I ordered a 4xl duster on 3/26. I am fully aware their tracking service does not work. I am also aware there is a longer period for larger sizes. I ordered this fully aware of delayed shipping.

My beef is that after a month of checking with my order confirmation number, there was nothing but "Ordered on 3/26." So on 4/26 I sent an email to "Peter" as per the website, and inquired on the status. No big deal. Im patient. I did not get a reply,and yes, I checked my junk mail. But on 4/28 the status changed from "ordered" to "shipped" on 4/28. This implies it was shipped right? I thought, "cool. it'll be here soon."

I call today to get a tracking number, again as per the website instructions, since it is now 5/9. Even the Postal Service doesnt take THAT long from AZ to NY. When I asked the gentleman who answered if there was a tracking number, the man's reply was, "In big red letters it says our software does not work." Well, no kidding, I can read quite well. I cut him short, told him Im aware of that, I was calling to get a tracking number. He asked me what I ordered, I told him a 4xl grey cotton duster. His reply was, "Yeah, I told you in my email there was a delay." So he's personally aware?? Well, I doubt that as I had checked my email and junk folder. He seemed rather irritated, so I told him, "Look, I can read and Im calling because the status on my order changed from "ordered on 3/26" to "Shipped on 4/28." He says again his software was broke. Well? So what? If its broke, why the change in status? My thoughts are that he never sent any email and just changed the status. He added, "Oh, we order from Pakistan, and it takes 4-6 weeks. With what's going on, who knows now." (Fine, I read about possible delays, Im aware of that.)

I doubt whatever he said, I never got an email reply to start with, and then get an irritated response as though Im an idiot that can't read or follow instructions. Whenever I get my order, I wont be ordering them again...and it has nothing to do with broken tracking software.

Im patient as long as I know what's going on, but if I get a run around, they wont see my money again, so that's 3 complete outfit orders that will be going elsewhere.

So if it wasnt shipped, someone changed the status. Why? Just to shut me up? And then act like Im a moron that can't read? Please....

Still Haven't Received It --10 Weeks Past Order Date

Order #148.., Chandler, AZ I ordered a .22 Leather Belt Gun Holster for $153.05 on June 17th and have not yet received it. I was told by Peter that since this was a special item, it would take 6 to 8 weeks for delivery. Once the 8 weeks past, I called in again and was told that it would take 10 weeks. It is now past 10 weeks. I called in today (Aug. 27th) and was told by Peter that it still has not come in from California (earlier he told me it would come in from Mexico) and that I should call back on Monday. I am beginning to feel taken. I hope to post another review soon if I receive the item as promised or if get my money back.

Failure to ship or refund

Ordered 1 Bolo Tie and Collar Tip set and one Bolo Tie Invoice No. 15636 on Aug 27 2011. Did not receive in Sept as desired for a GIFT and contacted Peter via email and phone who indicated Backorder was involved. Subsequent emails and phone calls unanswered and have never received my purchase. Now, its almost Dec 2011 and I've submitted a Dispute to MasterCard. Can service be any worse?

    Very helpful, I wished I had looked for reviews before I ordered. Ordered three bolo ties first week of November and I have emailed this Peter guy four times with no response. I am getting so upset. I really don't even want the merchandise, if it every arrives. I just want my money back ASAP. But can't seem to get in touch with Peter.

    I ordered a total of 6 items from these people on the 20th march 2012 spending $336.40. After several e mails my package finally arrived 3 and a half months later. Upon opening i found 4 items, only one correct as ordered.

    I ordered a book NOT RECEIVED

    Ordered a fringed jacket NOT RECEIVED, THEY SENT A PULLOVER FRINGED SHIRT.

    Ordered a suede possibles bag NOT RECEIVED, THEY SENT A CIVIL WAR KNAPSACK.

    Ordered a brown apache scarf NOT RECEIVED.

    Ordered a burgundy apache scarf NOT RECEIVED, THEY SENT A BURGUNDY BANDANA.

    Ordered a brown calico bandana HOORAY! THE ONLY CORRECT ITEM.....BUT AT THE COST OF $336.40 IS SOMEWHAT OVER THE TOP.

