They took money automatically from my credit card, the card they sent out never got through, they never sent me a card in the end, so I coudln't use the service. In the end, they refused to refund my money, or to send me a card and provide the 12 months servic ethey had force me to pay for. Very unhappy that despite repeated requests they still pester me with spam.

Totally unrecommended

They debited my account and I called the day that it posted. They said that I had to return the card (which I haven't received yet) and that they would credit my account. They said that this is the "rule" and that they do not have a way to simply cancel or invalidate the account number. Pretty sleezy ploy. They are simply hoping that some people will not take the time to return the card.....

Well, Priority Pass didn't back down regarding the refund I requested, so I approached American Express Customer Services, who simply refunded the charge of £15 to my account. So thank you, Amex, but no thanks to Priority Pass for being so obstinate.

I am currently in dispute with Priority Pass. My wife and I are both Priority Pass holders and we enjoy using the lounges free of charge as a perk that I get as an American Express cardholder. In September 2009 we both presented our cards to the lounge receptionist at Valencia airport, but she said that she only needed one card number (mine) for her records and told my wife that she did not need a record of her card. In the following month a charge of 15 pounds (GBP) appeared on my American Express card statement. I disputed the charge with Priority Pass, requesting a refund on the grounds that I was given misleading information by the lounge receptionist. They replied that they are unwilling to refund the money as I signed a voucher indicating that I was accompanied by a guest, for whom a charge of 15 pounds is payable. But the voucher I signed states nothing about guests, only mentioning “two users”, and both “users” in this case, myself and my wife, are Priority Pass cardholders. If I had an evil mind I might consider that this was a way of generating extra income for Priority Pass, but I am prepared to accept that the receptionist was unaware of the system of charging for lounge usage and probably thought she was saving paperwork. Let’s see if Priority Pass back down. At present the line that they are taking is that I should pay for the lounge receptionist’s mistake.

The lounges available are fine but sometimes it's cheaper if you pay the lounge directly (e.g. at the Plaza Premium Lounge, Singapore Changi Airport). But the worst thing about Priority Pass is that their customer service is pathetic. Over a 2 year period, I requested assistance because I could not download lounge info onto my PDA, even though I tried repeatedly following their instructions. They never bothered to respond, and still have not. Either because they don't know the answers or they don't care. Either way, unacceptable. If you don't mind spending money and not get any customer service, join; otherwise, save your money and go somewhere else.

I have used Priority Pass for the last 3 years and I am generally quite pleased with it.

The Iphone app is great and I have no problem finding lounges wherever I am. The lounges range from very good with food buffets and free flow of alcohol to very basic. The only reason I do not give 5 stars is that every year they will automatically renew my card at exhorberant prices and every year I have to cancel the renewal and apply again with some kind of promotion. The price difference can be around usd 150 for the Prestige subscription. I think it is a great deal if you travel 15+ times a year. The ability to bring guests is great if you want to impress a customer/client (who do not have lounge access)- but of course they will charge you. Many airlines nowadays are limiting guest access for their lounge programs as well as cutting down on lounges alltogether.

Not a good company. Told me I could cancell and get a partial refund. When the time came they refused to provide a refund.

Very disappointing. Would NOT recommend this company.

Renewal

I've just been hit by the automatic renewal and debit from my bank account. I phoned and was told I had to email for a refund which I did. I mentioned I wanted to make a complaint but there was no reference to that in their reply only that it would take 48 working hours to process my request. I pointed out to PP that I had always had to phone up to renew in the past and I wasn't impressed, especially as my membership had another month before it actually expired!

They suddenly changed their rules and started charging for my wife's use of a lounge. Hadn't done this for years then--after I'd used four lounges during a trip to Asia--wham! $27 x 4 charges.

Tried calling them to get them to reverse the charges. No dice. The lounges don't know the policy, so they can't warn you. And Priority Pass doesn't tell the lounges (probably doesn't want to tell them?), so it is not really their fault.

Good old America Express (give them a 5!) reversed the charges for me and (I hope) promised to chastise Priority Pass.

Stay away!

I have not received the blooming card since I paid in May. Total scam! They have a standard response and don't even read your query. I know they have the right address as I have received promotional crap from them. Intend to get my refund at any cost!

    Not worth it

    Lounges are generally poor. Be careful about charges on your account. They slide your card and will not tell you that they add a carve for your companion. I don't recommend.

    Pros:
  • access to large numbers of lounges
  • Free with Amex Platinum
  • Cons:
  • most lounges are second rate
  • surreptitious charges on your account
