Uship does not screen the service providers carefully enough to limit scams. Uship providers should not be allowed access system and customers if they do not produce relevant and valid state and federal licences, permits and Insurance. This should be mandatory and verified by Uship.

uShip does not work!

Order number/#635910214 The uShip concept does the not work. The first accepted bid never answered his phone. So I cancelled. The second accepted bidder withdrew three days before the ship date. uShip has no control over its vendors. Avoid this operation.

Uship does everything short of giving scam shippers an award. They will not do anything to support customers who have been victimized by one of their listed "shippers". There is much evidence to suggest that Uship has even chosen to remain silent rather than warn existing customers after being informed about ongoing criminal fraud. LSA Logistics who defrauded many Uship customers was sheilded by Uship and victimized users were repeatedly stalled from being able to communicate with each other by a Uship manager. One principal of LSA Logistics has already been arrested in California. Uship didn't help at all until they were threatened with disclosure to the public of their behavior.

At least half the shipping respondents using Uship are phonies. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

THIS SITE IS A BUNCH OF CRAP. BEWARE-YOU HAVE THE PAY USHIP 13% OF WHAT YOU BID THE CUSTOMER. AFTER THIS IS PAID THERE IS HARDLY ANYTHING LEFT OVER FOR THE FOLKS ACTUALLY TRANSPORTING THE FREIGHT. ALSO-TRUCKERS WITH NO LIC AND INS ARE ALL OVER THIS SITE AND NOBODY IS CHECKING THEM. THIS MAKES IT HARD TO COMPETE FOR THE REST OF US WHO PLAY BY THE RULES.

I bid 94 shipments, 22 were still active, five went to another shipper and the remained, DECLINED/ SHIPPING NO LONGER NEEDED. But to add, I got 5 shipments off site since nobody wants to pay their outrageous fees!!!!

Google "UShip Scams" for just a taste of what UShip is really all about. UShip continues to perfect the art of deception in the customer(Shipper) false sense of security arena.

You can search the BBB out of Austin, TX for UShip's contact information as well.

Problem? They are a NEUTRAL venue and ONLY take your deposits upon bid acceptance. The deposit collected is kept entirely by them.

They charge the Carrier and the Shipper for each accepted bid! They disguise the deposit as a Transaction Fee from the Shipper and a CREDIT to the Carrier's account. Bottom line is that they collect on/about 15% of every accepted bid amount.

Additionally, most of the Pick-up driving so called Carriers and FAKE companies, are simply private individuals breaking Federal laws. If something goes wrong, it's strictly a Civil matter at YOUR Expense!

Why do you think that the costs are so much cheaper on UShip than anywhere else? It's because the Federally mandated insurance overhead, hours of operation, DOT physical, logbooks and all other mandated requirements are being neglected by the illegally operating Carriers.

YES, pick-up trucks when used in a "For-Hire" capacity and crossing state lines are required to follow the same rules as semi's from vehicle markings to stopping at weigh stations etc....

Want more information? Visit the guys at Stop Illegal Trucking dot Com for free. They'll be more than glad to help you.

Run the other way when you see USHIP.... bad business all around

Order Number ***5269....After posting on Uship to find a carrier I received all kinds of bids. I actually did not go with the lowest but did check the companies out not only on Uship but also on Transport Reviews and with the Better Business Bureau. While the pricing I went with was suppost to be in the range it takes to move a vehicle of my size on the route I wanted I was not made aware that simply for posting on Uship I was gonna be raped by their charges. Once you accept a bid you pay a 12-20% of the transport up front. Do not be mislead, this does not go towards your transport, it all goes into Uships pocket. Thats right, simply for posting on their site you pay exhobitant amounts. They have no control over the companies that are signed up as they let everyone sign up and it is still your responsibility to make sure they are legitimate transporters. Save your money, request quotes directly from shipping companies, read reviews, check BBB, and remember no legitamate company will charge yoyu anything until your vehicle is picked up. The best ones won't even require payment into upfront. Many want your credit or debit card wen you book, tell them no way, if they want your business they will accept it. They do not need this info to get you assigned to a carrier. Good luck and I hope your smart enough not to use Uship. If you do use uship, once you receive a bid, look that company up online and call them directly to save money by booking with them without using Uship as a middle man.

