CPU Price Chart - July 8, 2001

Notes and Recommendations: Watch out for falling prices! The Athlon 1 GHz is now selling at a mere $100, and Intel is frantically cutting the prices of the P4 to spur demand. The P4 1.4 GHz doesn't look like too bad of a deal now at $195, which is the same price as the Athlon 1.4 GHz. The Athlon 1.33 GHz is a better deal though at $155. The 1.8 GHz P4 should be available soon, while AMD has delayed the desktop version of the Athlon 4 for a couple months. The Athlon MP is not widely-available yet, but should be in a couple of weeks.
