WE WERE WANTED TO BUY VUSA VISITOR PASS TO TRAVEL INTERNAL SHOWN THEIR IGNORANCE OF EXISTANCE AND ON AIRPORT THEY SAID IT IS EXISTING BUT THEY CANT ISSUE THAT PASS AND TOLD US TO COMPLAIN TO UNITED AIRLINES DIRECTLY.
TRIP TURN OUT QUITE EXPENSIVE.

On a recent trip to Beijing we had an excellent stopover in Hong Kong in a hotel booked through & recommended by Expedia. It was the Eaton Hotel in Kowloon, and I would so much like to recommend it and Expedia for discovering the best & cheapest places to stay in.

We wanted to see Shanghai and I found the best hotel+airfaire at Expedia.com.au. We decided to splurge and go with the Pudon Shangri-La hotel with river view. We flew Singapore Airlines before so it was great to see that they were the cheapest option for us. We can't wait to go.

I too would like to make people aware of how badly I have been treated by expedia.com.au
Two days ago I booked flights with them and when I checked the reservation I noticed that they had put my girlfriend down as a MR rather than a MISS.
I am 100% certain that I inputted the correct details at the time of purchase so I have no idea if it is human or system error at their end that lead to the mistake.
I also selected my girlfriend as the lead contact for the party and have confirmation of this, but when I later got a confirmation, another person had been changed to the lead person - not that this is a problem, but this proves that they have something going wrong on their systems....
Anyway all of that could have been corrected so easily with an apology and a small change. I contacted them and they fobbed me off saying it was all my fault. I went back and stated 100% that it was not my error and they are refusing to back down. They are now choosing to try and extort money from me to make the change....
Its all a bit convenient for me that they sell cheap tickets and then charge large fees to correct small errors that they have made but blame on the buyer....

I wish to alert others to a problem with Expedia
I am an unhappy customer
We are currently on a world trip and have used Expedia for accomodtion in both USA and Ireland. Some of our accomodation has been very good however I raise a concern about the difficulty in contactng Expedia when a problem arises with hotel bookings.
Two experiences have been disappointing
Fist re New york hotel lost booking
Our flight from Louiseville to New York was canelled on short notice due to storms -It was Sunday and no contact is available with Expedia from Satmidday and and all day Sundays. Expedia also requires 24 hours PRIOR notice to cancel .DUE TO SHORT NOTICE OF CANELION OF OUR FLIGHT,this was impossible. due to the circumstances. We lost one night accomodation as a result [NY is expensive anytime] WE DID CONTACT THE HOTEL to advise them but they would not extend our booking. We were advised to contact Expedia however asmentioned it is impossible to contact Expedia on weekends and despite several calls on Monday we still could not reach them .
Another problem in in Ireland with Expedia
Two days ahead ,on checking our next hotel booking on 'my itenerary' on the Expedia website [again a weekend],we found our next booking in Waterford Ireland showed up 'CANCELLED' because ther oom rate had increaed by $5.00 .We then rebooked it on the Exedia website fearing we would arrive without a room available AND FOUND ON ARRIVED THAT WE HAD TWO bookings.]both of which we had payed for.
In retrospect,we could have called the hotel however to check if it was still avaiable bfore re booking however foreigners in a diffferent land do not always have easy access to cell phones and hotel phone calls are expensives.
We trusted that Expedia had credited our card for first booking.
I do not beieve I WOULD USE EXPEDIA AGAIN after these experiences
