Posted on Tuesday, August 7, 2001 @ 12:46:04 PM CDT by David Yee [] [read 7216 times]

Tips: Linux/Unix world
The newer versions of the Linux distributions out there should have this handy utility called "rename". The syntax is as follows:

rename from to file

For example, to rename all the .html files in a directory to .php, type the following:

rename .html .php *.html

Type "man rename" for more detail.
