I have emailed Nutraceutical Sciences Institute (NSI)and also written a hard copy letter to NSI asking about how soy is used in its Mega EFA Omega-3. NSI has chosen to not respond to my inquires about the soy contents of its products. It is like NSI wants to hide something from the public in regard to its Mega EFA product. Why is NSI not upfront and honest?

I am an extremely satisfied costumer. I spend a lot of money on vitamins, but I am in great health and I look 20, even 30 years younger than my real age. Now, isn't it a living-breathing-walking prove of the effectiveness of the NSI products? Also, you can't beat the price of Vitacost. When guys of the age of my 35 years old son still whistle when I pass, I humbly say: Thank you, NSI..Thank you VitaCost! And no, I am NOT paid by the company to say this!!!!

After doing heavy research on the actual possibilities of fruits and vegetables being attainable in capsule form and being able to compensate for the lack of real fruits and vegetable on a diet I dare to say that evidence is very skeptical of said statements. Most companies, specially multi level companies that sell this kind of product, overprice and overhype their product. Forcing the possible customer to sign up for auto delivery and denying "a one time buy" with no further obligation. That is baloney any way you market it!

NSI sells a complete line of supplements, vitamins, etc., and claims their quality if top notch! Some of the reviews of their products are highly encouraging and their prices are among the best for these type of supplements. The main question, of course, is if they work, do they do what they claim? With the power dollar advertisement these days you never know who to believe. I once submitted a review to Vitacost, who sells mostly NSI products and apparently they did not wanted to include it among their customer reviews. Why? Because I was voicing my doubts as to wether fruits and vegetable can truthfully be reduced to capsule form. My review must have been a little too challenging to the mentality of not promoting dissension among the ranks, kind of like the black sheep of reviews and since they reserve to right to who they publish I was banned. Yet, they happily will sell me anything I want. On that aspect of our relationship they have given me the green light. I am not allowed to submit a review with controversial material regarding their products. So, with that said, I can not say I will not buy from NSI. After all, their prices are highly competitive and their statements of quality abundant. So let's say I am on the market for fruit and vegetables in capsule form (the next best thing to the real deal) I still will say that NSI 42 Fruits and Vegetables are very nicely priced and if they deliver only half of what they are supposed to I think I would still be ahead of the game. 3.5 Stars!

NSI and Vitacost.com

NSI was the original manufacturer of the same product now being sold by and under the Vitacost label. Vitacost.com being an online distribution/marketing point for otc supplements, many of which are made by small companies who just cannot compete on the open market with the expensive advertising of much larger sellers, against the very large otc companies.

I have take that same CoQ10 since 1998 making this my 20th year. At that time I was able to verify that the CoQ10 being used was from one of only two Japanese manufacturing labs who made the quality 'Japanese pharmaceutical grade' of that item.

I started with a 200mg dosage (body weight then @ 220lbs) and graduated in 3 steps over those years to my current and final dosage of 800mg daily and all with NO noticeable side-effects. When the tocophenol/tocopherol supplement option became available I switched to that improved 'natural source' absorptive option.

Their cost for this product was and still is VERY reasonable and my wife also takes it, but at the 200mg level.

I could write a book on all the obvious benefit incidences, all documentable from my VA records. They started off with surviving a rupture and instantaneous appendix collapse. My surgeon told me that "The last time he saw an appendix like mine was on an autopsy slab." From then on and for anout 14 years I had overlapping, serious health involving five surgerical procedure and two total knee replacements and treatment for cardiology issues and stent implantation and chemotherapy (R-CHOP) for Non-Hodgkins follicular lymphoma, large 'B' cell type and aggressive grade 3B cancer. And that's just hitting the high points. Almost NO discomfort side-effects from that very caustic/toxic chemo formulation and only took one day off work after(every 21 days) 8 rounds of chemotherapy.

With a natural, positive attitude and healthy sense of humor I came out the other end of the tunnel of serious health distresses "with a wink and a smile", which is what I told the docs would be the result.

I could only have had that confidence for one reason. Since I'm not that guy wearing blue-tights with a red S on his chest I KNEW FOR CERTAIN that it had to be the CoQ10 doing it's thing EACH AND EVERY TIME, because of a continuing, uninterrupted, series of positive results.

Pros:
  • Excellent quality product
Free shipping on $50.or more orders
Periodic % discount & BOGO free offers
  • Cons:
  • Quite frankly none!

Iím rating this company low based on the fact that I bought 2 different medications (DHEA and Pregnenolone)which are supplied in identical packaging. Both capsules are exactly the same size, color and shape without any unique identifying marks on them to distinguish one from the other. This could cause a serious overdose situation if one mixed the capsules up. Iíve never heard of a company packaging 2 different products identically. Iím now wondering if Iím buying a placebo and if all of their products contain the same ingredients. I found this really disturbing and don't want to buy any of their products ever again.

Ordered 2 containers of 240 capsules of Alpha Lipoic Acid & Acetyl L Carnitine. After about a month, the capsules in the opened container started to melt together. I called but was told that such was normal. If the little capsules are low quality, I am very concerned about their product.
