Notes and Recommendations:The Celeron 800, utilizing a 100 MHz bus, finally makes its debut at an average selling price of $130.  It needs to fall below $100 to be even competitive with the similarly-performing Duron 800 from AMD, however.  The Duron 850 dropped quite a bit since the last time, as well as the Celeron 766.  The P4 1.3 GHz fell about 10%, but it's still too expensive.  Soon to appear on the chart will be the newly introduced AMD Athlon 1.3 and 1.33 GHz.

Best high-end, best-bang-for-the-buck CPU for this time: AMD Athlon 1.2 GHz

Best value-based, best-bang-for-the-buck CPU for this time: AMD Duron  800 MHz
