Century link is a company of Liars. They will tell you anything you want to get you on contract only to change things up after the y30 days and screw you over. I signed up with Century link at the end of March and the only things I asked for were to have a no contact price, a download speed that would accommodate my familyís needs and last be under $60 a month (that is what I was paying at Comcast) From the start I had nothing but trouble. Tech missed appointments, install was 2 weeks late, Sales person bold face lied about speed so I was asked to upgrade to the $100 service to fix it. Again the tech was days late and service was so bad I could download email during peak hours. So for the next 3 weeks I called over 25 times only to get disconnected 24 times trying to discontinue service. Finally I go through and canceled service only to find they had put me on a contract and wanted to charge me $200 to cancel. More BS. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DONíT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY! You will be screwed over and never get what you are promised.

Well I can't believe that Century Link is still in business! What horrible customer service. Don't ever bundle...because if you want to unbundle it is a mess. I called back in April. Cell phone was unbundled but still had me paying for tv and I wanted them to cancel home phone but of course that didn't happen. All I wanted was to keep internet. Well when I got a 198.00 bill I called and of course they were charging me for tv,internet and phone line. Funny thing...I got a bill from direct tv...so now I have to pay them when I already paid century link. When I talked with customer service she said to just pay for tv and internet and to dispute the phone line since I called and cancelled. So I did! Well what a mess that was. Now I have no service because I didn't pay the 198. So I have been on hold for hours, calls have been dropped twice, transferred to about 6 people, was told I should of paid my bill, told that I had to pay a fee for being late (which it was their customer service person who told me to do the dispute), hung up on when I wanted to talk to a manager and asked one customer rep to stay on while she transferred me (which she said she would) , but can you imagine that when a rep answered she wasn't there. I hate doing negative reviews, but so sick of getting pushed around and no help from these bigger companies!

Our internet has been out all day. I called and waited on hold for almost half an hour. I was connected to the telephone repair (despite calling the internet help line). Then, after listening to the rep be rude and sarcastic to me, I was told that they couldn't help me because my dads name is the only one on the account. They are still charging us for internet at this moment, yet are not providing it. They would not even trouble shoot this with me. I never had this problem with mediacom. I could call and as long as I had some information about the account, they would help me. And I could not believe how rudely they spoke to me. I'm currently looking for another isp right now.

nice young man, intermediary from Beacon for century link and directv explained saving money an advantage, payoff to our present service for internet/tv would be done, quoted vast savings over next 2 years, promised better channels, etc, etc. however, after reading hundreds of reviews re same, we chose to stay with our present provider. also, a cousin in town had nightmares with them for months--her comment--throw them out the door. WHAT IS THE FCC doing about this company which seems to be holding many hostage to their service? THANK YOU, CONSUMER WEB SITES.DIRECTV needs to separate itself from CENTURY LINK if they want to remain a player in this market. Am sure they used the intermediary service of Beacon as CL reps could not bring in customers.

I have had century link for 6 months now and the service is literally getting worse by the day. I had faster connection on my dial up, I cannot even watch a movie preview with the current speeds I have. I would never EVER suggest anyone switch to century link unless it was the only option in the area you had, which is why I still have them.

After enduring 12 years of "resetting the internet" because the connection just would suddenly drop, I have finally had the final word with Centurylink. The final straw was the very rude service tech by the name Larry. My home phone service needed repair and I had called for a tech to come out. After listening to Larry complain about how short handed they are I told him that was really not my concern, and he said (and this is a quote) "I'll be there at noon, I'll wait 15 minutes and if you aren't there, I'm leavin'" I have been with my new provider 1 week and I an happy to report no interruption to internet and very pleasant technicians.

Worst internet company. Bill is always wrong (overcharged). Always have internet problems. Service technicians are incompetent and it takes at 3 service visits to fix problems. Takes at least an hour to call 1-800 number about problems. Services are overpriced. Most frustrating company I have ever dealt with.

