I have had Straight Talk for awhile now and its GREAT for the price! I do wish they had more phones and better customer service. If you have to call them just make sure you have some extra time because there hard to understand but if you give them time they normaly get the problem solved.

I love the service provided by straight talk. I would like to upgrade my phone but they are a little pricey. I have been with straight talk since they came out and I recomend them to my friends, exellent when your on a budget. I do think you should be able to use the minutes up that you pay for.

I think straight talk is wonderful. But there is a few minor glitches.... Like the good new phones, if they have them at all, are extremely expensive. You also need to sell straight talk cards in more places then walmart. Its a hassle for my family to visit there every month just for that. Anyways thanks for creating such a good deal w/ out a contract!

I have been a Straight Talk customer since November '09 and think that its fabulous. Yeah, sure my r451c shuts down unexpectedly from time 2 time but that's a Samsung hardware issue and btw it's a feature loaded non smartphone and as such impervious 2 most new cell phone virus. nice price on hardware just dont get suckered into a lower cost phone such as the lg 220 as its basically useless. no cam, no multimedia- a waste of $40 american. with the r451 you get a kickin media player, megapixal cam, real nice bluetooth package incl a2dp! Customer Service isnt nearly as bad as Ive heard about. ive personally witnessed their blossom from hardly discernable indian babble 2 almost perfect english every time I call. rarely does a company offer such radical changes 4 the better w/no change in service/hardware costs. if you can afford the Finesse you're an all around winner, I'm anticipating mine in the next 2 wks! Straight Talk F-ing rocks!!

The plans are great.The minutes plan roll over the minuetes if you renew before the end of the month. The cost of $30.00 is great as there is no added tax whenyou buy the card at walmart. No dropped calls for me, it is as verizon. My only coplaint is I wish they had more high end phones for sale...thenit would be perfect!

The actual service and phone is great but dealing with Straight Talk about problems is the worst thing I have ever had to do! It took me 5 Days of talking to them no less than 3 hours each day just to get my daughters phone turned on and then had to call them another 2 days for them to actually get the right service put on the phone. If I didn't have to deal with customer service EVER I would be very happy with Straight Talk

I was comparing Straight Talk with Virgin Mobile for a cheap phone plan with unlimited everything. StraightTalk came out to be cheaper per month. I got the Samsung Finesse R810C to take advantage of the unlimited internet/web. So far I'm happy with the phone and plan- fits my needs well.

i love how cheap it is - otherwise i woulda ditched the phone a long time ago. my internet only works five percent of the time, my texts are delayed half the time, and even when the internet works im only allowed to go on like five websites. they didn't mention that when they boasted on their website about "unlimited web". but like i said, its really cheap - 45 a month. so i just suck it up most of the time.

BE CAREFUL WHEN BUYING A USED STRAIGHT TALK PHONE.
I haven't actually activated my Straight Talk phone yet. I bought mine used, and didn't know that the serial number on the phone is automatically attached to an account for the previous owner. I tried to activate it and was told I needed to answer the security questions the previous owner had put in place. That was a little surprising. It would be nice if the company would let you know that about the phones, or maybe put a different method in place.
So I'm currently trying to get in touch with the previous owner so I can actually use the phone that they sold me. It's super inconvenient, but maybe the low price will make up for it once I actually start using it.

Now for the reason I am giving 4 stars.... I have had to call customer service once to change my boyfriends number and the customer service was HORRIBLE!! they read from a script and can hardly speak English nothing aggravates me more than to call a company and speak with some one that I cant understand... for all I knew they sold me a car :) any way that is my only complaint that I have I love my phone and the service it gets!
DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE NON ENGLISH SPEAKING POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Straight Talk is a great service. It uses Verizon towers so wherever you get Verizon, you should be able to get Straight Talk. That being said, their customer service isn't the greatest. They are owned by Tracfone but keep the Customer Service separate. I have better luck when calling Straight Talk than when I call Tracfone for my kids phone. However, that isn't saying much. They have a set script for all troubleshooting as many calling centers have. Their people are not well educated on the phones.

The service itself seems a great deal. I have been on Straight Talk for 6 months. My phone leaves something to be desired as it just shuts off randomly. I'll upgrade someday as that is a hardware issue.

I gave it 4 stars because of the service itself. I have terrific connection and never drop calls. Just hope I don't need customer service.

a decent phone, it sucks that i can't use my normal mp3 sites to get ring tones [it says unsupported content type and they're mp3 files] and i have to have my friends send me them instead. camera is decent, $45 a month is nothing to sneeze at, the browser leaves something to be desired. also lack of a memory card slot is a pain.

