Based on my mother's as well as my own bad experiences with iYogi, I strongly recommend that -- under no circumstances -- should any consumer do business with iYogi.

Thinking she was calling Kaspersky, my 81-year-old mother called iYogi by mistake because she was getting a message on her laptop computer telling her to update her Kaspersky software. Otherwise, my mother's computer worked just fine.

The iYogi rep took remote control of my mother's computer. Then, after claiming that there were critical problems with my mother's computer, the rep tried to sell her a $300 service contract, which my mother refused to buy. Then, an iYogi supervisor got on the phone, told my mother that her computer had critical problems, and offered her a discount on what was normally a $300 service contract. But my mother still refused.

However, after the call ended, my mother noticed that her laptop's keyboard no longer worked properly, that is, certain keys now typed numbers!

I then called iYogi to complain about the malfunctioning keyboard. The iYogi rep I spoke with again took remote control of my mother's keyboard. After claiming there were critical problems with my mother's computer, this second rep tried to sell her a $69.99 service contract, which my mother also refused to buy.

Since my mother's keyboard was still malfunctioning, I then spoke with an iYogi supervisor. The supervisor denied that the first rep had purposefully caused the keyboard problem in order to coerce my mother into paying for a service contract, which is what I still believe happened.

But what is worse is that the supervisor then admitted that the service contracts that iYogi had been trying to sell to my mother would not even fix the keyboard problem, which the second iYogi rep had implied that it would.

So, from this experience, I can say three things about iYogi: (1) all iYogi seems to care about is selling its service contracts; (2) iYogi will try to sell its service contracts even when (according to iYogi itself) iYogi knows that it cannot fix your computer's problem; and (3) after allowing iYogi to remotely access your computer, your computer might suddenly start malfunctioning (as occurred to my mother's computer), leading one to wonder whether iYogi itself has purposefully made your computer malfunction in an attempt to coerce you to buy its service contract.

Considering the many other complaints against iYogi on this and other websites, I recommend that the consumer never do business with this company.

I have no order number because, as stated above, my mother declined to purchase iYogi's service contract. Instead, my complaint against this company is based on its sales tactics, which in my mother's case may have included iYogi's having purposefully caused my mother's keyboard to malfunction in an attempt to coerce her into buying its service contract.

IYogi just did the same thing to me...took control of my laptop as I thought I was talking to a Netgear tech...they took control of my laptop, told me that I had too many problems with my computer and wanted to fix it before they could get the Netgear to work. When I refused to the service contract to fix something that wasn't wrong...I too couldn't use my keyboard any longer either. And now my laptop will not even turn on!!! How can I get help with this?? Anyone know...or am I screwed? email me if you have any info: mcallister.jane@gmail.com
I believe that iYogi has caused problems with my computer. After trying to get me to renew my service contract, all of a sudden I began getting a message that said my files were corrupted and guess what, iYogi started calling within a day or so after that. I asked them to stop calling and now I cannot even turn on my computer. They are now calling four times a day and I won't answer the phone. They even made a comment at one point about my iPad which they would not even know I had unless they are able to are to figure it out because they have control of my equipment. I am reporting them to the New York State attorney General 's Office.

Order number *****264778

I was looking for.. Microsoft’s contact no., and God knows how? I reached iyogi. But, this was a sweet mistake. A rep from India cleared air, very beginning that he is not Microsoft. But he can help me fix my Outlook issue. Due to time constraint I agreed. (you know how tough it is to dial these support numbers and follow instructions to reach a representative) Technician, I was talking to was extremely polite and smart. It took 35 minutes to fix my Outlook issue. Order number *****264778.. I’m more than happy with the kind of response I got. I have no issues talking to iyogi, they help me keep my problems at bay. Iyogi Carry on…! Good work!

printer problem fixed..

here is the order number 6452567874

I took iyogi subscription because each time I called, someone picked up immediately.. Though, I was facing issues with getting my Acer laptop to sync with my Lexmark printer but still took two subscriptiosn for $250 for both my computers.. I had read the numerous complaints on iyogi and was on my guard, however I had absolutely no issues with them except that they really did spend a lot of time ensuring that nothing else was wrong with my computer.. They are pleasant to talk to and when I can’t understand their words they chat to make things clear.. It’s a relationship that works, they tell me what they are doing and I trust them to do the best for me and my computer.. I DONT have the order number 00 with me... lost the email. have requested them for a duplicate mail.. will update the order number as soon as i get that mail..