Don't bundle phone, internet and direct tv, it's a nightmare when canceled. Customer service is crappy. God help you when you do cancel your business with centurylink. No help, if your owed money, pay first and they will send the rest (ya right). Never will do business with them again. Anything is better than centurylink. You would do better with two tin cans and a string.

I had signed up in September 2014, and never received a stable internet connection. I would call twice a week pleading for someone to help me or even send a technician to come assist me. I would be re-directed sometimes up to 5 times before being completely hung up on. One time, a customer service representative LAUGHED at me for asking how her day was then IMMEDIANTLY hung up on me. I never received internet from this company, they then DROPPED me with no warning or notification and then when I called century link to once again ask for some help, they informed me that I owed them money AND had been dropped.
It may be economically efficient, but absolutely not worth it. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a company, DO NOT SIGN UP!!!

First of all, when i tried to set up the services, it took nearly an hour to try and get someone to explain the different plans. I could not understand the individual who was trying to explain them. I use to work in a call center so i know what the job is like so i was very patient....until i was hung up on for the second time. When i finally got set up for the package to be mailed to me, I was then hung up on again before they had a chance to tell me when it would arrive. I finally received it I think 1-2 weeks later, i can't remember for sure. When my modem finally arrived, it didn't work and i had to wait for another week to have a technician to come out. then about a week later i noticed my internet was slow. I checked the speed and i was getting about 1-4 MBPS....I was suppose to be getting 40MBPS, at least that what i was paying for and that's what was advertised. I called about that and to pay my first bill. I was on the phone for over an hour. I was transferred 5 different times and each time i had to enter my account number and verify my account. Every time i asked to speak to a manager i was transferred and had to enter my account number and verify it. I never did get to speak to a manager because i was hung up on 3 times, and no i was not yelling or allowing my frustration to creep into my voice, like i said I use to do their job, i knew it wasn't their fault. The third time i was on hold for a manager and was hung up on, I called back immediately and the service stated they were sorry but the call centers were closed and to call back another time. Now I'm pissed!!!

I have been with them for 20 + years never again. I move to a new town they gave me a phone number that had charges. I told them I was not liable for those charges they were made before I got the number. fought with them for six months they would give me credits and my bills kept getting higher.. do not go with them they will get you and try to charge other people delinquent accounts. Then my number was taken away from me and was given back to the person that do pay their bills. Plus I requested to put a password on account they said they completed that for me. Next time I call they never did put a password on account. Worst company, customer service and ..............

Century Link and DIRECT TV will go out of their way to lock you into a 2 year contract.. but once they have their clutches in you, they ignore you and are virtually impossible to contact. I just spent three hours and SIX disconnected calls.. rerouted through several different service areas and they still don't know how to cancel my order! Hands down, WORST service experience I have had in the last 5 years. The managers in the call center are inept, with a total lack of knowledge of their own product. All that they want to do is argue with you. Save yourself the trouble, time, and money and go with a service that has a true interest in quality and service. If you have problems after 5 pm.. good luck finding someone to help. Cox may be a bit more expensive, but at least they are available to help and can be reached after hours and you can actually speak with a live person. The internet service provider DIRECT TV uses, Century Link, is even worse. They have terrible reviews online and you can not reach them after hours so if your internet goes out.. which is frequently does, you can't do anything about it until the next day ... AVOID both of these companies .. the frustration is not worth it and you won't get reliable service or customer support.

We have had Century Link since it was Qwest. We don't have many options here in Laramie County (Cheyenne) or we wouldn't have Century Link. They are barely better than dial up. Extremely slow, ALL news/music video's keep stopping. Pictures load slowly and come in a little at a time. Pathetic to call this high speed!!