Pros:
  • NONE!!!!!!
  • Cons:
  • You pay two middle men if you accept a bid from a broker.
They have no control over the companies
    Uship lies to you
Uships fee are 12.9% to 24% of your total costs. This is simply for using their site and has nothing to do with the actual move of your vehicle
    Uship are CROOKS

Yes the critics on uship and it's counterhand fretbay are absolutely right.
It isn't cheaper or better for the consumer.
They charge an enormous fee and this has to be calculated within the NORMAL PRICE,...
And above all,..some small forwarders now even work for a little more than the costprice.
I hope it will be shut down

I am not really sure I am comfortable with this whole idea. I am all for the customer getting competitive rates, but this seems very unfair to many of the trucking companies out there trying to make a living. Quite often they have no choice but to accept a LOW rate to be able to compete with folks working in the industry unlicensed and uninsured. It seems that www.uship.com should require some proof from brokers/carriers of operating authority, insurance, lic, etc.

I am a broker and I have bid on freight and it seems like a waste of time....the shippers have no idea what they are sending, they do not respond in a timely fashion and seem to cancel last minute. I think this whole concept undermines the entire freight industry and do not think I want to be apart of it any longer. I have stopped bidding using uship

This post is to inform not only the trucking industry but also the general public

and various law enforcement agencies of the existence of unregulated

individuals, brokers and companies operating in interstate and intrastate commerce.

There are many small hotshots, owner operators and so called trucking companies that

traverse the nations highways without the proper insurance, and who also fail to follow

mandated regulations set forth by FMCSA.

These companies we believe also contribute to the unreasonably low freight rates which

    all have been experiencing.

Numerous times they have been informed of the carriers that are acting illegally and

turn a blind eye even censoring attempts from legal carriers to inform the shippers of the laws

and authority required to transport in a "FOR HIRE" capacity in their forums and in the

load question and answer sections. Many times compliant carriers have been suspended from

their website for the same actions of trying to inform. Their continued use of illegal carriers

also creates a safety issue on the roadways. These unregulated drivers do not follow the laws the

rest of us must and their equipment is not inspected as the rest of the trucking industries are.

Also these illegal carriers almost always request cash payments from the shippers and do not report

    income to the IRS.

The reason they can offer that is their use of transport service providers (TSP's)

who are unlicensed, uninsured and unregulated by the agencies that over see interstate

and intrastate commerce. Now there are some carriers on there that have complied with

all government regulations, but the majority of their carriers are not compliant and uninsured.

In fact anybody with a truck and trailer can sign up there and start bidding on loads.

Uship does not screen or pre-qualify carriers for compliancy. They utilize a reverse auction

format for the loads posted and this helps to drive the freight rates way below industry standards.

Breeding ground for scams as the site does not check if the people are leagal or not. Many people have had money taken from them and never heard back from the people they "accepted" the bid from. Also all the illegal carriers on this site. So much illegal activity is going on. I would say about 1 out of 10 people who are "transporters" on the site are actually legal and have insurance.

    Great job BUCK.

order number 8637748. To ship a 23 ft. bayliner from Florida's west coast up to Long Island ,New York ..00BUCK did an excellent job , I was very happy with the transport. The web site it self is easy to use UNTIL it comes time to PAY.. I intended on paying cash on delivery, I put money aside so when I have to move my boat it's easy for me without having to put it on a credit card, the web site makes it appear that the (Recommended) method of payment will be just that, then you are directed to a credit card form, by the time you get there you just want to get it done, so I ended up paying Via Credit card.. The web site should make a clear choice to pay with CASH if the customer wants too...Other than that Way to go BUCK A JOB WELL DONE!

    Pros:
  • Once I paid and was put in touch with the transporter
  • things went smooth..
  • Cons:
  • The pay section needs improvement. There should be a CLEAR bullet to highlight for CASH payment. C.O.D. or something to that effect..

    Uship are thieves by association

The transporter (SLO from Corona, Ca) held my product hostage until I paid him $400 extra from what we agreed on your website. Uship team knows about this and did nothing (TaylorG is the horrible rep that I corresponded with case #274524) I wanted a refund of $400 because I did not give the payment code to the fraudulent transporter.

He called uship and they gave it to him. I already paid him $400 in cash and I have a receipt.