A boon…

Im a computer geek and by profession I resolve peoples PC issues. But somehow it’s such a burden to have to fix your own PC! It’s like being a waiter at a coffee house. When you get home the last thing you wanna do is make yourself a cup of coffee, rather you would like to be served… that’s when I hooked up with iyogi order number 201109281632182 … it’s interesting to talk to these guys cause they know quite a lot (I guess they have to since it is their job). They keep my computer the way I would keep my clients computers… spic and span. So now when I get home from a day’s work I just enjoy my machine… thanks guys.

I'm so glad to hear a professional say something positive about Iyogi. I have used them a year and they just asked me to renew and I was a bit hesitant because I had some scam reports on the internet and got scared. I have never had a problem with them and they ARE there 24/7/365, courteous and seem to fix whatever ails my computer.

Language issues

I’m not good at speaking in English… writing no problem but with speaking I have issues. Few days back my laptop had some problem and I called local tech guy. He couldn’t understand what the problem was and instead of working on laptop he was questioning me more. I gave up finally and asked him to leave. I remembered an ad I saw of iyogi and I called the guys. I purchase their annual tech support order number 201110067587703 and thanks to remote tech support they figure out problem without me having to speak with them. This is user-friendly. Thank you.

These guys don't even deserve a rating. I do not have an order number because I was not the customer. However, please read on - here is my story.

First, I want to say that I am a certified computer technician. A customer of mine (a 75 year old lady btw) was having a Hotmail issue, and without thinking, tried to find technical support online for her problem, which turned out to be a Hotmail issue, not her computer.

This customer found iyogi.com and contacted them. They proceeded to have her go to logmein.com and they then remotely accessed her computer. Upon connection, they informed her that she had 1500 viruses on her computer and it was going to cost $300 to fix it. Fortunately for her, she declined the repair.

I checked her computer out myself after she called me and told me her story. I remotely accessed her computer: there were no viruses on the computer, not even anything remotely close - and I would know because half of all my customers call me because of virus issues (mostly that fake anti-malware stuff).

By this time, the Hotmail issue was resolved (on their end, of course) and she was able to send email again without getting the email returned.

Here is the horrible part: I contacted iyogi on my own and explained this situation of fraud, unethical and immoral behavior, to the person that took my IM request hoping this behavior was not company wide. Unfortunately, I found out differently. She stated that perhaps there was a virus on there and that they fixed it. I asked her if they would fix the virus prior to payment - no response. Also, I explained that the customer's problem had nothing at all to do with any virus whether there was one or not - no response.

I thanked her for the information and told her that I had made my decision regarding their company, and wished them luck in their "business."

Folks: if you are having a computer problem, please do not waste your time with this "company." Their ethics are down the toilet - they are just out for the buck. Do yourself a favor and find another place to go.

Yes. I purchased the 69. yearly version and gave them remote access to my computer. That was a few months ago. Now they call constantly trying to get me to upgrade to a more expensive version. When they started calling, my computer startd having problems. I believe the deliberately messed with my computer. This company is greedy and has no ethics.
i had the same thing with my friends! and I called iYogi myself and said how scammers they are.
I do not understand why they are not blocked for the USA.

They want to charge me for fixing their errors

Order number 201201285340383.

My Kaspersky virus protection had expired. Iyogi sold me & installed (remotely) a current McAffee for $79.99

Immediately after the installation I had 3 problems:

  1. the thumbnail preview of my 2,000 photos didn't work.

  2. the iyogi tech who did the McAffee installation blocked some programs on computer start-up. The error message telling me about that constantly pops up throughout the day. And I have not been able to correct that situation because the blocked programs are now listed as 'inactive.' and changing that status is not possible because the 'change' button is greyed out.

  3. in order for iyogi to uninstall my original Kaspersky, the tech downloaded Revo Uninstaller. i'm concerned about uninstalling Revo because there is a file called 'McAffee' within it. When I rec'd the cust svc eval emal from iyogi, i mentioned the 3 items. When we spoke in a follow-up call, after much repeating, explaining & re-explaining and being on hold for ONLY 20 minutes, I was told that since I do not have a service contract with them, they cannot help me...

So they messed up my computer and wanted to charge me to fix it. Isn't that a definition of e-extortion?

