by a East Indian woman who talked non-stop. They charged 169.99 and then took control of my computer to fix the problem. While they did seem to fix my problem, I noticed that my Webroot Essentials Spy ware was not doing scheduled daily scans. I turned on that program and did a scan only to discover that a "key logger" (Winvestigator) had been installed. According to a description of this logger, it is usually used commercially and is typically installed by someone with administrative access to your computer, such as a system administrator or someone who shares your computer. I am the admin. on my computer and the only other access has been by iyogi. Now, I am not saying they did it, but they are my # 1 suspect. Order number 2122000553

When you suspect them this much and also when you were forced into it then there is no point giving them 3 stars.?

Just googled "microsoft help" and ended up dialing a 1-877 number, which I thought was to Microsoft. Ended up with an immediate response from a person with heavy middle eastern accent, eager to help. Though skepticle, I continued through the process with a reassurance the guy could fix my issues, no problem. After providing him access to my computer remotely (what was I thinking), he stared to mention how outdated my computer was (asked multiple times how old it was), how many issues there were on my hard drive, how "unclean" it was, and I suddenly realized this was NOT a free Microsoft service, but someone who was about to "sell" me a solution.

What finally freaked me out was seeing him access the "My Documents" files on my computer electronically and the word "Export" at the top of the screen. I suddenly felt like a single lady in a parking garage in the middle of the night, cornered by a van. I quickly thanked the guy, but said I would have my computer looked at by a friend. He strongly objected and said "just 2 more mintues!!!" I quickly killed the power to my entire system via a surge protector and hung up. Very creepy. I just wish Iyogi didn't come up at the TOP of the google search for microsoft help!!! Order Number 6415211686

Update on complaint posted on 03-12-11. I got a call from a Supervisor from iyogi asking me to remove my post on this site, he said that he was signing the request and wanted me to remove the post asking if i could do this in the next 15 minutes. He assured me that the tech that handled my issue would be reprimanded and this is not the usual for their company. He also told me taht i was the first person to ask for a refund out of all the customers they have in the United States, he must not have scrolled down this site. He was supposed to email me conformation of the refund as soon as he got off the phone with me, that was approximately 8 hours ago. More bad karma from iyogi...

I called iyogi for support, and the technician did not approach the problem in a systematic or professional way. After a few perfunctory clicks, she tried to sell me her $139 protection package. But that was software, and the problem was clearly one with hardware. Furthermore, they misrepresented themselves, making it appear that they were representatives of a computer company. I believe that iyogi is a scam.

They did the same thing to me. I specifically asked them if they worked for HP because I truly thought I had called HP Tech Support and the guy said yes he worked for HP. After 45 minutes of this guy combing through my computer telling me all this stuff that was wrong (Icalled for a printer problem) I got really uncomfortable and asked to speak to a supervisor which I had to wait on hold for about 15 minutes to do. The supervisor then finally admitted they were not actually HP Tech Support. By the way I watched every move when they were on my computer and I went into the same evnt log they were in after they were off my computer and all the "errors" they found were not there. THey are are LIARS!!!

order number 641521XXX Ok so an update. The service they performed was to take my daughters computer back to a point in time and then update mcafee to current once it was finished going back this solved her problem. They spent like 15 min on it and I assumed it would be reported as a minor incident. We asked them and they said no it was a major which contradicts what they told me the definition of a major issue was and I told him I didn't agree. His answer was to contact dell. Oh, also he loaded a bunch of iyogi doc which took him about 30 min extra and at the end we asked him it if was necessary to have that because honestly we don't trust them. He didn't explain why he loaded it just said I'll remove it and did. I told him that obviously their customer service tactics are very poor. I will be complaining to Dell as well on my experience. I feel like I've been scammed that's all I can say.

order number 641521XXX case XXXX03192226476 ...I have been a long time customer of Dell and have currently 5 dell laptops. My daughter's laptop was purchased most recently and when purchasing they didn't say anything about needing a sepsarate software warrenty. This was her college laptop. I was speaking to a supervisor because I told them I was not a happy customer. They assured me if I purchased this warrenty that it would cover 5 computers for unlimited incidents for 1 year. Then when I got the e-mail it said 4 incidents. They also said quarterly they would call me to do maintenance on all my computers for free. I do not trust them after the misleading information about the inicidents. I do think they will make this internet explorer issue which all we had to do was to take the computer back to a prev point to fix will end up being a major incident cuz now he is spending a ton of time loading a bunch of iyogi software and fooling with mcafee. I think as soon as my daughter gets her issue fixed we will delete their software. I do not want them logging into my computers without my permission. I am also not happy with Dell, at this point I don't trust them either, they are having these people take their customer's calls. I think I will rethink where I purchase my other 2 kids computers for college.

First off they are all very hard to understand via telephone, as they worked on my computer, btw they came up through my Anti Virus, CA Securities, wasn't like I was seeking them out, Is when they hit me with their sales pitch. They told me then I had 3 days to request a refund, realizing just how expensive this product is, the very next day I called for a refund, well within my time frame. They then tried and tried to talk me out of it but I held firm. I was told within 7 days to expect it, even received a email saying the same. Day 9 I called them back, stating I didn't get it, they promised I would have it within 2 days, well 5 days later and 2 more emails and I still don't have it! I'll have to lodge a bigger complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They shouldn't promote the fact if you call within 3 days you would get your money back if you don't. They make it extremely difficult and that's VERY unfair! No one should recommend iYogi, their work ethic is horrible.

I YOGI FRAUD: I Yogi has owed me a $170 dollar refund since January. I made 6 phone calls in Jan. & Feb. Each time they said they sent the money. They even gave me a phony number for the wire transfer, EXJE6DC542BF, and I should contact Bank of America. Of course the bank said the number was maningless to them. Six calls to Customer Care, six times I was told the money was sent. They were lying. Finally, on the 7th call they said there was a mistake and the money was never sent. However, I will get my money in 3 days. They were lying. I never got the money. I gave up listening to their lies. BEWARE: In any financial transaction with I YOGI, be sure you owe them money and not they owe you money. There are lots of tech support services, I YOGI Fraud is one to avoid.
