Notes and Recommendations: Intel recently slashed the prices of the Pentium 4, but they are still too high considering that the Athlon 1.2 GHz matches or exceeds the performance of Intel's successors to the PIII. The PIII 1 GHz and 933 MHz have also come down, but so have the high-end Athlons. The Pentium 4 1.3 GHz and the Celeron 800 are still not yet widely available.