The transporter gave uship fake documents, I proved them to be fake and they keep referring to them as being valid evidence.Very frustrating

    order number 274524

    Pros:
  • ease of reaching transporters
  • Cons:
  • They do not protect the consumers
  • they only protect the transporters. Half of the transporters are crooks. Therein lies the problem

Uship is alright in my book. They gave me, a common man trying to get started a good chance to do some work. I'm not a scammer I do carry minimum Ins. just enough to cover freight. So my rates will be cheaper than most. That doesn't make me a bad shipper. and that has nothing to do with Uship.

Yesterday 8/30/10 I used ALB Transportation Co. (NY)and was apprehensive as it was the first time and I used them and have had some very bad movers in the past. They did everything they said they would do.I give them 6 of 5 stars. The price was good, they arrived on the exact minute that they estimated and they were friendly. They kept in contact after the bid was accepted by me. I contracted during late afternoon and by 9:45 the piece of furniture had arrived at my home. The owner Tony was great and so were his drivers. I felt they cared about the shipment and wanted me to be satisfied. They checked the item before accepting and wrote down any problems. They were on my side. Amazing service. In fact, the best mover I have ever used! They tried very hard to please.I was extremely satisfied and would use them again. Jan F.# 3099

    uShip driver Harkey Transport

We are a Christian organization who provide living options and community services for the elderly. We were recently blessed with two new vans to assist in transporting our elderly residents to and from doctor visits and our wonderful senior outings. We decided to donate our old vans to our sister location in Missouri.

We “Googled” shipping companies and one of our first results was uShip. We liked the website and contacted the company on a Tuesday morning. uShip contacted us quickly and after a brief discussion we had a shipment scheduled for pickup on Thursday morning to be delivered that afternoon. Easy peasy, or so we thought.

Tuesday morning came and went with no shipper arriving. We contacted uShip and discovered that the truck driver does not actually work for uShip but is contracted to drive for the company. After several calls, uShip said that the driver was held up in traffic and should be here soon. That was acceptable so we waited patiently.

At about 2am a truck pulled in front of our assisted living quarters with the radio blasting some very offensive music. Our residents awoke frightened and confused. Our staff unlocked the front doors to investigate. They encountered an intoxicated man in a large truck with the name Harkey Transport stenciled on the door.

The Harkey Transport driver rolled down the window and began to slur some profanity laced version of English. He then opens the truck door and in an attempt to climb down, he kicks several pornographic magazines to the ground. According to my staff, these materials contained images of a pedophilia nature.

The staff asked the man to leave. The man began yelling and making threatening gestures frightening our staff and further traumatizing our residents. We finally locked our doors and contacted law enforcement. The entire event was a nightmare.

Shame on you uShip for sending a devil in the form of Harkey Transport to our door!

    Terrible, terrible company

Order Number #14867084 I have used uShip 4 or 5 times in the last month, there seemed to be a problem with almost every shipment. The final straw was the last shipment where a price was accepted, the items was shipped, and then an amended invoice was sent with an extra $60. When I questioned this, the shipping company claimed the weight given when they accepted the shipment was not the actual weight of the item......I know I had overestimated the weight by probably 60lb as it made no difference to the quoted price, (I checked several weights) and know for a fact that they were lying about this, but now I have no way to prove this. I contacted USHIP and they sided with the shipping company. I will NEVER use USHIP again, NEVER recommend them to anybody, on the contrary I will make sure that I let everybody I do business with know not to use them.

  • terrible
  • bait

  • switch

    Bad idea, disaster will strike!

    order number Mike22523. uShip {310983}

I had a disaster for going with uShip for my movement! I was looking for local mover and through bid I got one. It was had to confirm with the person for a month! Finally he confirmed but before the day of shipment he said he is in Texas (I am at New Orleans) - why he is in Texas in the first place ... because they don't care. Mike (the mover) propose to 12:30pm instead of 9am .. fine consider that still I will be penalize for this! Then during the move day he said I have flat types and break down and I am in Texas ... I request can you do it tomorrow ... no response ... I am stupid ... it not predictable from the beginning?! Now I am paying high penalty ... I believe they do lot other jobs to maximize their profit having no commitment and esthetics ... uship hosts them ... also I do not understand why uship take the booking money from customer in the first place ... uship should rather pay the customer with their booking money to secure their service!!

    Pros:
  • Give hopes for fair price.
  • Cons:
  • Disaster will most likely strike and it is meaningless to go for such company and its hosted providers
