Here's an example of how 'fair' the auctions are.... Order number 315090. Apple I phone retails for $1169.00. Winning bidder places 2120 bids @65c a bid = $1378.00. Ending price $ 66.58. S/H $35.00. Winning bidders paid $1479.58 !

This site is a scam. I would vote 0 if I could. I have been studying a number of these type of penny auction sites and have experience with other rival sites and have had good experience with a number of them. But Bidrivals have obvious bots/shill bidders paying well over retail to inflate auction prices. They also are overly restrictive on Buy-it-Now. They charge bogus shipping rates. For instance they have $2.00 shipping on a $15 Amazon card and $4.00 shipping on a $25 card. There is absolutely no difference in the two cards from both a shipping or handling standpoint. This is simply another way for them to rip of the consumer. They also take a rediculously long time to deliver the merchandise, and there are many reports on alot of different forums about merchandise that never shows up(though I cannot validate the accuracy of that). I can comment that I have won only one auction ($15 gift card) and it is still 'processing'. I contacted support about an issue with the auction bid history function that is 'broken' but and they claim to be 'fixing' it but never will since it will reveal their fraudulent practices. I opened a chat case and asked why I could not see the auction bid history on the auction that I was bidding on since one of the bidders went WAY over full retail and had been bidding on and off throughout the entire auction and had shown signs of being a phoney bidder. They said that it was broken but they were working on it. So I asked that they send me an email with the history and then they said that it was a 'privacy issue' even though they could see that I participated in that auction so it was not a privacy issue, it was to protect their scam. I asked them to talk to a member of management, they were unavailable and they dont have a phone number to call for support(wow). I asked for them to email me. It has been a month and have not received any email at all from them. I clicked on the chat transcript to have it emailed to me but it never showed up in my email. I copied the text from the window since I had concerns that it was a scam and that function would probably not work(on purpose). Good thing I did. Here is. the transcript... Please wait for a site operator to respond. You are now chatting with 'Ronald' Ronald: Hi! Welcome to BidRivals, how can I help you today? Richard: I am not able to see the full history when clicking on the link. Ronald: Can you clarify that one please? Richard: I just finished an auction and click on the History tab but it doesn't come up. Here is the link it that the tab is directing to. ****URL Removed***** Ronald: Thank you Ronald: We don't have the option to view the full history of the auction Richard Richard: You have a history tab and in the tab the link shows history=all. Ronald: Yes. Richard: So why doesn't it work? Ronald: However it is not currently updated. Ronald: Our IT department is currently checking it. Ronald: * Sorry I mean fixing it Richard: can you tell me how many bids ***Username Removed*** bid in the meantime? I know he went way over full retail. Ronald: I am sorry Richard we don't disclose the information of the other customer Ronald: Due for security purposes only. Richard: It should be in the history. Ronald: Yes. Ronald: However please allow me to escalate it to the upper management Richard: So if your IT dept is fixing the history, why can't you provide that information? I won four gift cards on 10-11-10. I have emailed, spoken to four chat people and have received absolutely nothing from them. I am told they will investigate and I will receive an email update from the "concerned team." I have gotten no emails, no product and the same aggravation of having to repeat the process with every inquiry. Avoid this company--over two months and I have received nothing auction nos, order numbers 139403,139499,139498, 139497. Seattle, WA, USA

I love Bidrivals! I have won around 10 items through them now and it really makes me laugh when I read comments from people who bash Bidrivals just because they lost money or didn't end up winning anything. There is a strategy to winning and you have to be very patient. People are so quick to jump on the band wagon and say how much of a scam it is just because they never got anywhere. Yes its a gamble, yes they are making a ton of money out of it but it is not a scam. I have recieved all of my products and so have many of my friends and family who also use it. I love it and will keep bidding because it is fun and a great way to get cheap items. Best of luck!

Bidrivals seems to be cheat, I have bought product almost month back and still they have not delivered the product nor they have any status. Pathetic service. Please avoid taking anything from this website. My Order ID is 639824 which was placed on 16th June and today it is 22nd July but no feedback on delivery yet.

Although the BidRivals website and its bid system seems fun and nice to use I had the stupid idea of investing over 200bids on an item, hopping that, if I didn't win, I could buy the product at a cheaper price.

Well, I was wrong...

After spending 218bids on a PS3, I had the opportunity to buy it for "just" 211euros. I was already losing money, since they price it at 305euros plus shipping and it's price is just 279euros on every local store!

Anyway, I do prefer to pay 211euros than 279euros for the same item... Or do I?

It's been over 5 weeks since I've paid for the damn PS3 and it hasn't been shipped yet! I've been reporting this issue since their 14 business day delivery time as ended and, itís always the same thing: sorry for the delay... your problem will be escalated... Iíve even received a couple of emails from someone (or a bot) supposedly at the shipping department, saying that: "they were sorry for the exceptional delay but my item will be shipped this week." Well that week has gone and nothing happened.

So my advice is this: if you are considering using BidRivals to try to buy some item for a smaller price, hopping that you can buy it for a bit more than the retail price if you donít win the action, well DONíT DO IT!

What about the itemís that you do win? Well, I never could win a action, since itís too damn hard to win anything on BidRivals, without being completely ripped off... And I did spend some money in the last 6 months trying to...

In the end, itís for you to decide... So, choose wisely not to throw away your money :-)

I've won 16 auctions on Bidrivals but if I was to add up all the money spent on auctions I've lost then I'm probably just about even-so I consider myself lucky. It's easy to lose sense of the true amount you spent so here's a good way to look at it: I spent £40 on bids-giving me 103 bids. With this I won an 8GB memory stick (RRP £26) using only 3 of my bids. The auction ended at £0.07 and the P&P was £4. When you win you pay the final price which was £4.07 Bargain??? Nope because I still had 100 bids left which I used and didn't win anything. So the ACTUAL total amount I spent was £40 (bids) and £4.07 (final auction price)a grand total of £44.07 for an item worth £26. The trouble is it's easy to only think of the bargain price you've just paid and completely forget about any remaining bids, and then with the good feeling of the bargain you've just got you try your luck by buying more bids and then win nothing again and agin and again etc. I hope that gives alittle insight into what can be easily overlooked. Oh by the way the only reason Ive broken even is by selling most of the items on eBay and just keeping the really nice items for myself ;o)

Scam comes to mind. Over a month to receive my product and had to go to paypal and open up a dispute concerning not receiving my item that I bought from them after losing the bidding war. Costumer service is awful! Don't waste your time or money!

bidrivals is fixed , i had recahed 0 seconds and i was last bid, and never received what i had bid for. got onto somone and i was told the system is 100 hundred of a second , what a joke tried to tell me that somone else had bid , even though screen said i was last bidder. STAY WELL AWAY WAHT SCAM

Bidrivals has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I used the buy now feature and have been waiting over 3 weeks for my item. I have tried to contact them and keep getting canned responses. They have no idea when my item will be shipped.