Well, I recently set-up an internet connection at my house through CenturyLink. The process has been incredibly frustrating! First the activation date was a week past what was promised and it still showed up on my bill! I had to drive to UPS store to track down my modem, after a week of no modem showing up. They had the wrong address on the modem package. They have the correct address to send me a bill though. How is this possible? I can't remember how many times I've called the help-line. Once when talking to one representative she understood my frustration and said "How about we send you a free tablet for the inconvenience". I asked if there were any strings attached. She said NO. She was able to get a free tablet for her mom, sister, etc... When that arrived it had a $30 a month contract with Verizon... A contract that I had never seen, or signed! My 4 digit security code to set-up my on-line account was not on my first bill (It is suppose to be there). I again called CenturyLink. Talked to 5 different representatives, for one to finally tell me they couldn't give that # to me over the phone. It had to be mailed. That's fine, except when the letter that was mailed arrived, guess what??... No security code! I just feel there is no one that can actually solve a problem when you call them. They just pass you from one department to the other. As soon as my contract runs out, I will be using a different service provider. If you are thinking of choosing CenturyLink, I recommend you don't.

I bundled my Direct TV with Century Link and had nothing but problems, with my bills. Inconsistent, and added charges, and nothing Century Link would do about it, I would contact Direct TV and they would fix the bill, send me the updated information, and Century Link would still not show a reflection of the updated bill. I now have had Direct TV disconnected for about 3 months, and they are still charging me $30.00 a month for a Direct TV charge, and they cannot explain what this charge is for, only that I owe them $30.00 a month for a service I don't have! I would not recommend them to anybody for internet, or a bundled package.

Century Link is a good company unless you have to call for customer service. Plan to set aside an entire morning or afternoon on hold before talking to a customer "service" representative. Then plan on another half hour to get your issue resolved. I cancelled my service because I had a better deal through my son. I didn't realize that I signed up for a one year contract. I cancelled after 30 days and now I have to pay a $200 termination fee. Be careful and read the fine print before going with Century Link.

I live in Texas where YOUR service is provided. Before I decided to take YOUR service I asked specific questions because I work from home and I need specific specs. YOUR service is not only used for minor pleasure in my home, BUT it is my livelihood because I WORK (hence the word work; paycheck to pay bills) from home. I was told I was able to get service. I was not explained there is an exhaust in the area; too many people that have the service so You are not able to PROVIDE what you advertise. I was told you could meet my expectations. I started service on or around 7/24 and have had nothing but issues from the service. I have had a number of techs at my home several different answers as to what the problem could be and an unexpected date as to when this will be resolved. YET, you have not problem sending a bill to charge me for services I DONT GET! How can you ethically and morally send me a bill when your records indicate the issues I have and am having with the service? Does anyone care? Does the President or CEO of Century Link even know the little people down here are not getting what they are advertising.

Was promised 40 mbs speed by 2 different salesmen "when it became available in my area" which I was told would be within a few weeks as part of my bundle plan with phone. Salesman also told me I could use the email @q.com. Not true. Found out that the 40 was only for businesses and had to use the @centurylink.net email if I wanted an email account. I have "up to 20 mbs", but the most I could get was 12 mbs over different times of the day. Upload speed of only .7 mbs. I was told I didn't need anything faster. The sales person I spoke with today to verify was extremely rude--full of evasive double talk, and wanted to pass me to tech. support to get me off the phone.

We are a small business & have used Century Link for over 20 years and received a call about doing bundling for services for our two offices if we signed up for a contract. We were totally misled about early termination fees. Due to new Federal & HIPAA changes, we had difficulty getting our patient claims through and we needed to change our internet provider, and in doing so, had to change our service in order to save by bundling. When I called about the fees-I was told $300--not $300 per line-got a bill for over $1,000.--yikes! They claim that they mixed up our two offices. When I tried to get this fixed, got the run around between billing and customer service for over 3 months. No one would help and I did several dispute letters to no avail---DON"T EVER use this company if you want service or correct information. I am switching my home and other office awell as my husband's company--I will never use them again!!

