Notes and Recommendations: New the chart are 3 offerings from Intel: the 1.8 GHz Pentium 4 and Celeron 800/850. It is widely rumored that Intel will drastically cut P4 prices some more in the coming weeks. If the P4 1.4 GHz falls to somewhere around $125, AMD is going to be in a lot of trouble, especially since SDRAM/DDR motherboards for P4's are coming soon. The Athlons are still the best buys- for now. It's going to a brutal market for the chip makers- good news for the consumers, however. Pretty soon you'll probably see 1.33 GHz Athlons below $100....
