VIA Eden X2 CPUs Unveiled

Posted on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 @ 04:27:37 AM CST by David Yee [] [read 3332 times]

Hardware News
VIA today powered up the VIA Eden X2 dual core CPU that is 64 bit and manufactured with the 40 nm process. VIA touts the new chip as fanless capable and has features such as virtualization and being socket compatible with the previous gen VIA processors such as the Eden and the C7. VIA didn't disclose any performance metrics or benchmarks of the Eden X2. It will be interesting to see how it stacks up against the current crop of Intel ATOM dual core chips. From the looks of it the Eden X2 will be more energy efficient and could be quite competitive price-per-watt and price-wise.

You should read and learn a little before you post.

IDIOT, AMD simply deployed the best solution in low consumption X86-64 APUs. Ok, agreed that Intel still have the beste mid-high and high level processors, but on low and mid low processors AMD dominates.

Again kid, you should learn before you post.

Intel ATOM rulez. VIA Eden X2 or whatever X2 they come up with can't stack up. AMD sux butt too- y'all just can't keep up with the big guns when it comes to stability and speed.