I signed up for 10 meg and could barely get 2 megs. Worse than that I was continually disconnected. I called tech service several times with no resolution. I was finally told that they did not have adequate equipment in my location to support the requirements. Today I learned that they are charging me $200 in early termination fees even though they did not provide the service I signed up for.

It was the worst experience I have had with that kind of companies. the service is really bad (speed and customer service) after 1 bad year stuck with them I tried to cancel the service but it was really hard to do. they keep saying they will but then they do it different day of the day you requested and if you try to fix it then they just connect it again but you will need to call again and fight for the reconnection charges and to get it disconnected again. having people saying ok. is done but in reality they don't do the disconnection request. so they just keep you calling about it over and over. the speed was never more than 1/.25 what is really unacceptable. and the bill was as high as the bill I had before in another place with Verizon but at least with them you pay for high speed no for that poor service. don't chose it. really bad service in overall.

Two weeks ago today, I requested an additional phone line be installed in my home. It didn't happen. So, I called Century Link's customer service, which took a whopping 20 minutes on hold before a representative finally picked up. The representative explained that my order had been somehow cancelled by their "system" and scheduled another installation ... a week later.
The second installation appointment played out like the first. Nothing was installed, and it took another 20 minutes on eternal hold to discover that their "system" cancelled my order. Again.
So, now a third appointment has been made ... EIGHT DAYS FROM NOW! Not tomorrow. Not the day after. EIGHT DAYS FROM NOW.
Never in my life have I come across a company more inept than Century Link.
Furthermore, ff a customer has to sit on hold for more than a minute or two, then the company is choosing not to employ enough employees. Clearly the company would rather make their paying customers wait (and wait) than pay wages to an appropriately-sized staff.

so I call to get my service hooked up and on the day it was supposed to be hooked up it never was. they say they connected it yet the funny thing is don't they ever do a test to see if there lines are working at a rental? apparently not so I called customer service telling them of what was going on and they had no idea and couldn't help they said. they said they would send someone out on Monday. If it was a problem inside my rental that I was going to have to pay 85 dollars I told them they are crazy because I don't own this place and I'm not paying anything. I'm already paying 20 dollars for them just to connect this by flipping a switch. Why would I pay another 85 dollars? Plus my 2 phone jacks in my rental are both working. And we just bought this modem/ router the day before & it works elsewhere. So apparently it's in their lines outside. If after looking at the lines outside and it can't be fixed then I am NOT going with the company. So we will wait and see if they can connect it outside correctly. If not goodbye Centurylink.

Waste of money, complete garbage, I could yell ones and zeros into a rotary phone and have faster more reliable service, drops are constant, outages last for hours and often days, speeds are pathetic, pings are worse, customer service is a farce.

We've had Centurylink for about a year and much of the time it runs fine. But, sometimes for days on end we just can't keep it runnung. We have to reset the DSL modem and reboot it. Sometimes this lasts a day, yesterday I reset it about 5 times in 10 minutes. Customer service just tells us to reboot but no other help.

