I signed up for the free trial and was charged at 12:01am for a full year of service. I didn't want the year, not even a month, just forgot about the expiry date of the trial. No expiry warning came (of course) though they e-mailed me repeatedly during the 14 days for other things. I contacted them to cancel with a couple hours and they have flat out refused to refund the charge. Absolutely NO service, totally cold and form letter sounding responses basically telling me that I signed up for it, their hands are tied. I will NEVER use this company every again and I am going to spend the next 365 days of my "subscription" advocating for a boycott of Smilebox. Thumbs waaaaaaaaaaaay down for Smilebox. This company uses your credit card without permission. I had a monthly subscription to smilbox over a year ago and cancelled it. Recently I signed up for the free trial, did not get any notification from them and because they had my visa card number from my previous purchase they went ahead and charged my card for an annual subscription that I did not way. I would have considered a monthly like I had before but they took advantage of the fact that they had my credit card on file and charged it for an annual subscription. Have not been able to rectify this issue with them. They say they won't credit my account. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS COMPANY. Beware of giving your credit card to this company.
Smilebox charged my credit card $39.99 back in Sept 2013 w/o my permission. I sent them an email to cancel a few months later b/c they sent me an email stating there will be an increase in charges. I emailed them back stating it's too much money for the little use I do on Smilebox, so please cancel. They never did!! I thought they cancelled and refunded my credit card full amount. It wasn't until this past Sept 2014 that I received and email stating that, 'your membership has expired and please renew your credit card number.' I never gave them permission nor never knew I had full membership for 2013 to 2014. I only used them for 1 year. They STOLE $39.99 from me and now I'm battling them to get my money back. Three emails later and Steve(from Smilebox) said, "NO, refunds". I, like Natasha, will broadcast the scam business of Smilebox quietly 'stealing'/charging our credit cards. The only way to stop them is to cancel your card. This is how I found out they were quietly charging me. If it were not for us to shutdown our card due to someone in another state using our credit number for theft purposes, we wouldn't have found out that Smilebox charged us again until next year...LOOK closely at your statements...they are sneaky and should be out of business for bamboozling us and everyone else!!

Nothing is actually free when you make them pick a plan at when you try to use Smilebox. Let people try it for the 14 day trial then if they want it they can purchase after the trail is up.
