Use !$ to grab the input of the last command

Posted on Wednesday, April 4, 2001 @ 10:28:05 PM CDT by David Yee [] [read 1926 times]

Tips: Linux/Unix world
Use !$ to grab the input of the last command for use in your current command. This can save a lot of keystrokes. E.g.:

command 1: ls -al /usr/local/bin/asdfadsf

command 2: cp blahblah !$

Command 2 is the equivalent of "cp blahblah /usr/local/bin/asdfadsf".