Rating of 1 is too high for this company. I do not know how a place like this stays in business besides the fact that they have people over a barrel & no other options. Don't know how they live with themselves or sleep at night by the way the screw people over. I have a business that I used Centurylink for my internet. They scheduled a technician to come out & connect service so I cancelled my other service. Then they never showed up, no call, nothing! When I called they told me that they ran long on other jobs & will come out the next day. The next day (Friday) didn't show up again, no call again! I called & was told the same thing except that it was now the weekend so someone would be out on Monday. Unacceptable!!! Trying to run a business here and once they finally came out won't give you any kind of a break on the bill or anything for all the inconvenience - UGH! A year later I moved to a new home out in the country, didn't want to use Centurylink but they were the only ones that showed that they had service in the area. Set up for a technician to come out & guess what, they didn't show up & no phone call (seems to be a pattern here). When I called the first time they told me the tech couldn't find our place (easily found with any GPS). Then why didn't he CALL??? Called again to talk to someone else & was told that a tech was out to the area but checked the box & it was to capacity so they couldn't service us until they updated the box - should take about 3-5 weeks. 2 months later I called to check on the progress - still a couple weeks out. 4 months later they finally set up a technician to come out & set us up. Appt was set for between 1-5. I called at 2:30 to make sure someone was still coming they said they would page the tech & he would call me back within 1/2 hour - no call. Called back at 4:30 to find out if someone would still be coming today, was told the previous CS rep lied because the tech doesn't have a pager. Current CS rep called the tech & he said about 5. Finally showed up at 5:30. Went out to end of driveway to find the line, came back & said that they only cover line up to 600 feet & it was 1500 feet from our house so we'd have to pay to have new line buried. Now mind you I asked every time I called to find out if we had to pay to have line ran & was always told "No, anything outside the house was covered in installation". The cost to run the line was going to cost over $1200. They had been out there to update the box & knew where we lived so why didn't anyone give us this info before???? So now after 4 months of PAINFUL conversations with horrible lying customer service reps, taking 3 days off of work to sit around & wait for horrible techs that don't show up & won't call we have nothing to show for it. We would go with Satellite but my husband needs a more consistent connection for his job, guess he'll keep working from our business in the back room. So frustrating!!!!!! Horrible Horrible business - boycott them if you can!

We lost home phone line and internet line the same day as our neighbor had their internet line installed. A repair ticket was started on March 2nd with a repair date by 7:00 PM on the 8th. I still have no phone line, nor internet line. I have literally spent hours calling and waiting for answers. I have been promised return calls by the company as well. To date, I have nobody contact me. A subcontractor came out on Saturday and checked my line. His report was that my lines must have been hooked up wrong in "the box" at the road. He left my driveway to repair the lines, or so I thought. He never came back, didn't call to give me the report and I still have neither. I am about as fed up, as I can possibly be! Unbelievably horrible customer service! If it is not repaired by tonight, they will lose a customer. I hope that they make enough on the single internet line they installed for my neighbor, because they will lose the money from both of our lines.

I have never had a worse experience with ANY business than with Centurylink, and it's on a consistent basis. I have to call every two weeks to correct the crazy crap they pull, and the customer service is nonexistent. They make a mistake on my bill EVERY MONTH and then charge me a late fee even though I've been signed up for AUTO PAY the whole time I've had them. It takes an hour long phone call every other week to finally get transferred to someone competent to get the fees reversed. Additionally they had me pay extra to fix one of their mistakes, and it was supposed to be refunded back to me in December. It's now MARCH and even with a confirmation number, they keep "forgetting" to apply my refund to my bill. I called them two days ago to try to confirm the refund, and I got an idiotic girl who told me that my SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER is an inadequate way to verify that I'm the owner of the account. Her supervisor backed her up so I had a friend who is NOT ON THE ACCOUNT call and talk to a different rep who gave him all the information he wanted. Some security... The only reason they're probably even still in business is because there simply isn't any other internet options out here.

I have used the service in 2 different locations, worked for one of its vendors. In all honesty the service is only comparable to local providers, if not worse placed on a service to dollar stand point. It boasts a dedicated speed but is never so. Majority of the discounts require an auto pay where they can take money directly out of your card or bank account, while the contract says price subject to change (even in contract) and will definitely go up after 1 year promotional period. Majority of the people will never make sense of where the additional fees and surcharges come from as it's never once went over during the set up process. Worst part of it all, customer service line ALWAYS take longer than an hour just to get a hold of someone, who will likely not be able to help you resolve your problems or value your feedback. At the end of the day when you do have to cancel they will charge a cancellation fee equal to the fee when setting up service, and also will charge you for a modem fee of 99.99 dollars unless you have the receipt for when modem is returned, usually months after terminating service so you would likely have no records or proofs of return (and they will not check that a returned modem in the inventory list is yours). Please try to avoid a company with such vile policies, if you can that is.

