Today after discovering that my iron of 5 years had stopped working, I brought a brand new iron from my local argos store (CARDIFF BAY)and to my amazement discovered it had already been used. It was carefully packed away in the box and when opened the base of the iron was leaking with water and the plastic bag covering the iron was wet.
I am very disapointed with Argos. I have never brought an item brand new that was already used .
I am really disapointed with Argos.
How may other clients has this happened to.

I reserved an item yesterday at Sutton Coldfield Argos.I was impressed to discover after a hunt around many other shops that my item was available. The shop assistant was pleasant and smiling and genuilly sorry when there was a discrepency concerning the price, she called for assistance from a more senior member of staff who again was happy to help, although unable to. she called for the manager who sorted the problem with a smile and an apology. The staff were all approachable and pleasant and i was more than impressed with the service, especailly as this is such a busy time for everyone.

Over the past 4-6 weeks argos staff have made me angrier and angrier and they so badly need to go on a customer service course, I have found the staff in the shop to be very pleasant and helpful but unfortunately the same cannot be said for the delivery people and the call centre staff who seem to think they can say what they like to people and get away with it. I found the call centre staff in the West Midlands to be very unhelpful and very rude and abusive, I even spoke to the call centre manager there and he was no better in fact he was worse. As if that wasnt enough I left my home in Woodburn, Dalkeith this morning (18/08/08)to go to work only to find the only exit blocked by an argos lorry reg. no. HX06CZY I gave the horn a wee toot to let them know I needed out he looked out the side and I said I needed out as I was trying to get to work to which he said "shut up you'll just have to wait Im at work." I found him to be quite nasty and at that time of the morning (8am)I could have done without the nastiness my street only has one exit and he should not have been blocking it, I had to wait a further 5 mins before he moved the lorry. Argos training staff need to seriously look at their training on customer service especially for the call centre and delivery staff. I would also like to say that they need to be a bit more helpful and flexible when it comes to delivery of items as I had to have a fairly large item delivered to my mums house due to the fact that they said they could not arrange to have it delivered between 5-6pm even although they finish their deliveries at 6pm. I wonder, is this because the drivers may get their deliveries done quicker and so knock off early? Argos need to seriously look at these issues as I have since heard of a few more people who have had similar experiences with argos and their staff and who now say that they would not deal with them again.