I have been having severe issues with my new Straight Talk phone. They could not answer my questions, gave me the run around, hung up on me, and made me wait a combination of 2 hours to speak with represenatives ( which of course have a hard time with English), and they never got to the underlying problem. I want a damn reinbursement from this horrible company. They dont do the right thing. For a new company you would think that their Marketing stratagies, and customer service would be top notch to help them build their name. Some dynamic company they are going to be. UGH! I am so unhappy and have read that there are many more like me. The word needs to be spread. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! They will not help you, and when you ask for compensation you "the customer" have to call back within 24 hours ( they should be following up with you for a resolution plan) and you "the customer" must find out what they are going to do for you. Im going back to my other service provider. I'd also like to point out that they kept trying to blame Verizon for the technical issues. One the issue was that every time I went to make a call the phone had an operater come and and say I had no minutes, please keep in mind I bought a 30 day unlimited plan and have only had the phone 3 weeks, additionally they never got a legal contractual agreement to drop Verizon's name as their service provider. I think Verizon should know Straight Talk is blaming every problem they have on Verizon. What a disgrace. The company really needs to look at their strategy and figure out whats important to the company. Retention of your current clientelle is key, you need to leverage that inside track and get them to network for you. For example if they would have reolved my problem in a fair and just way I would be of course praising then, instead... look at me. Im with them three weeks and I already hate them, and I will continue to spread the word that they suck!. Why? Because they did not help me in any way and would not do anything to resolve a simple issue.

i brought 2 of these phone for me and my wife. also brought 2 30dollars card. we had a verizon cell before it works really good, but i have to pay around 53 dollars every month to get 450 mins, 250 msgs, for one phone, but now i only pay 60 for two and both have 1000 mins and 1000 msgs. so it seems a good deal for me.
i actived my phone with a new number, it was ok, nothing really happened.
but when i actived my wife's phone with our old verizon numer, then it just could not work. however, i thought i might have to wait, but i waited for days it still not work. so then i try to call the support from stright talk, for the most of the time, i can't really understand what the people talking about, i think they are talking to me from somewhere in India. and then, everytime i call, its the same answers: ask my name and number, then give me a case number and tell me they need talk to supervisor, so i was on hold, and then tell me call back 24-48 hours. so just like that, the journey begins. i been calling everyday for almost the past week, everything i call, i get the same route, even i tell them my case number, they still ask me my name and phone number, and samething they put me on hold to talk to their supervisor, then tell mewait for 24-48 hours. this must been the longest 24-48 hours in my life. i ask them will i get the same answer next time? they just choose to not answer that and keep telling me to check back 24-48 hours, so i never get answer from them.
so now i kind of lost in this situation, and don't know what to do. people and friends been calling me on my old number and of course, no one gets through.
i just hope someone can tell me what should i do.

I would have choosen 0 but I wasnt given that option. Everyone should get the word out about how they trat their customers once they get their money and how poor their technical suppport is. I have been on day two waiting to have my phone activated. the got my money as I bought a prepaid card from Walmart (dont try complaing to Walmart they just tell you to contact Tracfone) Called back today and was told try it again in 24 hours. Asked to be compensated for my days and was only told we do not compensate. Informed them to just refund my money and they wont do that either.. Doesnt matter if you paid for a service and they can fix their own glitches!!! I contacted to BBB & FCC. Everyone should do that as well to make sure that they get reported. They are ripping people off and something needs to be done about it.

When I first got the phone they gave me a number that belonged to someone else already. It took them 2 hrs and several phone calls to fix it, that was after I had to wait until there call center was open. I just purchased my second card, refilled my minutes yesterday and the phone is disconnected today for no reason. After I get this sorted out I am done with them.

DONT GET STRAIGHT TALK! sounds great..$45unlimited usage but what isnt great is the constant disconnected service for no reason at all and the fact that they actually gave away my number one of those times...and anytime u speak with CS it takes a min. of 1hr and sometimes more before they can fix the problem. Also Internet service doesnt work, they fixed this once but when they shut my phone off for no reason AGAIN, it stopped workin and they cant fix it. CS is hard to talk to but worse they almost refuse to let u talk to their supervisor. One guy actually got back on the phone and pretended to be the supervisor and when asked his name, he hesitated tryin to come up with a name. The only reason i have stayed with them is that i cant loose this number right now. If you want a service that you will loose ur service at any given moment, spend hrs talkin to CS to solve a problem, and understand that u will not recieve all the services u pay for...then i guess this is the service provider for u. If u choose to go with them anyway, good luck and hopefully it works out for u cuz if so its a good deal. I am a real person, not employed by the company or its affiliates. These problems are real and I would rate them a 0 if it was an option.

