Well- even if you could upgrade to Celeron 900 you're not going to notice much of a speed increase. But I'm pretty sure you can put in a Celeron 900 w/o any problem. With the new low-voltage 0.13 micron (tualatin core) Celerons 1.1 and 1.2 GHz, however, you do need a new motherboard that can deal with them. My advice would be to sell your computer and get a better motherboard/cpu combo. Something like an Athlon XP 1600 should give you a big performance boost.

Question! I have an HP xg843 aka junk computer. It has an Celeron 800 MHZ cpu. Can I replace this
cpu with a 900mhz or faster(preferably faster) celeron cpu. This computer has a
motherboard made by trigem which is proprietory as is the power! Somebody from
trigem contacted me and said to stay 1.0ghz or under. Does this sound right? Should I
be concerned about voltage? Not sure if this has a voltage regulator or not. Just
seeking relief from a painful cpu journey with a safe solution.
