I was curious what the difference is between the Logitech Harmony 300i remote I have and the new Logitech Harmony 200 I just noticed. The Harmony 200 is shorter and does not have as many buttons. Doing a comparison at Logitech.com revealed the differences. The 300i supports 4 devices while the 200 can only do 3. The only other important difference is the Harmony 200 lacks programmable buttons. On my 300i there are a group of useful buttons below the 4 main device selection buttons towards the top and personally I've assigned functionalities such as jump to HDMI 1, Component 1, and tune to some favorite channels. So given the choice between the 300i and the 200, the former is a better choice, especially since they have the same retail price of $29.99.
Amazon.com, BTW, has a a hot promotion on the Harmony One for $139.99 plus you get a free Harmony 200
. The deal lasts until 11-26-2011.