Pat O'Daley, rosegen47@yahoo.com

Pros:
  • answered on the first ring
  • Cons:
  • on hold for 20 minutes
  • told me they could not fix their errors on my computer unless i purchase a service contract.

Good Tech support but aggressive sales team.

Initially I was suspicious of iyogi coz I was actually forced into accepting their services. They charged 169.99 Order number 20120255XXXXXXX and then took control of my computer. While they did recovered all my lost pictures and videos, but I never liked the pushy nature. Good tech support but need better and polite sale tactics.

    Pros:
  • Good tech support.
    Speedy
    smart technicians
  • Cons:
  • Costly service
    very pushy

order number 201106022803281: iyogi is a scam. I was looking for McAfee customer service and their number popped up. Pretty,an iyogi agent, made it seem like she was a McAfee rep. I clearly stated on 2 occasions i wanted the $45.00 special McAfee was running. She assured me i would get it. I let her sign into my pc, after she explained i would have to give her permission to get into sensitive ares of my computer. However whenever Pretty was checking off boxes i should have been reading before she checked them, she would speed up the conversation in an attempt to distract me. When i called her out on it, she brushed me off. This is when i became very uncomfortable. I requested the price politely several time expressing how tired i was of being on the phone. because i myself work in a contact center all day. No sympathy, she continued to waste my time by telling me things. if i really wanted to know i could google just the way she was. Several times i could here her reading some How to guide. Finally a supervisor got on the phone trying to snowball me with a $140.00 rate. I again explained i wanted the $45 special i had seen on McAfee website. Still nothing, he persisted in his sale. I asked assertively if this is McAfee and he went around that answer 2 or 3 times until he could not avoid it anymore. he told me a % of what i would pay goes to McAfee and the rest to them. I thanked him for wasting my time and hung up. Very shady business. Not only did i uninstall iyogi from my computer right then and there i also refuse to purchase McAfee now because i think the fact that they trust a company like this with their NEW clients, speaks volumes. Thanks but no thanks to both services.

    Order number

Case ID 201101311932796 ............... 5 star on the people that work for Iyogi They're all sweet, BUT........Here's my dillema.I was having a problem with my spyware dr and was looking on the internet for the phone number for the company to get it running again, but could not find it so i called pc tools where i purchased the spyware protection and they hooked me up with Iyogi. I told the gentleman what the problem was and automaticlly he told me to go to logmein123.com. I did so because he said he would take care of the problem, not thinking anything of it. Well, he took remote control of my computer and did fix it for me but then proceeded to tell me that, i had to pay for it, and asked me if i wanted the 2 yr for 299.99 or the 3 yr for 399.99. I said no, and he kept telling me i had to pay for the service he just helped me with. So after he drilled me and wierdly enough.... he kind of brain washed me into it. I agreed to the 2 yr. Stupid !! Now, Dont get me wrong , all of the techs i spoke to were awesome people, super nice, helpful people but i totally was exhausted from being on the phone and the computer. I had the support dock for only 1 week, not even, and i called them like 4 different times. It took hours for them to fix it each time and it would work for a bit but then something else would go wrong. Every tech did the same thing as the others, ran through the same disk clean ups and scans. But they would end the session before it was done. And every time the scan would freeze and not complete. I dont know to blame them or my computer because i know nothing about computers but i purchased it thinking it wasnt going to be this complicated. It was a pain in the butt !!! It just wasnt for me. I didnt have the time to sit on the phone while they worked on it so i canceled and i am waiting for a refund of 240.00 cause they wouldnt refund the 60.00 since i used some of the tech support. I hope they make it right and return the money to my c/c. I'll post when i get it back.

My computer froze on 12/24. I called the tech support number on Avast's webpage and spoke with IYogi. At first their $299.99 fee stung. But we live in the country, and there are no tech shops around, so I agreed to their service. The customer service rep and tech guy were patient, knowledgeable, and efficient. After 1 1/2 hours online, my computer runs better than ever. The next day they repaired and serviced my husband's computer. Averaged out, we paid $200/computer. Not bad considering they haven't been serviced since we bought them! Order number 201012241733307

I am not a computer literate so when my pc got malware attack last night, I was horrified. Everytime i sued to open internet explorer, multiple windows keep popping up. I tried to remove it but to no avail. I called up my friend who refered me to iyogi. I paid 169.99 order number 20120514XXXXXX for a year , 24/7 help and the tech spent 4 hours fixing my PC. He removed all the viruses and the 2010 Rogue. Fixed all my registries and made my PC run so much faster. I very pleased with their service. Thank you,IYogi.Good Karma to you.

    iyogi rocks...

