When I placed my order July 15th, it indicated that the items would ship in 15 business days. (They charged my credit card upon completion of the order.) That would indicate that they would ship Aug 5. On August 5, I checked and they indicated they would be shipping in 20 business days from the date of the order. On Aug 8, I called and got the busy speech and left a message. 3 Hours later they did call back and they said there was no reason it would not ship on Aug 12. It's August 13 and they didn't ship yesterday. I will call again Monday, but I would not recommend them to anyone.
I think the 5 star reviews of Tumbler Depot may be a little suspect. Either they are employees/friends of TumblerDepot or they ordered one of the limited quick-ship items. My experience is more similar to the 1 star review by Kristina on 12/17/2010.
Website - the website is fairly easy to use although it opens new internet windows way too often when browsing the products.
Price - Price is the only reason I didn't buy directly from Tervis Tumblers. TD has a lower $ amount to qualify for free shipping. I think they may have been 2 or 3 dollars cheaper on my total order as well. That may sound cheapskatish, but when you are paying ~$20 a cup, everything helps.
Customer Service - I did get a confirmation email of my order shortly after I placed my online order. When checking the status of my order online, it always said the same thing. Basically if status says ordered, your order will ship out in 12 business days. That is weekdays only. I too called a few times to get an update on my order only to get voicemail. I got a call back the next day after I left a message. This gives me the impression that TD is a smallish reseller operation.
Turnaround - TD mentions on all items except the few quickship items that the item is custom made and
will ship out in approximately 12 business days. I got my shipment notification on the 15th business day after the day of my order. I must say that is disappointing.
I think I will try Turvis Tumbler directly for any future purchases
Do not order for this site. I placed an order with them at the beginng of December... Here it is almost 20 days later and I have no tumblers in hand. When you try to call you getting a recording stated that all reps are busy. Leave a message and they will call you back. Guess what no phone call back. So try to email yep no repsonse to that either. So needless to say I get to show up for Christmas parties with no presents.
