We ordered a 30x21 book and were very disappointed by the final product. All the greens and blues were washed out and all the photos were darker than the original, so much so that detail was lost. We filled in the complaint form on their web page and received a reply stating that they "do not guarantee 100% color loyalty" and suggested what we see on a computer screen is not an accurate representation of our photos.

We wrote back (we had to use the complaint form again) saying we have had some A4 prints made elsewhere and both colour and contrast match perfectly therefore why can't Myphotobook produce a print of equivalent quality. Their response; to offer us the chance to buy the same book again with £10 off.

As a test I have printed the same photos on a home printer (£120 Epsom) and the colours and contrast are again superior to that of Myphotobook.

This is poor quality and poor service.

Exactly the same issues of picture quality. Used Lightroom to get the photos as I wanted them. Came back dark, no detail, photo print quality was overall terrible.
Avoid!!!

I wouldn't recommend anyone to use this service I used myphotobook.ie but its allthe same service. To design your own book was fine but a slow process but I cant say anything for the quality of the book because I haven't received it yet. I've had numerous problems with the ordering and again very unclear about shipping times, so even though I paid premium delivery it is not here yet and it was needed for tomorrow.

Contact is through e mail alone and although responses are quick its not the way to communicate problems and issues. Very disappointed.

Shocking

I have written 3 emails regarding my order and not one reply, no contact phone number either. The book has not been despatched as yet and I know they will just print and send if im lucky but unlucky.

Shocking shocking and very upset, will persue through my CC for a charge back..

I placed an order a couple of nights ago, I had difficulty placing it as the site kept freezing.

I finally managed to place the order and a short while later I received an email telling me that the order had been accepted.

When I checked my emails the following morning I had received an other email from myphotobooks telling me that the order had been cancelled and I would have to place it again.

I placed it again only to discover that I've now ordered two books. I sent them an email within two minutes of placing the second order and told them to cancel it.

I've just received and email from the company (it's not possible to talk to anyone there by phone) and they're telling me that they can't cancel the order.

Perhaps you would like to tell your readers about these people, I'd hate anyone else to victim to this nasty cheating little outfit.

The Photo books are about 50 quid each, not an insignificant sum.

TOTALLY USELESS - DO NOT USE THEM!

I give them one star rating here because zero isn't an option.

I ordered through myphotobook (order no. ending 9343, ordered from London, UK) because of their delivery times. I was ordering a photo book as a gift on our first wedding anniversary. I was going to use Blurb, but they weren't able ti deliver until the day after our anniversary. However, using myphotobook's 'Express Delivery' option it was due for delivery two days before - perfect... or so I thought.

The day of expected delivery came and went. I emailed them to say it had not arrived. I got an automated reply to say they reply to emails within 24 hours.

The next day, no delivery and no email. The next day - the anniversary. No delivery and still no email. I emailed again to explain I would like a refund on the delivery costs (as I had paid for fast delivery but was now on standard delivery time) and could they please explain what is happening.

The next day, three days after the one I should have received my book, I get an email. It explains there was "a problem with the payment" which had delayed production.

Two major points here:

  1. THEY LIED. There was no problem with payment. I check with my bank and it was processed to myphotobook immediately on completion of my order.

  2. If that had been the case, why didn't they contact me?

I was informed I should receive the book "in a few days". Vague and very late.

I emailed to express my extreme disappointment in their ineptitude to meet their promises but also for lying about the delay.

No answer.

Two days later (remember their promise - replies within 24 hours!!) with no reply I email again. Where is my refund? Where is the book? What the heck has happened?

The reply is patronising and avoid the topics. It states they understand it is late and thank me for my understanding with their problems. (I never once said I did so because I didn't.)

Then I get an email saying it has been dispatched and I should get it "within a week"!!! What happened to the "few days" I was told a few days earlier, I asked, in an email I made clear to them was a formal complaint about every aspect of their inept, poor and lying service.

I am told I will get a full refund. I am still yet to receive it, 3 days after they said they made the payment.

Two weeks after the anniversary, the book arrives. FAR TOO LATE.

The book is ok. Nothing more. We have ordered through Blurb before and their product quality is much better than myphotobook's. I wish I'd ordered through Blurb again in hindsight. I'd have got a much better book much earlier.

In summary:

MyPhotoBook:

  • LIE.

  • FAIL to answer queries/complaints within the 24hrs they say they will.

  • FAIL to deliver in the time they promise.

  • FAIL in giving an acceptable level of customer service.

  • Produce a LOWER quality of product than their competitors.

AVOID MyPhotoBook unless you love hassle, lies and waiting ages for something disappointing.

    DON'T USE THIS COMPANY

    I had an awful experience with them this Christmas. Eventually after many many emails a guy called Rob called me - he was the rudest man I have ever spoken to. He was practically shouting at me down the phone. It was a truly awful experience.