I do not believe the STRAIGHT TALK service is for people who do not use texting as a means of communication. The voice service is awful. I was using the phone in an area that was supposedly covered or in the "service area". Through the entire conversation there was a buzzing noise like a prehistoric mosquito and the person talking to me was broken up so badly, I felt that I was having a conversation with myself. I contacted STRAIGHT TALK as I have only had the phone & service for 6 days and asked if there was any chance of getting a refund on the minutes. They trouble shot my phone, and it did not fix the problem. They offered to send me another phone to replace the one I have, however, if that did not fix the problem, I would have to request a refund from them, mail the phone back and wait 7-10 days for a refund. I opted to keep the phone that I have, return it to the store that I purchased it from and lose the minutes I purchased. As soon as I get my SIM card from AT&T, I will be going back to them. I feel that this service is designed more for texting than actual talking. My neice has it and she is perfectly happy with the service. Live & learn.

It seems to me that salespersons for at&t, sprint/nextel, and so on and so forth, have decided to get together and attempt at returning business to their stores. I tried Straight Talk and I LOVE IT!! Yeah, call center sucks. I had to ask "What?" 100 times, but everything else is perfect. I travel for work, I ALWAYS have a signal. No phantom mailbox messages, no dropped calls, that is what I experienced with OTHER networks. Since I got Straight Talk, my brother, sister, brother-in-law, mother, and best friend have also switched to Straight Talk, and they have all bought the more expensive phones than me :( so it's my turn to upgrade phones, which apparently will be disastrous but hey, IT'S 45 FRICKIN BUCKS A MONTH FOR EVERYTHING HALF THE PRICE OF OTHERS. DON'T BE STUPID!!!!!! lol, have a nice day, and don't be scared, if you can speak pakistanglish or ask "What?" until the guy decides to quit muttering the same stupid announciation, you will be fine!!! lol.

I said "Don't be stupid!" which is pretty egoic of me, I'm sorry. Please consider this phone. I feel like if I go to sleep Straight Talk might not be there in the morning. If everyone had it, I would feel safer!!! LOL. I purchased a Straight Talk phone with unlimited monthly service to prevent monthly overages and costly bills. I borrowed his phone for the day and couldn't believe the coverage and call clarity. All this for $45 a month! I'm switch myself!

I really love this plan. I dont have the best credit so I never thought I would be able to get a phone that I could talk text and use the internet without costing me an arm and leg. But, thanks to straight talk I can. THANK YOU!!!!

My only issue is paying so much for ringtones. They should give you a free one now and then. Especially for good customers.

Service is ok - it took a lot of patience sometimes, but over all - it works. I've decided I do NOT like LG. Any info for the 290 is a pain to find. Still trying to figure out how to transfer it's data to my PC. (I broke the screen and can't see ANYTHING!) :( The plans & no contract are well worth dealing with the customer service dept.

I received the new Samsung Finesse for the holidays and I love it. The service is great, since it's using the Verizon network and it's nice to have a touch screen phone and pay 1/3 of what I would do with other companies.

When I first switched to straight from at&t i thought i was going to be disappointed. However it was just the opposite, the coverage area is pretty much the same as verizon's prepaid area, which is SMASHING MAN!! I seriously have not found a plan like this and i have been looking at prepaid lines for quite some time. A++ in my book.

I have been a Straight Talk customer for several months now and love it. I have the $30 plan which costs about $32 after tax. The coverage is fantastic. My phone works flawlessly, and it's great not having to worry about how many calls or texts I do. I only make about 300 minutes of calls a month anyhow, but I'm saving about $12 over what I was paying with Verizon, plus I get 30MB of mobile Internet access which works well. Viewing web pages on a phone isn't as good as a PC, but it can be helpful if I need to look things up while I'm driving or away from a PC. I haven't had the opportunity to call Straight Talk customer service, but I have heard bad things about them. In order to avoid porting my number over from Verizon, I got a Google Voice number and have calls to the Google Voice number forward to my Straight Talk phone. I would not hesitate to reccoment Straight Talk.