I am surprized to see so much negativity about iyogi. People tend to give more negative feedback rather than a positive one. Two of my friends recoomended iyogi to me. i bought their annual package (order number 2011111655986548 ) And since then there is no looking back. iyogi fixed all my laptop issues even if it took them hrs to fix the problem. I will rate iyogi 5. they are good.

I am order number 201012281751863. Just spent $1600 with Dell for a new studioxps and lots of periphels(sp). Problem was that I couldn't send photos by right clicking on them on desktop and then hitting E-mail. Called and got hooked up with IYOGI. Took three calls and some time but they came through and solved my problem. They were patient, as was I and together it worked. I imagine they are under a ton of pressure to produce by their superiors which is tough. Basically any of the People from India I have spoken with are gentle and helpful. Maybe cut them some slack when calling? Good luck and Happy New Year.

    I don't trust iYogi

When I decided to start paying for Avast anti-virus, there was some kind of problem installing it, so I needed to contact iYogi support. They gave me a hard sell for a $169.99 year's subscription to their service, which I declined, and then they fixed my infected computer. OK so far.

When my subscription was running out, I chose to renew it. Sounds simple, right? You pay, and you should just get to keep using it. WRONG. It didn't work, so I had to contact iYogi again. The tech remote connected, said the dates were wrong, but he couldn't seem to fix it, and we both waited on the line for 45 minutes to contact customer service. They were going to send me out a new contract in 24 hours. A week later, I was still waiting for it. Contacted iYogi again, got the hard sell again for their $169.99 service, declined, and after an hour an a half, got the new service installed. OK, why should they need to remote in each time to just renew a service that was already installed? And why, every time I asked a question, did they not seem to understand what I was saying?

Next day, I discovered that the other laptops did not get the renewal. So, do I want to spend my weekend on the phone w/ iYogi again? No, I don't think so.

    Order Number 201202295733073

    Pros:
  • technicians are well trained
  • technicians are polite
  • Cons:
  • the company design is to get new customers- not just fulfill a contract with Avast
  • they are deceitful
  • there may be other nefarious things they are doing while logged in as there should be no reason they would need to remote access my computer for my situation

what a great support Tech - Kumar

    Order Number 201202275734073

Folks in India are smart and cool head I called them today shouting venting out my anger in frustration as I could not print my slips. Tech- Kumar listened to me peacefully reacting once in a while only for technical questions. He handled the issue professionally, and I kept on apologizing for my behavior and Kumar acknowledged it perfectly. Tech like Kumar makes this world a better place.

  • tech picked my call in one ring

  • IVR could have been bettter

Rude Service that won't stop calling

A man called from IYogi and was extremely aggressive in trying to get me to buy packages I didn't need from the company despite me explaining I didn't need them- when I asked to speak to a manager, he said they were all in a meeting, when I asked for his name or number he said he couldn't give out that information. I called a higher up and complained and he said he would try and figure out who did it and that he wasn't supposed to be calling customers, but waiting for customers to call IYogi. This makes me wonder how easy it is for any worker to access my information. I got yet another 2 calls today (6/20/12) telling me I needed to renew my service, when I said no, the woman and man both hung up on me. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. There are no order numbers related to these unofficial phone calls (part of the problem as no one is held accountable).

    Cons:
  • rude employees

  • unauthorized phone calls at all hours of the day and night

  • your personal information seems to be open to any employee

This is regarding a review written on 5/4/11 about I Yogi not refund $170. The finance department did indeed put a refund on an unexpected credit card. For 5 months the finance department kept telling Customer Care that the money had been wired to my bank account. How this screw up could have occurred is beyong my and Customer Care representives imagination. It took one tenacious Customer Care representative to finally dig out the truth. I did receive the refund, though not in the expected way. After working with 7 different Customer Care reps., I found one who was relentless. Too bad there wasn't one in their inept finance department.

    They took my money

I had a problem with my iphone and I called iyogi to fix this issue. They charged me $60 to fix it and I questioned the guy about it. I had gotten my iphone about four months ago and it was still under warranty. He said that I would still have to pay to get it fixed even though it was under warranty so I paid. I later called Apple personnel to resolve this same issue and they said it was free because it was still under warranty. The personnel at iyogi lied to me and took my money. They did not even fix the issue. Look at another company to do business with. This is shameful and I believe it is a scam. Very disappointed and very angry about this whole thing. Not a moral company.