    I of cause sent the infamous Peter an e mail of complaint, who showed a complete lack of interest in the matter.It is now the 31st of July and I am no nearer to receiving my correct items which I paid for in good faith and trust. I can only assume that because I live in Great Britain that I will never receive the items I require because at the end of the day he's had my money so why should he care.I STRONGLY URGE ANY POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS TO SHOP ELSEWHERE AS I WOULD HATE FOR ANYONE ELSE TO BE RIPPED OFF THE WAY I HAVE. SO ONCE AGAIN I CAN ONLY URGE YOU NOT TO HAND OVER ANY OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY TO THIS COMPLETE AND UTTER CONMAN

    DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING. I wish I had checked out the review rating before ordering from this company. If it is a company! It seems more like someone selling out of the trunk of a car or back of a old van. From the reviews i'm reading looks like i'm screwed. I haven't received any information for tracking my order and cannot get any one on the phone or email. I paid up front with my Visa card and now i'm really uneasy about this person having my information. Looks like I have lost all way around.

    DANGER this company is a scam! I have contacted these people several times with no response. when I did get in contact with someone it was the old owner that sold the company 3yrs ago.with his help I was able to get a phone number and correct e-mail address with no prevail. still no response. there is no rating for this type of scam I am proceeding with criminal charges because I have all contact info on who owns the company. my order number is #48524. killen alabama 35645

    Paid shipping for item never shipped.

    Through PayPal, On 6/22/14 I paid The Old West Gallery $70.36 plus $15.50 S&H ($85.86)for a vest (order #35700). By 7/15/14 I had heard nothing concerning my order, so I e-mailed Peter Nowell inquiring about the status of the order. He said that the vest was on back order until September. As of September 24, still no vest, so I called Peter and cancelled the order. I had to e-mail him again a week later to remind him I had a refund coming.I received a credit today (10/01/14) from Old West Gallery to my PayPal account for $63.36. Although, my vest was on back order for over 3 months and never shipped, they kept the $15.50 I paid them for shipping and handling and they also charged me a 10% restocking fee on an item that never existed! Reading the reviews on this site of other peoples' experiences in dealing with this operation, maybe I should be happy with at least part of my money refunded by these scam artists.

    DO NOT order (can't say buy, because I had to file a dispute just to get my money back)This is the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. I paid via paypal, so he got his money then. I received no information regarding tracking, so after 9 days I emailed, only to be told the pants I ordered were discontinued. I selected another pair to replace those only to be told they would not be available until Nov. I asked him to refund the pants and ship the rest of the order. No information forthcoming, I emailed him (Peter, who else) again asking for a status update. He then replied the vest was not in yet and would be available on Friday. By this time I am totally frustrated and tell him if the complete order is not by Monday, I want a total refund. I then filed a dispute with paypal, who removed the money from him and held it until the dispute was resolved. The of so pleasant Peter then sent me an all caps email saying I cost him $50 when paypal took the money back. So it would appear that the lovely Peter is more of a conman than an actual merchant. He has an F rating with the better business bureau. I wish I had loooked up reviews before ordering from him, he is to be avoided at all costs.

    Terrible Customer Service and Slow Shipping--if it Ships

    I placed an order for a hat band 1/31/13 and received a confirmation immediately. (Invoice # 26837) On 2/7/13 I contacted "Peter" to inquire as to the status of the shipment. On 2/11 I received an update saying it was shipping that very day. On 2/22 I contacted him again because it does not take 10 days to ship anything from AZ to OH. No response. So on 2/26 I sent another note saying I still hadn't received the product and I expected to hear back from by 2/28 or I would contact the credit card company to dispute the charges. Well, that sure got a response. He wrote back "I had to order a new one for you but because you think I am a thief I just refunded your money BYE." What the....?!? No wonder he has has an "F" score the the Better Business Bureau. TERRIBLE customer service and slightly shady. AVOID AVOID.

    Very slow to ship orders and less than polite customer service

    I ordered a shirt for a fathers day gift a week or so before and after 2 weeks still had not received my order. I then sent an email via the link in my order confirmation to a man named Peter asking when I should expect my package to arrive and did not get any response. Later that week, I received an email indicating that my package had shipped. (Did they forget to ship it and were reminded by my email? I still should have gotten a response) So, after 2 more weeks (A month from order) I finally got my delivery however the shirt was missing an important button right from the front. I called and spoke with Peter who said a bit rudely " so if I send you a button would it solve your problem?" I said yes it would and it is the large button with the star on it. He said he would send it right out. A week later the wrong button arrived so I called Peter yet again and he replied that he does not have any buttons and does not stock them. (Um, he had the wrong one sent to me in the first place) so I told him that and he said that he never sent me anything, that he only told me to call the manufacturer. ( Not true but whatever) so I asked him for the manufacturers number and called them personally to order the button. So much for customer service and quality control! Needless to say, I would not reccommend purchasing anything from them and will never place another order myself. Especially when you can get the same merchandise anywhere else on the web if you just google it. That was my experience with The Old West Gallery. CT. July 2011. Order #148..