Im A new customer to straight talk phones but, I live in a town where the reception does not work. I live in a town called Jackson. its about 115 miles south from reno. The reception does not work up here and it would be nice if Straight Talk would have working towers for reception here as well. It would be a perfect ten as far as the phone goes. Other then that I have no complaints. But to whoever reads these reviews, please try and get reception in the areas around Jackson and Martell California. (95642) thank you for your time.

When I heard about Straight Talk I couldn't believe it but got it from Walmart and have had it now for 2 months and it is just sick! I'd heard that it was on Verizon and the coverage is rock steady, so yeah!

having unlimited calling is great because i talk on the phone all of the time. the downside...for some may be big for others, may not be too big of a deal, the internet does not work. i have called customer service tech support, probably 10 times since i have had the phone, (this is going into my second month) to try to straighten out this thing with being unable to connect to the internet. no results, only long bouts of turning the phone off and on, resetting the phone (which actually disconnected my service for a few minutes and i could not make or receive calls) and several "ticket numbers" created with no actual resolution. other than that, the phone works great and reception is great. would i pay $45 bucks again for the same service without internet...heck yeah. i have a netbook for getting online. and compared to the $160-$200 a month i was paying for t-mobile unlimited with two lines, this is a steal.

I'll give them a one. I've discovered that this is a glorified trac phone. It works well in major metro areas such as Vegas and Dallas, but the sound quality is low. It does not work well in suburbs or rural areas. AND IT'S SIGNAL ISN'T CLOSE TO VERIZON. How do I know?? I was with Verizon before and have had to go back to Verizon.

i switched over to this from cingular(att)and hav had the service for about 3 days i cant complain at all i have great service and everything works as it should i was paying 68 bucks a month for 1000 minutes and unlimited txt and that was it. so the unlimited 45 dollars a month on this plan is great the mobil web works great along with everthing else im in north carolina and have no problems with service .

I purchased my phone, Samsung R451C, last Monday. Three hours after activation, my number was ported over from Virgin Mobile. Since then, the phone and service has worked flawlessly. One note to anyone porting a umber from Virgin Mobile... be sure to DEACTIVATE your VM phone right after your ST phone starts working. If not, VM will continue charging you for using the ported number. I found out the hard way when my credit card started getting charges from Virgin Mobile. I had to dispute all of them and then threaten VM with fraud in order to get the charges removed.

I purchased this phone on Nov. 1st with the $45 plan so I could use internet. The internet has not worked one single day and with numerous calls to "service" it still does not work. On Nov. 9th, they said that they would be sending me a new phone and today (11-19) when I called to see where my phone was, they said that the case had been closed. So, no phone...tons of empty frickin promises and no number for me to call and complain about this. This phone would be great, if it worked and if customer service did what they said they would do.

Even thought the service is great The customer service is NOT. Straight Talk lacks consumer skills and knowledge of its product. They do not deliver on their promises and is very slow in recognizing problems. I live in Northwest Florida and have been having sporadic issues of signal coverage along major highways. My signal will be nothing or full bars. In fact I went almost 8 miles without any service. I recycled the phone and this didn't do anything. I also updated my roaming capabilities and re-programed the phone. This is my second phone. I'm considering chalking it up to the Verizon and Altel merging of towers in the area. Heads up. If you think you are having phone problems and want to try another phone or model. Buy it first, go online and go under phone upgrade and actually put the phone on your account. Then return the old phone back to Walmart. Otherwise you will end up canceling your account and losing all your plan minutes for the month and telephone number.

Also, save your self hard ache and do as much as your can on-line at Straighttalk.com. Most of the call center employees speak good English which is a change from other carriers who contract out to different call centers throughout Southeast Asia. All in all its a great deal......

I signed up for Straight Talk 3 days ago and live in Northwest Arkansas, The home of Wal-Mart Headquarters. So far, the signal strength in my area jumps from no signal to 5 bars, but most of the time only 1-2 bars. I now have missed calls, dropped calls, and broken/garbled transmissions as well as the voice mail from nowhere.
I was on Verizon before I made the switch and used to have no such problems. I'v worked with customer service for hours and they think it is my phone. AND they are sending another. I'll try it out, but it seems that I'm not reaching the same verizon towers that I used to.

I switched to this prepaid plan from Verizon. I had no problem moving my phone number over either. Since straight talk works off of verizon towers the reception is awesome too. I highly recommend this plan if you are trying to save money. Verizon is a rip off! $30 a month can't be beat!

I was comparison shopping and Straight Talk was by far the best plan I've seen- I can't believe it- what a value. I've just sign up for their unlimited for $45 a month. I just hope they're not going to raise prices in the future!
