I am losing my mind. I bought an Epson 785epx printer and managed to print one picture with it. I am told it is a timing thing related to the usb port that the printer uses to connect to the computer. It assigns itself as an unknown device, puts a yellow exclaimation point in the root hub, gives me an ntkern error and asks me to update the driver, and then says I have the best driver already. After that the system crashes, rndll has a fatal error and I start pulling my hair out.
I am not very computer literate so any instructions have to be extremely step by step. Don't assume that I know how to do anything. You have to tell me where everything is.
I have an asus motherboard pb3-F and a bx440 chipset. I have windows 98 v 4.10.98.
I do know that the usb ports are on irq 09, and somebody said that I needed to call the manufacturer because it should be on a higher irq, like 12. but I called everywhere and no one will help me.
Somebody else said to get the belkin quadraport card which installs itself to irq 12 and it solved the problem, but there must be a way to do it without spending another 40 bucks.
Thanks in advance for a quick response.