Our computer was really messed up (viruses causing internet to crash repeatedly) and multiple sources said it was because we had left over anti-virus software that was causing the new anti-virus software not to work. We were transferred to iYogi to fix the issues. Although I was told at first that it would only take half an hour to fix, it ended up taking 6 hours. They said the problem was bigger than they thought originally. The services were a bit pricey, but they fixed everything and our computer is running perfectly. It took a lot of stress off of my husband and I. I wanted help with desktop settings today, and they fixed that in a couple minutes. They are helpful, polite and always available. I only checked the reviews today. All these people say it is a scam, which worried me...but then they fixed and did everything I paid them to do, so I don't think they scammed me. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! It's a huge mistake!

Everything was fine until they started calling me at least 5 or 6 times a day to renew the service 4 months before the subscription was up. Now they call, I say "Hello" and they hang up. I am being harassed by them continuously. I had to call the phone company to block their calls. This is a nightmare! DON'T USE THIS SERVICE. It's creepy.

1.guys the 99% of iyogi techs are below the age of 28 when we guys have such good maintance of our own computer why can`t u guys u guys are older than us,to purchase a computer we save money work for many months and it never ever gives any issue,so wat makes the difference we have all the basic things for a computer like a OS disk, drivers disk, and external HDD or atleast an thumb drive,if there is a wireless we will surely have a ethernet cable, these things r the basic things which u guys never ever have

2.it is our hands that r tideup guys not to use profanity on the call, else u will feel scared to call us or shout at us

3.if the troubleshooting take more than 2hours y don`t u people ask for a supervisior to work on ur computers

4.try calling up dell, lenovo,hp techs directly deny the troubleshooting if in case if u don`t have any CD,cable etc they ask u first collect the things n call us back later trust me i had worked on all major companies try askin questions coolyfor more doubts ask for email id

Can’t connect to Internet - iyogi helpd me

While browsing websites… I got an error message page cannot be displayed. I called Verizon they check their line and said signals are good, and they can PING my modem. As per there diagnose something inside the computer was faulty and needed to be checked. I tried to fix it initially but gave up after couple of tries. Easy way out was to look for a good Tech support no. Did Google and got iyogi, they asked some questions about the issue, that made me believe that my computer is in safe hands.

though it took close to an hour to fix my problem, but it got fixed... finally I signed for their two years of contract as they gave huge discount on my order number 6109XXXXXX

    Thanks IYOGI…

Somehow I got connected to an iyogi.net tech while trying to get help with my HP printer...was on the phone for 1 hr. with a very polite tech from India. He tried to sell me a package for my 5yr old Toshiba half screen laptop. I was hesitant so called CA securities. I use them thru Optimum. Anyway I'm still confused as to what to do . Will be asking the techies in IT at my job. Really do not want to spend too much $$$$

Iyogi fixing Associating file error whole Night

When does one write about a service?

I guess when he/she gets support beyond expectation.

I am writing this because the technician put 200% efforts to fix my problem. I gave up the hope but they continued with their effort…. I asked them to do whatever they can and I went to sleep technician continued their work while I was sleeping. I don’t know what time they signed off. Morning when I tried using my computer it was smooth like silk. NO virus… No file association error… and NO worries. order number 201106XXXX50478. God bless Iyogi and their TECHS

    Thank you

Yesterday I became a dad. My folks couldn’t make it to the hospital and neither could my in-laws. And in all honesty I wanted to be with my wife and not on the phone all the time. So I picked up my laptop set it up in the post labor room and tried to fix up the web cam.. damn thing almost made me miss the delivery but thankfully at the last minute I googled and landed at iyogi asking them for help. I left the laptop for them and went … by the time I came back my webcam was working and so was my webcam. I had both sets of parents online… the ‘aawwwwss’, ‘so cutes’ and ‘aahhhhs’ poured in… best day of my life. Thanks guys… U the BEST. order number 201109XXXXXXX

I thought I knew it all.. ha ha!