    I've been using myphotobook.co.uk for a couple of years now. I'm a wedding photographer who normally produces wedding books using graphistudio and other high end printers - but not all clients can afford those prices - and for those that can't I use myphotobook.

    The print quality is not as high as that as a real photographic print, but it's a nice high quality four colour process print - like a good quality magazine. The pages are thick and the colour has always been very consistent with my calibrated monitor. For the money, I and my customers have no complaints.

    I was attracted by a £10-off voucher through ePhotozine, so spent a whole day designing a Photobook (using InDesign to layout the images professionally, and then uploading the flattened JPG into their desktop application. Not a bad application, but limited for what I wanted to achieve.

    You then get transferred to their web interface to place the order, and that's where it all fell apart. As well as the text layout being rather broken, their credit card payment page isn't secure, and having navigated away from it, I now can't seem to find any way of completing the order - it just shows up in my order history, with no action available.

    Very poor website, combined with the non-secure payment page and other people's reviews, means I shan't be continuing the order, so will go back to Jessops instead.

    I have used My photobook 3 times. I placed my last order 3 months ago and I still haven't got it even though the company has taken my money. I have tried to contact my photobook but I can't fine a phone number. I have sent several e-mails to try to find out where my book is but no respond out of 11 e-mails to various addresses. After 2 months I got fed up and wrote an e-mail stating that I wanted to place a large book order and suprisingly the company phoned 2 day's later. When I told the caller about my actual problem she became quiet and then promised me to send an e-mail where I would have to confirm my address and if the details was correct she would re-print my and send it again. But I am still waiting for that e-mail. I believe it is a dishonest business where money is more important than custommer satisfaction so I will not use my photobook or print my photobook again!

    DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

    I ordered a photobook as a birthday present for my father. I paid extra for a priority delivery to ensure I could present it to him.

    His birthday was now nearly a month ago - the book still remains "In Print". I have had no reply from the company for my numerous requests for an explanation.

    Zero stars- waste of time! I spent a whole day and a half designing a book, and cannot now order it. The website does not respond to my password, which I believe is correct, then does not send me an email as it promises to tell me my password. Now I am too late to start over with a more reliable photo book publisher, such as Blurb. And I chose photobook mainly because i thought it was a British based firm, Photobook.uk)only to find out too late that a) it is based in Germany, b) there is no means of communicating direct with them- no email, no phone number. Absolute rubbish!!!

    Great Product

    I'm so glad I ignored the bad reviews and chose My Photobook for my 116 page A5 lay flat photobook. I wondered what quality I would get for such a reasonable price. I needn't have worried as the pages were thick and the quality of the printing excellent. I was kept informed as to the progress of the order at every stage and a small query was dealt with promptly and effectively. So well done My Photobook, will definitely be back!

    Horrendous Service & Product

    After faulty software failed to save ten hours of work, and the photo book turning up with three pages missing... I felt I had no choice but to question these issues and mistakes on their part.

    I was met with nothing but a bad attitude and terrible customer service. From what was meant to be the perfect valentines gift, turned into an expensive waste of time which left me over £40 lighter, angry and frustrated.

    It baffles me how companies like this stay in business!!

    Problem right form the beginning

    I made a book online, put it in the shopping cart, registered, filled out my shipping details and then I had a pop up telling me that there was no shipping method available, though my address is on Mainland UK. I contacted them, all they said was that there was no project in my account, which I saw myself. But where was my project uploaded to then, if there is no trace of it now? I spent hours doing this work, and now apparently there is no way for me to find any trace of it. Seeing all the bad comments, I'm wondering if I was not spared bigger disappointment, as I haven't even gotten to the point of payment. It's just very frustrating to work on this and to never have any warning or indication of when or where to save the work. It's surprising though how some people were happy, so I'm wondering if there was a big change in the working force???

    Good quality prints, slow delivery

    I have used this company for several books as the software is simple and downloaded onto the computer; the photos are only uploaded when the book is complete. We live in an area with low internet speeds so Photobox etc always fails due to our lack of internet speed.

    Picture quality is excellent and their high-gloss paper brings the pictures to life.

    The company is based in Germany (I think) so the return dates are slower, but I was aware of this.

    I have knocked 1 star off for slower delivery, but otherwise I have no complaints

    Perfect

    I hope no-one has been put off by the reviews written here.

    They are a great company who have always responded quickly and and kindly to my queries.

    Making a bespoke photobook is no easy thing and they do a beautiful job of it. Sometimes these things take longer than we're used to in this digital age. But my order was worth the wait!

    So please don't be put off by these old reviews which were obviously caused by some teething problems in the early days of the company or something.

    Good quality and good value

    I have produced six books during the past four years, all in the panorama format and all have been excellent. The software is easy to use and gets even better with practice. The only downside is the very long time it takes to upload a project, usually in excess of an hour.

