I too would like to make people aware of how badly I have been treated by expedia.com.au

Two days ago I booked flights with them and when I checked the reservation I noticed that they had put my girlfriend down as a MR rather than a MISS.

I am 100% certain that I inputted the correct details at the time of purchase so I have no idea if it is human or system error at their end that lead to the mistake.

I also selected my girlfriend as the lead contact for the party and have confirmation of this, but when I later got a confirmation, another person had been changed to the lead person - not that this is a problem, but this proves that they have something going wrong on their systems....

Anyway all of that could have been corrected so easily with an apology and a small change. I contacted them and they fobbed me off saying it was all my fault. I went back and stated 100% that it was not my error and they are refusing to back down. They are now choosing to try and extort money from me to make the change....

Its all a bit convenient for me that they sell cheap tickets and then charge large fees to correct small errors that they have made but blame on the buyer....

Not happy

I wish to alert others to a problem with Expedia- I am an unhappy customer.

We are currently on a world trip and have used Expedia for accommodation in both USA and Ireland. Some of our accommodation has been very good however I raise a concern about the difficulty in contacting Expedia when a problem arises with hotel bookings. Two experiences have been disappointing

Fist re New york hotel lost booking

Our flight from Louisville to New York was cancelled on short notice due to storms -It was Sunday and no contact is available with Expedia from Sat midday and and all day Sundays. Expedia also requires 24 hours PRIOR notice to cancel .DUE TO SHORT NOTICE OF CANCELLING OF OUR FLIGHT, this was impossible. due to the circumstances. We lost one night accommodation as a result [NY is expensive anytime] WE DID CONTACT THE HOTEL to advise them but they would not extend our booking. We were advised to contact Expedia however as mentioned it is impossible to contact Expedia on weekends and despite several calls on Monday we still could not reach them.

Another problem in in Ireland with Expedia

Two days ahead ,on checking our next hotel booking on 'my itinerary' on the Expedia website [again a weekend],we found our next booking in Waterford Ireland showed up 'CANCELLED' because their room rate had increased by $5.00. We then re-booked it on the Expedia website fearing we would arrive without a room available AND FOUND ON ARRIVED THAT WE HAD TWO bookings.]both of which we had payed for.

In retrospect, we could have called the hotel however to check if it was still available before re booking however foreigners in a different land do not always have easy access to cell phones and hotel phone calls are expensive.

We trusted that Expedia had credited our card for first booking.

I do not believe I WOULD USE EXPEDIA AGAIN after these experiences

Overcharged by Expedia!!

I have called end of May 2015 Expedia service for updating an Itinerary (initially booked from their website). I requested two changes (date and class change).

The Expedia Operator indicates me that the update will cost me $650 AUD, I provided him with my Credit Card number for finalizing the booking.

We confirmed the cost of the change for a total of $650 AUD and he as well confirmed me that I will receive a mail with the itinerary change (I never received this email confirmation).

On Sunday the 31st May, another operator from Expedia calls my mobile indicating me that an error occurred during the estimation of the price, he indicates me that although I was told that it will cost me $650 AUD, the changes cost in fact $1150 AUD. I indicates him that 1/ I canít accept this cost and 2/ that creates me a problem now since I changed another booking to be inline with the change requested and agreed with Expedia. He then indicates me that Expedia will assume the error and he confirms me again that only $650 AUD will be charged to my credit card.

However beginning of June, Expedia charged me twice, one for $650 AUD, another one for $1150 AUD:

I have contacted several times, no progress at all, wrote mails, no progress. They indicate that their system indicates only $650 AUD so I have been charged $1150 by the airline and I then need to contact the airline myself.

I have just called the airline that confirms that they didn't charged since they were not asked to do so, they don't have any of my credit card details.

I am very disappointed as 1/ I can't get back my money, 2/ they are not trying to solve anything at all.

Expedia is working when you book, but don't consider changing ticket at all, they are just making whatever they want. I am still on call with them regularly but clearly they will not do any progress unless a lawyer takes care of that

Bought: Positive (as other websites) for booking.
Absolute negative and bad service (even using incorrectly your credit card details) when using their opertors

    Great website! I used it many times and I have cancelled and recieved my refund promptly. Warning you must use your coupon before final submit button. I mistakenly didn't use it and could not amend the bookig. My fault.

    BEST AND LESS TRAVEL WILL NEVER BY MY TICKET AGAIN.

    ME AND MY FRIEND TRAVELING TOGETHER GIVEN SEPERATE BOOKIN IN DIFF FLIGHT.WE HAD BEEN SCREWD UP,ON RINGING THEM NO REPLY.

    WE WERE WANTED TO BUY VUSA VISITOR PASS TO TRAVEL INTERNAL SHOWN THEIR IGNORANCE OF EXISTANCE AND ON AIRPORT THEY SAID IT IS EXISTING BUT THEY CANT ISSUE THAT PASS AND TOLD US TO COMPLAIN TO UNITED AIRLINES DIRECTLY.

    TRIP TURN OUT QUITE EXPENSIVE.

    On a recent trip to Beijing we had an excellent stopover in Hong Kong in a hotel booked through & recommended by Expedia. It was the Eaton Hotel in Kowloon, and I would so much like to recommend it and Expedia for discovering the best & cheapest places to stay in.

    We wanted to see Shanghai and I found the best hotel+airfaire at Expedia.com.au. We decided to splurge and go with the Pudon Shangri-La hotel with river view. We flew Singapore Airlines before so it was great to see that they were the cheapest option for us. We can't wait to go.
