VNC is a terrific *FREE* (yes FREE!) software that you can use to remote control desktops. VNC is also available for Linux, Mac, etc., but this tip focuses on setting it up for a Windows machine.
1)>Download the latest VNC package.
2)Install the server on the Windows machine you want to remote-control.
3)Run the viewer on the PC you want to remote control the machine from 2). It is only a single .EXE file. Enter in the IP address of the remote PC where the VNC server is running and you're in business.
The faster the connection between server and client, the more responsive VNC will be. I don't recommend using VNC over dial-up connections. Don't forget to try the copy-and-paste feature- it's terrific! Something like PC Anywhere from Symantec has more features, but it costs around $100, and doesn't support nearly as many platforms.
