I have been using Defender Pro since the 2007 version. I never had any problems with previous versions, but the 2010 15 in 1 is frustrating, at times. It updates virus sigs quite well, but I have been hijacked by keyloggers & other nasty things despite the products claims to protect wi-fi. Customer support has improved immensely over the years, but I still have unresolved problems. I really don't have faith in this product anymore. I was told by a tech today that I need to get my hard drive wiped. THANKS. :(

I love this product it works great for me. 70 of these reviews maybe negative, but it's not like they only sold 100 copies of the program.
I'm sure that they have sold over 100,000 in the last few years and to only have 70 or so negative reviews here is not bad at all.

I don't know what people's problems are with this program. I installed it and it works fine. I does have a few glitches and bugs that have to be worked out though. When telling it to fix problems there might be a few minutes delay before it actually starts doing anything and I can see how that can frustrate most people as impatient as they are today.
Also if you surf the internet for more then 45 minutes at a time it will eventually start slowing down your browser before it cuts it off and then you just have to take a break for about 5 minutes and then you can resume.
The other problems are nothing a quick reboot doesn't usually fix. This program requires a little more patience and time spent babysitting it to make sure everything is running right then other AV programs I have had but I did save about 20 bucks.

Defender Pro..when powered by Kapersky was a very good product. I never had a problem with installs. I've used the product since 2005. Its always been good.
That is until DP became powered by BiTDefender by Bullgard Security. In 2009, the firewall antispam included in 5-1 blocked my internet access. I removed that product and it worked fine. Luckily I use Spybot S&D in its place anyway.
I just installed DP 2010 and thats when the computer flat out slowed down, hung up, DP would not start, error messages...the WORKS!
It turns out that the new engine uses some of the same drivers as Norton. I thought I did an uninstall of Norton 5 yrs ago, however, certain drivers still remained.
I had to manually remove Norton and any Symantec folders and run a registry cleaner.
DP now works as it should. Computer speed is back. No slow down or hang ups.
I used the following to fix my computer. Give it a try.
Goggle ask dave taylor+remove norton
I think DP is not smart for wrecking a good product with Kapersky. If its not broken don't fix it!!
I give it 5 stars DP 2005 thru 2008. 4 Stars for 2009 and 3 stars for 2010.

i,ve had dp 15-1 for about5 to 6 years i had nortons, i lost two cp,s with it so went to dp 15-1 and it has worked great steal useing the same cp.i do think i,am happy with it, i,ve got about 120 days left on this one waiting to get the next one only thing, iwish they would make one that last 5 yrs instead of just one year,

I have been using defender pro for two years now. I want to explain that this anti virus has many fakes out there that will kill your computer. I have read through many of the negative comments and many of them may have been using XP Defender Pro. This is not Defender Pro, this is the one of the many fakes that are out there. For me I haven't had any trouble and Defender Pro have been keeping my computer virus free. I have used other anti virus's and they were ok but this anti virus has been great, and mostly due to the customer support.

15/1 has worked well for me, but for the fire wall to be truly effective...Any firewall you need to make sure you understand what the process are that need access to the internet and those that do not. A good example is Explorer.exe, this is a system service, but does not need access to the internet, so it should be blocked.

i been using defender pro since 2004. 0 viruses had Norton b4, Norton stopped nothing! to the person with defender pro blocking everything let me guess when u got a pop up saying do u want to allow this and u click no lmfao everyone does this with defender pro and they cry when that cant do anything read b4 clicking everything i have never had a problem and to the tech that cant uninstall defender pro i would not brag that u cant uninstall it lol thats kinda sad. i have my defender pro set to update ever 20 min and doing so i have not had 1 virus! it runs the kaspersky updates 1 of the top virus programs out and yes defender pro has wont tuns of awards to bad dumb people dont know how to set it up!!!!!!!!!!!! by the way avg does not stop anything it does make u think it does lol

Defender pro has shown to be strong on my sony vaio. I found the installation a little tricky because I had to get rid of all my previous antivirus software. It took all the cookies off my computer as well which helped speed up my system. If I attach my ipod will it also protect that? I wasn't sure.

ive been using dp since march 2009 and i havent had many problems it wont update automatically like i want but it has stop all and any virus that tried to come in i wanted to stick with it and get the dp2010 but these reviews are scaring me but ill give it a try i guess?

We have been Defender Pro customers for years now. We haven't had many issues at all, you could call us satisfied customers. They used to be powered by Kaspersky, now they are powered by Bit Defender and WOW, the product was an 8 before, now it's a 10. Keep up the great work, the fact it doesn't slow your PC is fantastic.

