Notes and Recommendations: It's pretty clear that AMD now holds a commanding lead over Intel in terms of price and performance. The newly introduced Pentium 4's has very disappointing performance and current P4 motherboards require the ultra-expensive Rambus DRAM. Your best bet would be an Athlon 1 GHz for a high performance system. Go for the Duron 800 for a lower-cost setup.