I live in a rural area. For months now we have had horrid internet service. Speeds are often slow but that it not the worse part. The connection just drops every so often. Some days it is much worse than others, but it is dropping here and there basically everyday. I try to work from home using RDP to connect to servers about 1000 miles away. RDP takes very little bandwidth and it can take short drops in service without losing the connection. But a 5 minute drop in internet service is plenty to cause my server connections to totally reset. When it happens a several times before noon, I may as well go read a book. Work just can not happen in that environment. I call CenturyLink and get the same song and dance every time. It must be my modem or my wiring or some such nonsense. They'll send out a tech mañana. Last time he never showed up. They just closed the ticket. I talk to others in the neighborhood and they are seeing the same thing. This is totally absurd.

I called customer service to find a program that would lower my monthly bill. The lady set me up with a program that would lower or at least prevent the scheduled increase. The bill came. Not only were there agreed upon one time fees but the monthly bill actually rose. I called them back, and the man said he would put me back on the my original plan but there would be one time fees. So after two one time fees and a month of higher bill, I'm out $200. But I have what I started with. I called to complain and the guy at escalations (complaint dept, I guess) said I should be happy because I have the lowest rate available.
Bought: Customer service added a phone so I would qualify for a discount. But the discount was higher than previous billing.

Century link canvassed my neighborhood a couple months ago. The representatives name is Hayden. He told me I could get the phone, Internet, and TV (with 4 boxes) "bundle" for $86 a month before taxes and I could have a free 30 day trial period. In addition I would get a visa gift card and $50 off my first bill. I received my first bill without the $50 reduction in price, after several hours on the phone I was able to get them to decrease my first bill by $50. I just received my second bill which is $423. After another couple of hours on the phone, the representative told me that the price I was quoted did not include fees for DVR, HDTV,and the monthly fees for the boxes that I have. Apparently there's some one time fees of $50 per box and monthly fees of $10 a month for each box you have. And my 30 day free trial, They back billed me for. Buyer beware!! I was never once told about these hidden fees, their representative initially told me $86 would be my total monthly charge before taxes.Now I am stuck with a year-long contract for my Internet and TV and the actual monthly price will be $170 a month. With the one time monthly fee of $423. To top it off the service stinks I have to unplug my TV modem at least five times a day because I lose my signal. This is a classic bait and switch operation with dishonest representation of this company. Stay away from century link at all costs.

century link is a cheating lying company and you can never get hold of customer service was on phone 2 hours then they hung up paid a month in advance then when cancelled they charged me another month that I paid didn't even have service so I called them again was on the phone for another hour they said they would return my money the next week I get a bill for 600.00 said they didn't get the set top boxes back they made the label for return so if there was a mistake on the label why is it my fault or as screwed up as they are is it setting in their wear house dam crooks worst service I ever had they must be hurting for money or want a big bonus

poor customer service. called to pay the bill, last payment done on the phone. I asked specific about the bill and how far it will service. Before the end of the service I was sent another bill for the middle of the month I already paid for a 203.00 dollar bill for a bundle package of 54.00....I have called several times to get the details of the bill and question the bill itself. I was told by 3 different custome service agents that I had no account. And to hold please. For a total of 2 hours I was on hold. I was given a new agent each time with another 5 min of personal info to only be placed on hold again. After 6 agents I finally was told my account was fixed. Funny but the bill was due. A disconnect charge, and some other added monthly service I did not sign up for was charged to my phone that I was told I had no account with century.I agreed to a bundle plan of 54, phone and internet. The bill for a month of service was 203 not even close to 54 dollars. I called to question the charges and why a disconnect fee on a phone that was never disconnected. Again placed on hold and no answer but told she would put on a supervisor. This is a company that I have had for years. It appears that this company is not customer friendly nor does the bill reflect the service agreed. The internet is problematic with sporadic ability to access works intermittently. Unable to use phone and internet seems the bundle of mess. Complaining about that does not help.. This company has become crooked. Important to share my experience about this company I hope this gives direction to others in seek a company that is customer servicing and not providing a shoddy service and charging fees that are not part of bundle plan.