OK I admit “too many cooks spoil the broth”… I have a decent amount of computer knowledge but when my computer just wouldn’t respond, and I ran out of ideas I asked a friend of mine for help (he never seemed to have issues with his laptop). He recommended me to iYogi and once I got in touch with them… while I know they could have resolved the problem much faster I argued over every step they maneuvered. I guess my knowledge was more the short cut method while they go through a process to make sure I don’t have the same problem again. My bad :) but the tech guy did a good job. *** I RETRACT MY PREVIOUS COMPLAINT AGAINST IYOGI ***

I have no order number because, as indicated below, we did not purchase anything from iYogi.

The very same day that I posted a complaint against iYogi on this bulletin board, I received a telephone call from iYogi’s Customer Service Department.

The iYogi Customer Service representative told me that he had thoroughly researched the entire matter.

He then confirmed with me that I had no complaints against his company regarding the amount of money that his company had charged to us because iYogi had not charged us any money and that I had no complaints against his company regarding the quality of the services that his company had provided to us because iYogi had not provided us with any services.

The iYogi Customer Service representative then asked me if there were anything at all that his company could do for me. So I told him that my mother’s computer keyboard was malfunctioning.

Then, the iYogi Customer Service representative told me that he would try to fix my mother's computer problem free of charge the very next day.

As arranged, the next day the iYogi Customer Service representative called me back, completely fixed my mother’s computer, and did not charge us any money at all for this repair.

As a result, I hereby retract the complaint against iYogi that I had previously posted. Moreover, I now strongly endorse this company and recommend it to all consumers.

As indicated above, my previous complaint never involved the quality of iYogi’s services or the money it charges for those services. My mother had simply called this company and iYogi had then simply informed her of the services it provides and the cost of such services. My mother was then free to decline these services, which she did, and iYogi never charged her anything at all. All of that is clearly stated in my previous complaint.

However, as soon as iYogi’s Customer Service Department heard that I had made a complaint, a representative from that Department immediately investigated my complaint and then contacted me to see what he could do for me. Then, when I told the Customer Service representative that my mother’s computer was malfunctioning, he fixed her computer free of charge.

I don’t think anyone could ask for more than that! So you can see why I now recommend iYogi.

usb not working - iyogi fixed it

Just graduated and obviously there was a party. I took my camera along and must have clicked some 500 pictures. The next day when I woke up I thought I’d upload the snaps onto my laptop. I plugged everything in but the laptop would not read the camera at all! I tried rebooting my laptop but again no help. This was not only frustrating but was also adding to the hangover I already had. I called a friend of mine and she told me to ask iYogi for help. I logged in and got in touch with them. I was a little apprehensive at first but eventually after speaking with the tech guy felt a lot more comfortable and bought their subscription. order number 20111016XXXXXXX They helped me re-configure my usb settings and soon enough I was looking at all my party pictures. And I must say most of the pictures are not ‘uploadable’, No technical reason just that they are a little too explicit ;) thanks guys.

    iyogi fixed my pc

This is definitely about cool computing! One of my colleague referred me to iyogi. I came across a technician for the black screen error on my system. Without making me wait for hours and agitating me for the delay in service or resolving the issue, the guy took me through several steps and God forbid but since then I have never had the same issue in my laptop. I'm very thankful that my laptop was not a loss and my data is safe. good job.

I could not find my install disk for the wireless printer. The tech support person tried for about 2 hours to get it to work. It was late and I told him to continue the next day. The next day I found the install disk and repaired it myself. Iyogi said that they would refund the $39.95 The following is their message to me:order number: 6112210057

    "Dear Mr. Kitchen,

We regret that your experience with iYogi Technical Services was less than satisfactory. Based on your request we have processed the refund for your subscription. This will reflect in your bank records/credit card statement within 7 business days, depending on your billing cycle. I do not have an order number since I did not take their service. Some bulb lit in my head just at the right time and I did not give them my CC details.

    My story:

I have a Lenovo thinkpad, which got infected by virus. I asked my friend for lenovo technical support phone number. He googled it and found iYogi phone number. When I called them, I specifically asked them if it is Lenovo tech support since the call never said Welcome to IBM. Tarun, who was helping me mentioned that they support Lenovo. I gave him the details. He then started explaining me about my limited warranty, how much it would cost me to fix at best buy and how inexpensive they are. I almost got carried away by his words and was ready to give my credit card info. Then I realized that my friend might have looked wrong number and I hung up saying I am getting some other call. He insisted that he will call me back though I mentioned to him that I would call him since I am the one who has the problem. In the next ten minutes, when I was on the call with Lenovo (the real Lenovo Corp), Tarun called me and left a message to call back and cancel the application if I do not need the support. Out of good will, I called them back to cancel and the lady on the phone was repeatedly asking me to provide a best time for her to call me back so that I can pay the amount (169.99 + 29.99 for the bootable cd). I never received a call from them. I received the bootable cds from Lenovo and I am typing this from my computer.

IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM AND YOU NEED TECH SUPPORT, YOU WOULD CALL THEM, WHY SHOULD THEY INSIST THAT THEY CALL YOU?

    THIS IS A COMPLETE SCAM

They must pay a lot to advertise with google but these guys spent 2 hours doing nothing on my machine while remotely logged in. Eventually i got fed up and asked for a refund. I cannot believe that anyone that has posted a positive comment isn't an employee of IYogi.. Good karma, what a load of B**l Sh*t These guys will go directly to hell if they think this is good karma!!! order Number 2012*****

    Pros:
  • None at all
  • very useless tech staff
  • just seem to drag out the call as long as possible
  • Cons:
  • If you tell them to stop bullshitting you and give a refund they will. They will try and push you off to customer services who will try and assess what went wrong hoping you will get fed up!

    a good deal...

My sister’s son is quite the mischief maker. Today's day and age allows kids to be a little more tech savvy at a very young age. With that advantage the little creep always manages to do something to my laptop, which I cannot decipher, and in the end I have to spend a few hundred dollars to get a tech guy to look at it. I can’t even say no to him, nobody wants to be a mean Uncle!!! Anyway a few weeks back I was dreading their visit as usual. I got an emailer which talked about iYogi. I did a little research into it and finally was convinced. I signed up order number 201110XXXXXXXX. After my nephew and family left that weekend sure enough he had done something to my laptop again but this time all I did was call iyogi and they fixed it immediately. It’s a onetime charge for a whole year. a good deal..

Coincidently after my posting I finally heard back from the floor manager at IYogi. I explained to him why I was so upset at them and requested that my computer be returned to the original stage it was before they laid hands on it. I'm very happy to say all my pictures, music and personal files where returned and the same way my pc is now working like it was before.

IYogi was very apologetic for the troubles they caused and promised to give me a full refund. At this point the only other comment I can make is I'm very thankful that my laptop was not a loss and my personal documents were returned.

Order number: 201012271746125 My experience with iYogi’s online/phone technical assistance was excellent, the best tech assistance I have received in 10 years of working with PC’s.

When I rebooted after installing an update to McAfee security center, I got the dreaded blue screen, thus a failure to boot normally although the computer could operate in the Safe Mode. I worked on it for a couple of hours before calling McAfee. McAfee worked on it but told me it was Dell’s problem. My “Dell Connect” subscription had been satisfactory, but had expired. When I presubscribed I was connected to iYogi. I worked for a couple of hours with a technician who passed me on to his supervisor. In ten minutes she figured out the problem, which was a corrupted driver. Although it still took hours to find the problem driver, she worked on it until the problem was resolved. Several things stood out:

    • The determination of the technician to solve the problem.

    • Although I have poor hearing, I could understand the analysts, who are in India. The phone line quality was better than average.

    • The software they were using to view and control my screen was superior to the usual Citrex program. They kept the voice phone connection active along with the remote computer control operation.

    • Quality control was evident. As soon as we finished I got an evaluation survey to fill out. Three hours later someone called me to be sure the computer was working well.

After my session with the McAfee technician I had been convinced that I would have to get a new computer, The iYogi people’s successful assistance saved me from buying a new computer.

This is the worst most dishonest and fraudulent company I have ever dealt with. I called for a simple problem and was informed that I needed to buy a warranty for four incidents. I did so. They never solved the problem. When I had a second incident they claimed the first contract only covered one incident. They then sold me a three year contract with all sorts of outlandish promises of free Microsoft software etc. When I questioned the promises and warranty I was told that the call was being recorded so I had no risk. When I tried to collect on the promises they said they could not find the recording and canceled my contract.

Beyond making fraudulent promises any call I made took a minimum of one hour and the people I spoke to were polite but incompetent.

