I am afraid swoopo is not what it really makes it out to be, it cost an awful lot to use, it cost 50p a bid, and bids are only 10p at a time, so it will cost you a fortune, my understanding of swoopo is that it is a dirty horrible scam, what prays on vulnerable Internet users. please watch what you are doing.

I rarely have a public moan about things but Swoopo has driven me to it. Apart from the other comments here, I have done some research into the so called RRP of the items sold on Swoopo. In many cases the price obtainable from online stores is a fraction of the RRP. It seems to me that it is more cost efficient to shop on the internet for the same item rather than lose a lot of money on unsuccessful bids. I would steer clear of Swoopo.

Swoopo is ok if you use your brain and dont just bid, you have to use a bit of strategy and wait for the bidders to dwindle and try and bid at the right time, but the problems arise when you bid in the last seconds, it's fine bidding in the last seconds all through the auction but at the crucial time you place a last seconds bid and the countdown freezes and your bid (lets say 2 secs) is not accepted and you lose the auction, this has happened to me on 9 occasions now. When I complained, I was told it was internet lag and there is nothing they can do, after 4 more mails I was virtualy told its just to bad.

The unfair bit is bid butlers can bid last second but single bids cant. I do have a strategy for bidding last second, it makes all the other bidders waiting in the bakground show themselves which enables you to gauge when to bid or hang onto your bids a bit longer. if you do a search of other forums you will find the is the main cause for concern.

I won a DS Lite on Swoopo....hooray! Unfortunately, 2 months and several e-mails later i have neither a response from Swoopo (aprt from the automated) or a DS Lite. People who say you cannot win are wrong but what is the point in winning if you don't get the goods anyway???

Swoopo is a complete rip off, their pricing and costs are hidden deep in the help section, they send automated responses and do not get back to you, the whole set up is gambling with very little chance of winning. You can easily end up paying more than retail for things and after spending all your monet "bidding" you still have to buy the item and get it shipped.

Avoid like the plague

Although it may seem a scam to some, there is an element of risk, but that is the price you pay. I can state that it is not a scam, but it is one of the least fair systems out there. People do win, and people do loose, you have to keep control of you bids and know when to back away from an auction.

Personally I am waiting for Price Plummet to start up. They sound like a system which works well.

Again there will be winners and losers, but according to the page they have up, you can use skill and features to manipulate the game rather than just hitting bid all the time hoping that you going to win. Oh, and the bidding brings the price down.

They have a comp on to win a PS3 aswell.

Swoopo, Swoopo, Swoopo. If I never hear that name again it will be too soon. I stumbled across this site and I thought "Bloody hell, look at all the bargains that you can get" I quickly rushed in and purchased £50 of bids, I thought of all the stuff I could buy with that and still have money left over. I tried bidding for a DS lite for my daughter and bidding and bidding and bidding ! OMG - What a con !!! I honestly do not believe that anyone actually wins (other than Swoopo). I made everyone of my bids at the right time but nothing, then I stop for whatever reason and then the auction finishes. In total I put in £100 as after I lost the first £50 I thought "God I have to win something to compensate me for the first £50 I lost - but no - not a sausage. I think it is a bloody good scam. I would love shares in it thats for sure!!

As they say if it looks too good to be true it often is and I think this applies to Swoopo.

Keep away !!!

Complete rip off. you pay the bid, and they trick hundreds into the same. only one person gets the item and IT WON'T BE YOU.

This is not an auction, where the highest bidder wins, it is a lottery.

YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR MONEY

YOU STAND NO CHANCE OF WINNING

YOU ARE A FOOL TO EVEN TRY