I signed up for Century Link about 2.5 years ago and they asked me if I would like to buy my modem for $99.99 or rent to own at $6.99 per month. I chose the rent to own option. After the time was far past for the modem charge to be taken off my bill, they started raising the price a dollar at a time over a few months. I called and asked to get it removed and they told me there was never a rent to own option, it was a permanent lease option so I would keep paying $8.99 now per month. Of course I told them that's not what I was told and asked if there was any way to have the modem purchased. Yes, they said, for $99.99. I told them I've been using this modem for a couple of years and it should be cheaper. Nope, not an option. Buy a new one or keep leasing indefinitely. I told them I wanted to cancel but they told me I would pay an early termination fee because I had said I wanted to accept a new promo price on the service 10-15 mins before. I told them that service hadn't even started yet but they wouldn't budge on canceling it because they had "already submitted to order". And my modem was still at the higher lease price. Ridiculous.
The other problem I have had in both homes I've had service from them is we can only get internet to work when our modem is plugged into one specific jack. At our first home, we had to have a tech come out several times because our internet kept going out completely. Eventually they disabled all phone jacks except for the one our internet was plugged into in order to make it work, so we were not able to have home phone service. When we moved, the same thing happened. Luckily we can still use other jacks for home phone this time, but the Internet will only work when our modem is plugged in on my kitchen counter. I hate having all the wiring on my counter space but that's been our only option with Century Link. The internet has been consistently spotty for the entire length of time we've had it.
Also, after our initial promo price, I called in to get a new promo and was told there were none available. I called back that same day to speak to someone different and they told me there was always a new promo available. I got signed up at the lower price. The last time I called I talked to the customer service rep who said there was no promo available, so I was transferred to their loyalty department where there was suddenly a promo price available. Their internet service is terrible, their customer service is worse. We will never use them again.

After 5 years I decided to cancel my service. When I called I was told that I still had a contract and cancellation would be $200. I was surprised that after being a customer for so long that this was the case. I called in June and was told that I would be placed on a vacation plan, which was a lower price, but in order to cancel I must call on Sept 3rd, not a day earlier or later, otherwise I would still have to pay the cancellation fee. When I called on Sept 3rd the person I spoke to said I could have cancelled before then. I said that I wanted to cancel in June. There was no response and no offer to give any credit for unnecessarily having to pay for three months of service which I did not use. I will never go back to Centurylink and I will tell everyone that I meet Do Not Use Them.

Since Centurylink was the only dsl provider in my area I was forced to have their service or go with a very expensive cable plan, after putting up with intermitent, sloowwwww service for too long I had to move and returned their equipment paying the agreed balance due. Now they are billing me for more money at my new location and won't stop no matter what. the customer service is a horrible voice maze that is insulting to the customer. waits of 45 mins to over one hour are to be expected and the reps that answer are helpless and just there to vent to with no resulting remedies. if your want to deal with a monopoly who is a dollar driven scheme for customer domination , they are your company, you'll be sorry

Horrible! Horrible! Had both cable and internet. Service kept freezing. Had the techs out several times and was never resolved. We had data usage charges from our phone carriers due to no wifi in parts of our house! Was quoted a price and bills were $30.00 higher. Was basically called a liar by their uneducated, unprofessional customer service supervisors. Cancelled them twice, was never done on their part so continued to get billed and then was sent to collection. Something is really wrong with them. We have Comcast now and get the same bill as was quoted and the bill does not change "according to my billing cycle". Would give them a 0 rating but that was not an option.

I have called two months in a row due to problems and they can't answer the questions I have, they just want to sell you more products. If you sign up for auto pay, don't expect Centurylink to be able to help you or answer any questions by calling them. And don't combine Directv with your Centurylink billing. If directv has issued you a credit due to billing incorrectly, don't expect to get that credit through Centurylink. You'll be screwed.

