I bought Acronis during a promotion period because I needed a better backup system. Fortunately, I bought it when I did because my system had a major error in it and I was able to easily restore it. However, the only reason I paid so much for it was because there was a $20 rebate for it. They no longer honoring the rebate and I'm out the $20 that I expected to get back. Now I have a system that works, but it was easily $20 more than I expected to pay for it. Don't count on the company making good on the coupon.

Acronis Truimage is my backup software of choice. It's saved me on numerous occassions. I've used it ever since 3 or 4 years ago and it's never disappointed me. Well except this one time when the rescue CD wouldn't recognize the Intel ICH9R SATA controller on my motherboard. But then I upgraded to the latest version (it was about time any ways) and I was able to restore my computer with the new CD no problem. One of the best features has to be its ability to mount an existing image as a drive. That's extremely useful when you need to just copy a few files. It would be awesome if eventually VMWare could mount an Acronis image too; maybe they're working on the feature.
