This is more of a review of a tour through L&L Travel which we booked through Gotobus.com. We just got back from their 8 day East Coast and Canada vacation. The trip was jam packed with destinations, fun, and tiring at the same time. Most mornings you have to wake up by 6 AM EST- two mornings we even had to wake up at around 5 AM.

Our tour guide Kevin was friendly and professional and had a nice sense of humor. His English wasn't the best, and sometimes he didn't explain certain things in English, but we thought he was a good tour guide overall. Our driver, Eduardo ("Eddy"), was certainly a pro in navigating the crazy traffic in Manhattan. They played DVD movies to keep the guests in the jam packed coach entertained, though most of the time we tried to catch our sleep or were busy taking pictures.

The price is terrific, but keep in mind that they don't include any of the admissions fees to attractions. We did pretty much all of them, and it added to to an additional $350/pp. The Maid of Mist in Niagara Falls was spectacular, all the cruises were nice, esp. the NY cruise and the Thousand Island cruise. The only things we didn't do were the breakfast aboard the Thousand Island cruise ($12/pp), which turned out to be a good decision, and the French lunch ($27/pp) in Quebec. The NYC Night Tour was decent- about 3 hours and you get to visit the night scenes of Time Square, Rockefeller Center, and the Pier. the wax museum in NY and the Empire State building tour were worth it. The Intrepid aircraft carrier tour was so-so. But the Corning Glass Museum was really interesting. Lunch at the revolving Skylon Tower overseeing the Niagara falls from the Canadian side was great. The CN Tower was cool, but not sure it was worth the price. Same goes for the Olympic Stadium tower in Montreal. The $27pp lobster dinner in Boston at a Chinese restaurant was certainly worth it- each person got a whole steamed lobster and there were quite a few other dishes to boot. Some of the other highlights I can remember include the beautiful city of Quebec, the incredible street scenes and buildings of Manhattan, and the majestic Niagara Falls seen from both the American and the Canadian sides.

The major complaints were be the early wake up calls and the little time we had at some locations. Washington DC felt really rushed at some parts. If you were expecting a relaxing vacation in under sun- forgetta bout it! We were lucky that it never rained during our tours.

Overall I'd give the tour 4 out of 5 stars.