The price for this antivirus is a really good deal. Not only was I able to save some money, but it's a really good find cause I can use it on up to three computers. It works for me cause I have a laptop and a desktop. At first I had a bit of a problem installing it, but when I called tech support they were able to help me. Turns out I needed to remove all the previous antivirus I had on my computer before I could properly install it.

For only being $20 it performs better then i though. Sure it might be harder to install then other programs but the tech support is nice and patient with you. Plus they speak ENGLISH!!!! and not a heavy indian accent. Boo hoo for the people complaining about having to wait for support! Well you have to wait for Norton and Mcafee as well plus there most of there support is not free unlike Defender Pro! Sure you might have a few less problem with Norton and others but there should be less since they cost two to three times more!

Defender Pro is a great anti-virus. I got the 15 in 1 and it worked really well. The bonus for me was that it worked on 3 computers for the same price. WHen I had checked Norton and McAfee, they cost more and only worked on 1 computer.
Since we have 2 laptops and a desktop this turned out to be a great deal.

I bought my Defender Pro 15-in-1 2009 at Wal Mart around 7 months ago, and have nothing but good things to say about it. When I first installed it, my computer was running very slow, but then I contacted tech support, and they saw it was Norton still on my computer. They were able to help me get that removed, and I have had no problems since.

Well, Ive had DP 15-1 09 for about 6 months now and I say it works great, in fact I would give it a 5/5 if the scans weren't so slow and if it would detect spyware better because it can find spyware worth crap. DP found 3 trojans on my pc, told me about them on a popup window and said they quarantined them and I have nothing to worry about and for a while nothing happened, my pcs running just fine, ran some file/registry cleaners with it and my pc runs as good as new although it does need more memory as DP does take a GOOD chunk of memory

I bought defender pro and downloaded it with no problems last week.The updates are downloading every hour like their supposed to.I see a lot of people just thrashing the product,makes me wonder if they know how to use it or for that matter how to actually use their computers. Defender pro is as good as norton and tons better than macaffee so take a few minites and read the instructions that you downloaded with this product and it will help you set it up properly.

Defender pro and the sheild deluxe are one of the same. Defender pro is better because you can buy it from walmart and always have the install cd and key. The shield deluxe you have to buy off website and pay 6.95 for a back up cd. Also The sheild deluxe will stop downloading updates and will eventually get a virus....because they know you don't have a backup cd...if you don't have that backup cd your skrewed out of your money. Don't bother with the sheild deluxes costermer service horrible nothing but a headache. Defender pro Awesome better than mcafee and norton and better price. Mcafee puts viruses on your computer. Mcafee was my first anti-virus package and it really sucked oh man! bad memories. Later folks....Defender pro all the way. Im sure there is some bad apple and some anti-viruses work better with other brand computers. Norton is like sony paying more for the name. Don't forget people alot of these people that right bad news about Defender Pro software are prolly paid to belittle it from like mcafee prolly. They try it's all buisness. Don't let them scare you away from Defender Pro it works Great. Again later

I love fixing computers and have no problem. I recomend it to most of my customers and NEVER EVER had a problem with it. I dont know though maybe I got lucky out of the 5 cd's of DFP 15-1 I bought at walmart.

Well, if you are running this progam, word of advise, do not run the file shredder portion of the program. A file shredder program is supposed to remove any files you have deleted off of your computer, so recovery programs cant retrieve them, in other words a clean up program, well Defender pro not only started deleting files off of the computer, it also deleted system files too, (files that were never deleted in the first place)then it went in and deleted registry entries, leaving the computer completely unusable. The program is suppose to protect, well it destroyed, its not an anti-virus, it is a virus.....

I got this Defender pro package, paid $349 for it and I tried to use the online service and when I finally made contact with a agent they argued with me over having bought the product even with the product code. Then the agent got hateful with my daughter who was trying to work with him. I ended up having so many viruses on my computer I had to buy another one. THEY NEVER ANSWER A PHONE!!!! TAKES HOURS TO FINALLY GET THROUGH TO THEM, IF YOU CAN GET THROUGH......DONT BUY IT.

This program is just delightful. The tech support is such pure joy to talk to. They answer the phone so fast and I have never had to wait on hold. I would highly recommend this to anyone in the world.
It has given me 100% protection 100% of the time and I use my computer all day long and even all night long. I have never been one to post reviews but this AV program has me so overjoyed and filled with happiness that I must share it with all of you on this great site.
How great a feeling it is to see something just work and work and work. And when it breaks down you get to speak to such great people who only purpose in life seems to make sure you are taken care of.
