Windows 7 SSL Problems for Every Website Solution

Tips: Windows-world
I updated the BIOS on my Windows 7 computer, and after the computer rebooted rebooted I was greeted with errors whenever I tried to visit a secure website with Firefox. So okay, I thought, let's try Chrome- nope- same thing. Also SSL connections from my email client (Thunderbird) would not work- for instance with live.com or pop.gmail.com. WTF- at first I thought maybe some Windows cryptographic service didn't start or something. But then I looked at the error message displayed by Chrome more closely:

"The server's security certificate is not yet valid!"

Not yet valid- huh? I glanced at the time on the bottom right hand corner and ah- it was showing midnight, 2007. So somehow after the BIOS was updated on the PC the time got reset, and any app involving SSL certificates were balking. Changing the system time to the correct time fixed all problems just like that.
