Horrible Customer Service & Inability to Correct Their Mistake

I ordered my picture-mount Christmas cards at the end of November. Plenty of time, right? When I received them on Dec 12, they had a random family Christmas picture printed on the front, left out names, and repeated the same line within the message in place of the names. I immediately contacted finestationery.com. They acknowledged the cards were incorrectly printed and told me they would contact the vendor and would have the cards overnighted to me once completed. Because they indicated the cards could be sent by the 18th or 19th, and I already had my pictures printed, I agreed to the reprint. I emailed the company the requested pictures of the incorrect cards on the 12th. I emailed again on the 16th to check on the progress, as I knew I would need them in hand by Friday the 20th in order to get them addressed and in the mail by Saturday the 21st for them to arrive by Christmas. However, I received no response. On the morning of the 18th, I called the company again and was told they would email the vendor. I insisted that they call the vendor instead of email them and was told they would do so and get back to me. Several hours later, I had not heard from them and called again. I was told the person in charge of my order needed to look into some things before contacting the vendor and she would call me back that day. She never did. I called first thing in the morning on the 19th and was told the vendor was not responding to them and they could refund my money. That was all they were wiling to do after all my time, money and frustration. They should have been on top of that vendor from the moment I informed them of the problem and insisted my order go in immediately and had the correct cards sent to me. Instead, their solution was to blame it on the vendor. Their website states as follows:

They were woefully inadequate in meeting my expectations. And they certainly failed to address my concern. Maybe finestationary.com should dump the vendor, because I am definitely dumping them.

UPDATE:

The company emailed me today stating, not only was I getting a refund, but they were sending the reprinted cards at no cost and I should receive them today - which I did. However, I had sent out cards already this morning. While a little too late, I do appreciate the effort and they should get credit for attempting to rectify the problem. So I would give them 3 stars. I have bought many cards and stationery from them in the past, so I do believe the incorrect card printing was a fluke. I do hope they will be more responsive to customers in the future, though.

    Buyer Beware!

    Had an issue with the quality of a stamp (mounted crooked). Took the time to send an email with a picture attached, showing the issue. Asked for customer service to just let me know that they received the e-mail. Twenty-four hours later and I've heard nothing. I'm forwarding my original e-mail and hope for a response soon. So far they are 2 for 2 :( Poor quality + poor customer service = no more shopping at Finestationery.com! There are so many other companies out there - find one with great QUALITY and great CUSTOMER SERVICE!

    I have not even received my invitations yet but I feel compelled to let others know about my experience thus far.

    There are MANY DELAYS. Be aware of this as you plan to order. Proofs take 3-5 days so they say and in actuality, I've now been waiting for 11 days! No one calls you or notifies you if there is a delay. No one offers to expedite shipping or hurry along the process and they are quick to blame "the vendor" for any delays you encounter. No one responds to emails - other than an automated message. You have to call.

    Also, on some invitations (though they do not disclose this) they print their LOGO on the back! Mine do not have this, as I asked in advance but others have complained about this as it is downright tacky.

    I would recommend ordering from Kate's Paperie in New York. They will match prices and give you better service and more options.

    Update: They never sent my proof and I had to cancel my order. I still have not received confirmation of my refund.

    I had a bad experience with finestationery.com this year and I would not recommend using them in the future. They were delayed on getting my cards to me initially and then my name was misspelled. They said they would call the vendor to fix it and I would get the reprints in a couple of days. That didn't occur. I called back and was told that the vendor sent it by ground and not overnight as had been requested. Finestationery takes no responsibility for any of this delay - the misprint and the delay in shipping. They blame the vendor. Next time I will just go to the vendor directly. Finestationery offered no additional benefit.