    Cowboy Hat

    I placed and order on 27 September and was told the hat would be about 4 to 5 weeks due to being a custom order now it will be 6 to 8 weeks. I have checked back to see the status of my order but as of yet there has been no change to the status have made phone calls but keep getting the recording and now I and see they no longer carry this type of hat. We'll see about that. As of yet no hat and I doubt if I will see the money back. Can't say as I will be making any other type of orders from this company and would not suggest any one else does ether.

    Cowboy hats

    I ordered 2 hats as a gift.They state on the site that they ship in about 4 days unless its a specialty item.When I checked the status,they shipped it 9 days after I ordered.If you order from this company....be prepared to wait.

    DON'T ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS SITE

    On their website I ordered an abalone shell bolo tie with gold scrolling and black leather. On February 4 I received an email with conformation order number 49127 that said ordered one abalone shell bolo tie with gold or silver scrolling and black leather. I didn't want any silver scrolling, the photo I clicked on the website was with gold scrolling. So I call the number given twice leaving messages both times with my name,my phone number and confirmation number stating that I want the gold scrolling. On February 10 I received another email saying my order has been shipped. I received my order on February 14 with the silver scrolling so I read their return policy and it says all return orders must be sent back with a Return Merchandise Account Number so I emailed them via their contact us page on the website to get one but never heard anything back. I ended up mailing it back to them in its original package and still to this day March 25 haven't received my money back or what I ordered so I'm out $45.90 and going to file a report to the California better business bureau. I had also read no returns after 14 days in the return policy which is ridiculous because it took two weeks for my wrong order to get to me here in Texas. Taking your money(stealing) and shipping what you didn't order is their only business and judging by all the complaints I've read about Old West Gallery it's the only business they know how to do.

    The Old West Gallery

    Ordered a Fringe Jacket for $216 and called them and e-mailed them with no response from them. I am out $216 on Order # 48048 now and have been in communication now with the California State Department of Justice Attorney Generals office about them. Already received confirmation back from the Attorney General office. This company looks to now be located in Saugus, California. Looks like they at are a shady company and will doe everything in my power to get them, and what they have done to so many trusted customers who have lost a lot of money with Old West Gallery. Next step Federal crimes act and will be pursuing the Feds now.

    5" brim Gus, Tall crown cowboy hat

    Excellent is the word! The new management has turned this company around. The hat was everything I could have hoped for and with excellent customer service! I would not have recommended the old management but the new owners are dedicated to quality and service! I would recommend them without question! This is the neatest hat in my collection! A real Tom ix look at an affordable price!

    Missing item

    My order was missing a belt buckle and sent emails and have not even gotten an acknowledgement. I would not recommend this company as they do not seem to pay attention to the order contents. I would rate a 0 if it was an option. BUYER BEWARE,

    Old West Gallery review

    I ordered some George Strait shirts and a leather coat from Peter. He contacted me and said the shirts had been discontinued. He had patience and worked with me as I made up my mind to get some Stetson shirts that were in stock. The shirts were great and the lambskin fancy coat was very cool as promised by Peter. He said I'd love it and I do.

    The saga continues from below. On the 7th august received a cheque in the post for $35.55 as a refund for the book that's out of stock, however, still the problem of $286.50 spent on 4 items still outstanding since march. I send emails and don't receive an answer that makes any sense.ONCE AGAIN I CAN ONLY URGE PEOPLE NOT TO SHOP AT THIS WEBSITE AND SAVE YOURSELF ALL THE HASSLE AND STRESS THAT SEEMS NEVER ENDING.

    The day after my previous complaint, it was placed in shipping according to UPS tracking. Processed on 5/10, delivered today 5/17. You may withdraw my complaint ID 122720.

    I am now a happy camper. I guess the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Thank You.

    Continuing from below. FINALLY, on the 3rd of September my shirt and 2 Apache scarves arrived, almost 6 months after I originally ordered them. Apparently they were sent to the wrong address.After all this stress and hassle I will certainly never shop with this company again. Any other items I require in the future will be ordered from other companies where I'm sure I will receive a far better service.