This company and anything they sell is a scam. I am surprised that Dell uses them.

iyogi is not kaspersky or mcafee neither it is affiliated to them. however, they provide tech support and do trouble shooting for most of the kaspersky and mcafee issues. I will get to the point. I have a one year subscription with I yogi. It runs out March 28, 2011. I was called yesterday by Tarun Arya to renew for 3 years at a special rate of 250 dollars. My one year subscription cost 139.99. I tentatively agreed and told him to call back today and I would give him my card information. Well today I checked all the reviews and decided to renew for one year at the appropriate time. I felt something was not right with the 3 year offer. I called the company and another rep agreed with me that it's my prerogative to renew when I want to. I thought the matter was settled. Ten minutes later Tarun called and said lets have your credit card and we won't bill you until March 2011. I told him that the matter was settled and I decided not to renew at this time but I liked the service. He said and I paraphrase,"what the hell is wrong with you, what made you change your mind?" I told him that I was the customer and he was the provider and my decision is final. Then I said, but I thank you for calling me back and I heard him say before he hung up on me, "you're not thanking me..."

To each his own I guess. I have had iYogi for my two Dell PCs for the past two years, and honestly, the only problem I have had so far with them, is that my call is seldom answered the first time, but by the second or third time, I am always connected to one of their seasoned technicians. My rapport and experience with iYogi has been good and I sort of trust them now. They know me and my Dell PCs and I only wish I could speak to the same person twice thought they are all pretty goog.

There are tons of tech support out there and everyone needs to find their own people. iYogi works for me, and these guys manage to fix my problem, every time I touch base with them.

    Keep spreading the Good Karma!

Not happy at all with their service, felt I was high pressured in to purchasing it for $139 after I had turned my computer over to them remotely to help me uninstall a previous antivirus 'free because I had purchased PC Shield'. Many hours later in two different sessions and I have had nothing but problems since they 'optimized my computer because it had many issues'. They said they had 'fixed the problems' in the email they sent back to me after working on ita couple of days later, but there were worse problems after that session. Computer keeps freezing up now and getting strange emails with no from address that I can't even put on my spam list. Never have had that issue before. I have now been on hold listening to "please stay on the line and an associate will be right with you & thanks for holding, we believe you deserve the best service possible, we're looking forward to working with you so please stay on the line" for 38 minutes now. A total rip off!!! Sure wish I had found this site BEFORE PURCHASING :<(

I had a virus on my computer which disabled all my internet access. My web master told me I needed to back up all my data to a hard-drive then wipe my machine and re-install the factory settings. Then I would have to re-install all the software programs, favorites, bookmarks, and so much more. It would have taken days and days and much frustration, not to mention the time lost working on current projects. I was a little hesitant about IYogi...The tech was awesome and stayed with me until I was back up and running. In under 2 hours I was back up with a faster machine totally protected!

Unable to keep promises and appointments

    order number 201106...934

    1) THE TECHNICIANS ARGUE AND REMOVE STUFF WITHOUT YOUR APPROVAL. Tech told me I was wrong many times and that the changes had to be made. He also failed to follow through on the advice given to me by a previous tech.

    2) DO NOT REQUEST A CALL FROM ONE OF THEIR SPECIALISTS AT AN APPOINTED TIME. THEY WILL HOUND YOU ALL DAY. I set-up an appointment time to speed process. Person didn't call. Instead I got seven calls in one day from their tech reps even though I told them twice I did not have access to my computer and I thought I had an appointment scheduled.

If you really think they were this much dissatisfying. Then why did you give them 4 stars. Why rating them high?

Thanks for putting this discussion up. My 71-year old mother made the mistake of buying this, thinking it was legit. They were very polite and walked us through the download, but we had to run to a prior engagement. They said I could run the program(s) later. When I got home I started up the laptop and that's where it sat. I could get to my desktop but it just froze up. Nothing. I called the customer service line quite irate and the tech began the EXACT same sales pitch the first guy did when we first called. He ran through almost the SAME steps over and over. They kept my poor mother on the line for almost 2 hours, doing the same thing over and over to NO avail. But in the meantime I did some searching online, initially under "PC Security Shield 2010" and then under our favourite 'iYogi'... Once I hit this page, I just told my Mom to hang up. She called her bank and already found that her initial purchase (supposedly $19.99) was not $60US. They said that since she'd authorized them to do it, that it was too late. But my parents decided to cancel the card to be safe and so no future 'subscription' fees were added. Good riddance to bad rubbish... avoid iyogi ppl. Thanks all.

I can’t believe how easy they made it look. They were wonderful. I can do so much more with my system now and they gave me this little thingy that even helps me consumer less energy. I love it!