    Previously I had made an album using the BobBooks software and I think that Myphotobook is clearly superior in all respects especially picture quality.

    Dont be put off

    I've just create my wedding album on myphotobook.co.uk! I loved the flexibility of being able to choose my own layout, backgrounds, cover etc. I didn't find any other photobook company in my price range that let me do this! I received an email saying it had been dispatched 5 working days after I ordered (exactly when they said it should be shipped by) It then took a day or 2 longer than I thought to arrive but it has arrived today only 11 working days after I ordered it! The book itself is great, high quality and all the colours are right!

    Whilst waiting for my photobook I did panic when I read these reviews, its clearly not quite a perfect website or business as they have let others down but it has worked for me and I'm very pleased!

    frustrated

    I have "excellent" connection to home broadband service. I have spent a year collating a photo album on Myphotobook.co.uk and after prompting sales through a marketing email from the company I tried to order my book today by the Christmas deadline they have set. Soooo frustrated. I can't get my book to transfer to their site. The window says can't connect to server send by post becomes the only option. Last year I had NO problems and the book was excellent. I am very very disappointed that this year I will not be able to give my husband his gift. No option to get in touch with the company except an email for which i got a 'ticket' number and they say they will try to respond within 24 hours. Anybody else had a similar problem?

    Our photobook arrived yesterday, and we are so so pleased with the quality of it, this is beyond our expectations, based on this book we will start to compile another one.

    Yes the communication was a little slow, and the postage times caused a slight concern, but then again we didn't properly look at the terms around deliverly timelines.

    A Great Great product.

    I am with Andy B on this, I wonder if some of the earlier reviewers are talking about the same company. I have had four books made now, and am designing my 5th and 6th at the moment. The reproduction of the photos and the quality of the paper is excellent, the binding also. The software takes a little time to get used to and I would appreciate some instructions rather than just try it and get used to it, but you pick it up pretty quickly. Not cheap, but excelent quality and all of my books have arrived within a few days of ordering. Order number: **39960

    It sounds to me that many of your reviewers have been dealing with a different company from the one that I have used for a year or so. I have produced about 20 books so far and am absolutely delighted with the results. The software takes a bit of getting used to but becomes easy with practice. I would strongly recommend that you load and edit photos to each page individually so the cropping, positioning etc is precisely to your taste. Two of my early books had printing errors, so I emailed them, got a quick and polite reply, and received swift replacement books. The only quibble I have is with the books' packaging, which is insufficient to cope with heavy-handed postal staff (I have received three packages with a significant dent, two of which slightly damaged the cover of the book inside). Overall, it isn't absolutely perfect but it is an excellent product (and this is from someone who is very, very particular about his photos!)

    its a total waste of time...you cant contact them..they wont reply to emails...the instructions on how to create/order are non-

    existant...the discount voucher wont work even

    though its within date...parts of their web site

    dont work

    if i owned them i would get rid of the staff and

    find people who knew what they were doing

    I am so pleased with the photo book I have made using this software. I wanted something special for my Sisters 30th birthday. The software was easy to download and use. I had great communication with the company as I had accidentally ordered more than one of the books. This was resolved the next working day and I had contact with them saying what was happing throughout the process. The final product is of a very high quality and I van not wait to present it to my Sister.

    The software was easy to down load and when I first looked at the web page it looked simple to use and the preview pages even better, so I placed my order. I was informed that it would take approx. 5 - 7 days. In reality from despatch of 26th Feb I received my book on 13th March so it takes a good 10 working days FROM despatch. I was worried and kept emailing them for progress as I had read poor reviews and as the product cost £68 for 36 pages it wasn't cheap and I thought I'd lost my sale. However, it HAS arrived this morning and I am really pleased with it. There is no phone number to contact the company who appear to be in Berlin. But the quality is good the paper is thick quality paper not flimsy and I am really pleased with the final result albeit late on arrival.

    i recently ordered a photobook with myphotobook.ie. i'm so happy with d product and would highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking about using it. ignore all the bad reviews because they couldn't be more wrong plus they all seem to be from 2 or 3years ago. photobook av obviously improved there product in recent yrs.i used it to make my wedding album and the pic's came out perfectly. no blur r colour fading what so ever. i also received the album within 2weeks of my order. i was actually shocked wit the quality to be honest.as good as any pro album i've seen and for only a fraction of the cost.the software is also very easy 2 use. i cant speak highly enough of the quality of the print.i choose the hardback and also the high gloss finish.please don't let the other reviews put you off using them. i'm so glad i didn't read the reviews before making my order. i took a chance and i was certainly rewarded for it :)

    I didn't order a photobook myself, but I did recieve one. The quality was ok for its price. Why do you guys complain so much. The books are not expensive, so you cannot expect superiorquality. I've been at their company and their service is good, they're hard working employees and do what they have to do.
