Dude- relax. Are you from Lacie or something? I'm just saying Little Big Disk Thunderbolt not going to be much faster (if any faster) than an external drive using an eSATA interface. If the drive used inside is a 6GBps then OK yeah you might see some fast burst transfers, but personally I haven't seen any mechanical hard drives saturating each a SATA2 bandwidth. You're going to need a fast-ass SSD to take advantage of the Thunderbolt interface.

Drey has a very bleak outlook on life, doesnt he... oh, sorry, I am supposed to comment on the article - very good - much better than Drey it would seem..

..slap a sata2 on this puppy...where do people make up lines like this? Its not a machine gun with big fat bullets! I'm surprised he called it puppy.. whats wrong with a good ol' fashioned.. slap this 'baby' with a sata2 mo'ferg!

Come on Drey, you can do better than tha, surely!?

OK, so thunderbolt lets you do up to 10 gigabits, but come on the Lacie Little Big Disk would not be able to come anywhere close to taking advantage of the bandwidth. You can probably slap a SATA2 interface on this puppy and it would perform similarly. I am anxious to see if the benchmarks will prove me wrong- I doubt it.