Started service oct. 15th, paid deposit $100.00. no installation fee. Package deal was suppose to be $99.98 per month. Fast forward November's bill comes. Total bill $380.00. Called Centurylink.
Their customer service rep tried to tell me because of my billing cycle fell 2 days before the previous billing cycle they charged me for 2 months. Ok. I am aware cable companies bill ahead. I expected to pay more my first bill. But let's do the math shall we? $380.00! needless to say I lost my cool-bigtime because these people will take you for idiots. I did customer service for 10yrs when our training classes to 6weeks. These people are not trained to help you. I feel as though they are put on the phone and they just ad-lib and are probably used to verbal abuse. No matter how many time I said 2 months service cannot add up to $380.00, she totally ignored me.
Called back couple days later to cancel service. Found out they charged me for 3 months of service from September to oct..days I didn't even have service, got escalated-my bill comes down to $230.00. Fast forward Dec. bill $135.00. Called Centurylink again, this was not the price I was promised. Bla,bla,bla. Another incompetent CSR. forget it. Better than $380.00..Jan and feb bill $135.00 each. paid that.Couple weeks later letter from Centurylink, they are going to be increasing my bill. Oh no. Time to cancel.
Called them & cancelled my service before my billing cycle already paid for was over. I even returned my equipment before the date of cancellation-I just wanted their big bulky stuff outta my house. Fast forward 2 weeks later, I get a letter from Centurylink. I OWE THEM $40.11!!! Called them and to be honest to how unhelpful and poorly trained their reps are I was not expecting much. Spoke to a guy who told me THEY cancelled my service for non payment and I have only paid ONE bill! HAHAHA,for four months of service I have paid these people almost $700.00. He didn't even look at the billing and is becoming belligerent with me. Hung up because this guy was seriously ticking me off, called back and told the CSR to escalate the call. Here comes the supervisor who tried to justify why I was paying for service for the next billing period when service cancelled 4days before next billing date. She back-tracked several times when I caught her in lie to try to cover herself. I even burst out laughing at one point at the blatant lie this lady was telling.
I eventually told her that they can keep it and I'll chalk it up as a lesson lesson-learned. This company had bad ratings and was even told by sister who had them before not to do it and I still did. and I paid for it. I swear she was about to cry when I told her "you are working for a bunch of thieves and your trying to justify you guys stealing my $100.00 deposit". So incompetent she was at trying to get me to believe her lies and even laughing at her fumbling to even read the billing statement-they can't even read the billing statement so don't even call them to explain it to you....needless to say I paid the $40.11 because I read some of statements and I didn't want them putting it on my credit.
I have never in my over 25 years of being a consumer ever wrote a review-never. I'm not one of those people who write reviews just because. But I must tell you-STAY AWAY from CENTURYLINK. Dishonest, untrained, non-issue revolving company that will only rob you blind.

call in told to cancel my internet .they gave a confirmation # and two week later. the charge my account for a full $39,99. when i call them they told me they had no record of cancel of internet but did had record me call in.they sent back a check for 14.00. this bs. this had they steal money. to all who cancel. check everyday make sure they cancel. this is stealing they are not a good company

and send a person to fix it and could not fix it he work on it for 1 1/2 hour he returned the following day he fix it service work 3 dates and stop working again

they never hooked me up and i still received a bill. The installer was a lazy piece of garbage he said he could not do it due to a poor signal but i think he did not want to have run some lines. Stay away the customer service is horrible they put you on hold and never return.........

I was with Cox for a year and paying for and internet that never worked, when I called them the first time they blamed my router, I went to buy a new one, after a month the wireless connection went off again. They finally sent me a technician,, and of course they charged me $80 dollars, for replacing their modem..Hello..?
I finally decided to try Centurylink, and Thanks to God my problems are all gone. My speed is super fast, and my wireless connection don't go and come anymore..
In six month I have just call them once, and the technician helped me to set my fifth computer very fast.
